My absolute favorite! The quality, service, options, and FLAVOR can not be beat. The drive thru makes it super convenient too. Try any of the baked goods and you will be addicted…

Found this on Unilocal.Staff very nice. Limited menu. You can work there but it is a VERY minimalist atmosphere and didn’t feel very cozy. Only 1 futon and a couple of chairs, otherwise all tables. Pumpkin latte was good as well as choc chip cookie

Seriously, one of the better cappuccinos in Asheville. Fun vibe in this place, friendly staff, they roast their own coffee, amazing breakfast cookies. This is my goto coffee shop when on the south side or Biltmore… now if they could just have Sunday hours for cold football sundays!

Loved the Vietnamese iced coffee! They have 9 kinds of beans for purchase, too. Nice staff, casual, relaxing atmosphere inside, plus they offer a drive-thru option. Great stop!

For some reason, I too often find myself in this no-man’s land of traffic and strip malls, between I-40 and the Asheville airport. Things are way too hectic here to fit into my vision of why I moved to Asheville. There are a few isolated oases here, however. My two favorite local spots(both coffee shops) are Medea’s on Long Shoals, and the Biltmore Coffee Trader’s, just south of I-40 on H-ville Road. Both epitomize Asheville, in somewhat different ways. See my review of Medea’s, if you’re interested. Biltmore Coffee Traders is set in a former residence, an old 1950’s house on Hendersonville road, converted to a business. They have a beautifully wrought custom maple bench at one of the tables, some outrageously thick bar stools made from tree trunks(birch?), and other, more traditional furniture, all clean and comfy. the environment is less sterile, but it’s not dirty. The staff here own the place, and really care. the wide variety of beverages and goodies here are highly tasty, with nutritious options, including a unique Protein Bar. Conversation is great, and it’s fun to people-watch/listen here. And they roast their own coffee here, to boot! There is no A/C here, but usually, it isn’t needed. There’s only one rest room, but that’s part of the charm, if you choose to look at it that way. I do. The drive through lane is another way to judge the business. Biltmore Coffee Traders has a drive through window, but there is no intercom or any way to order in advance, except by telephone. People seem to be comfortable and patient with this(I would be), and efficiency takes somewhat of a back seat to friendliness and tastiness. Not to say it’s slow, I was quickly served, and in a very welcome fashion. One way to judge the culture of any business, is to check out their approach to business cards. It gives a good indication of their style, friendliness toward other businesses, philosophy of scarcity or abundance. and is a good indication of who patronizes the business. Biltmore Coffee Traders has a great selection of business cards, oriented in a somewhat chaotic fashion. There are lots of cards from artists, massage therapists, health coaches, etc., as well as traditional services like pest control, etc. There are only a few businesses where I feel so comfortable that I want to move in, and they seem to be coffee shops/houses, for some reason. This is one, another is «Your Big Picture» in Fort Lauderdale Florida, of all places. This place has less patchouli, not an overabundance of granola, more of a focus on enjoying the moment; kind of the epitome of a coffee house experience, in my opinion.

The Banana Giner scone might have been the best scone I’ve ever eaten… the vanilla latte wasn’t as amazing — I think the milk was slightly scalded. Going back tomorrow to give the coffee another try!

If you like coffee, then you will absolutely LOVE this place! I had their cold brewed iced coffee, and it was one of the best cups of cold brew I’ve ever had. I also like how they put coffee cubes instead of ice cubes in their iced drinks to avoid diluting the coffee. The environment is wonderful, they make you feel very comfortable, the workers are easy to talk to and very friendly. I almost didn’t want to leave because I loved being there. Their coffee is so delicious im surprised it’s at such a good price. If you’re visiting Asheville and you’re looking for a good cup of coffee, this is THE place to go!

This is where my wife and I get all our coffee. Forget Starnucks. Or Starducks. Whatever. This place is local, the owners, a husband and wife, are in there every day, and they are always smiling and friendly. They remember our names. Their service is consistently fast and great. Don’t pay high dollar for crap coffee. Just don’t. That’s why we go here, and why you should too. Plus, being a Unilocaler will occasionally net you a coupon. If you’re looking to indulge in what I call a «dessert coffee», try the Mayan Mocha. It’s my favorite.

Loved this place. They roast their coffee, right there in the shop. Really fresh, good coffee. Asked if they sold any bag coffee, she said which one? I’ll bag it up. There was a table, full of bins with freshly roasted coffee. I could barely decide. Small selection of good muffins. I wish they had longer hours. Only open from 8 till 1, I think. Unassuming building, careful, you’ll pass it.

Awesome selection of light roast coffees! Almost no coffee shops have this and light roast definitely tastes the best. Great service as well. For iced coffees they have coffee ice cubes so it won’t get watered down.

