Man’s Ruin Tattoo and Piercing

I got my second tattoo today at Mann’s Ruin (got my first here just over two weeks ago) and couldn’t be happier! The staff here is friendly, informative, and professional. Heather is a real artist! I highly recommend Mann’s Ruin and will definitely return for any future tattoos!!!

I received a tattoo a couple of years ago and I loved everything about my experience. The colors are still great and everyone ask if I just had it done. The shop smells so sterile, like you are in a hospital. Heather was extremely cautious about not contaminating anything which made me feel so much better. You can’t put a price on that.
I just felt I needed to review since reading the other post. Any reputable tattoo artist should look at the design, color, or anything you have in mind and comment in the best interest of YOU. When I went in, I had color ideas and from my skin tone, Heather let me know up front the color might not look that good. I couldn’t of been happier to have an artist that was honest for my sake. I would never want something that is PERMANENT to look like crap because an artist didn’t want to offend me.

I thought the staff was rude and pretty disrespectful. They immediately said the idea I had for my design wouldn’t fit and look good where I wanted it, without compromise. Then when I found out they were booked for the day and mentioned that I was from out of town and needed to get it done today they told me to «try and find a place that didn’t smell like weed and to avoid the artists who shake because there are a lot of heroin addicts». Trying to make it sound like they are the only suitable place in Asheville. I found a place, Forever Tattoo, that didn’t try to change my design and did it for $ 75 cheaper, all with a hell of a lot nicer staff. And I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great selection and variety of organic jewelry! I thought the stone plugs were very reasonably priced.

My husband and I both got tattoos here today. We were both very pleased with the quality of work as well as the professional atmosphere. Heather is the tattoo artist and she is very friendly and welcoming. This is a female run establishment so it was nice to not have to put up with any macho attitudes! We will both come back here for our next ones.

Man’s Ruin is da kewlest! When my big got divorced and needed to feel better about himself, he finally knuckled down to find a good shop in the Carolinas. After much research, he went with Man’s Ruin and has had two pieces done there so far. It’s the seventh place he’s been to over many years — he’s old — and he found it extremely clean and very professional. Plus Heather and Jenn are swell!
And he likes an excuse to drive up and see the boys in Asheville.