My favorite coffee shop! Very organic, healthy and all natural coffee, food and smoothies. Such a cute place with super friendly workers. I absolutely love everything about this coffee shop and I recommend it to absolutely everyone. They have the best chai tea lattes that I have ever had and amazing loose teas that you can buy in bulk to try out at the shop. They also have a convenient drive-thru so you can pick up some coffee on the go! I love, love, love this place.

They have the best cold brew, and their pastries are baked daily, they have gelatos, smoothies, tea, and beans. Their Ugandan coffee is my favorite. They know about coffee. And they’re local and green The ambiance is semi exotic, lots of cool coffee related stuff, very kid friendly as well, couldn’t ask for more

Seriously good coffee. We would get our morning cup of coffee every day if we could, but there were so many other places to try in Asheville that we simply couldn’t. The building is rather unassuming, so much so that we almost drove right by it. And once we made it and went inside, it was just as humble. The best part, though, was being greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. The coffee is probably the best that you can get in Asheville, and comparable to a lot of others that I’ve tried around the country. Not the bestest ever, but very much fits the bill when you’re in need of that caffeine fix or simply craving delicious, delicious coffee while traveling.

We went to this little shop while vacationing in North Carolina after reading Unilocal!reviews. I like to support local businesses and small coffee roasters. What I really wanted was an excellent Americano(especially after drinking hotel coffee). We found the shop and I asked a few questions then ordered. I wanted mine in a ceramic mug, not a paper cup. The barista explained they are an agricultural stand and supposed to use only paper cups. I didn’t quite understand the distinction, but they did have mugs so, if possible, I would prefer a mug. She was unsure what size to use but a gentleman came to her aid. The Americano lacked the crema of a well-poured espresso drink. Sadly, it also lacked rich coffee flavor even though it was in a ceramic mug. Just a bit better than the hotel drip. The sitting areas were pleasant. Service was a reasonable speed. Cost was average. Since we are leaving the area, I can’t check this place again to see why Unilocalers! love this place.

I checked this place out because it had 5 stars. I found the owner to be friendly and welcoming. The ambiance of the location was relaxing. It had a very craft, local vibe to it. I ordered a poor over. I was not that pleased with my coffee. Being a self proclaimed snob, I couldn’t taste any of the fruit. It had a generally burnt demeanor. Overall I think this place is fine, but it was not a five star experience.

Just what you’d expect from a small local coffee shop! Friendly and knowledgable staff and DELICIOUS fresh roasted coffee and espresso! By far the best pumpkin spice latte I have EVER had. My husband loved his cup of Costa Rican blend coffee as well! We stocked up on beans for home as well as had some ground as a gift.

Highly recommended for a great cup of fresh roasted coffee. They also sell green beans and, of course, fresh roasted whole or ground beans. This coffee is so rich and smooth they you won’t want to add sugar or cream. They have a dozen or so varieties and will help you choose based on your taste preference.

We stumbled across Biltmore Coffee Traders after allowing our son to «guide from the back seat» early one morning. Had we not been trusting him and Unilocal,we certainly would have blinked and missed this hole-in-the-wall location but I am sure glad we did not. On our first visit we met the wife half of this creative team. We learned they moved from Alaska and started this business. Their passion for all things coffee is evident as the husband half(Rick) actually roasts the beans in small batches in the next room! He had been busy recently as there were freshly roasted beans cooling in the containers — oh what an aroma! BCT also packages and sell the whole beans in addition to using them in their served products. The interior is not much to look at, but hell, I’m there for the coffee, not the view. It is quaint and cozy and about as anti-establishment as one can get. Trust me, it was unique seeing burlap sacks of raw beans waiting to be roasted by this older manual-style roaster. the ones you really have to pay attention to as an art to roast the beans to a specific darkenss. But I digress — stay on target. She whipped up some off the menu coffee /espresso /gelato milkshake which I admit, I’ve never had anything even come close to being this good. My son got the Moca Java Milkshake with extra espresso shots and was grinning like a Cheshire cat. My partner got straight hot coffee or a latte which she said was exceptional! We returned later that week after my son decided he really wanted to take some roasted beans home for his morning brew. He selected a pound each of Espresso and the Brazilian Bob-o-Link Peaberry and has plowed his way thru one bag already. They also do online ordering /shipping from their web site. Both owners were pleasant to talk to and during our short time in their shop there were quite a few drive up and regulars they knew by name. If in Asheville, you owe yourself a trip to Biltmore Coffee Traders and if you are into cold brews — you gotta try the gelato blends. She hand makes the gelato daily so if they are out, you will have to try again! Cheers!
