Yessss!!! This Food and Wine festival is not to be missed. Three floors of incredible samples of food and wine from the Asheville area. I spent about 2.5 hours at the fest and was completely, happily stuffed to capacity yet hadn’t even hit up every food vendor. Oh wine and spirits too, there is so much to try! I was really blown away by the beautiful dishes that were being served, carefully plated, good sized. Also the people who were working at the booths were very friendly and helpful! My favorites of the day were the curried Gazpacho at Table and the Smoked Gouda Pimento at East Village Grill! Yum. I’m already looking forward to next year.

I’ve actually wanted to check out the Wine and Food Festival for a couple of years now, and always seemed to miss it! This year, I was lucky and got to go! It was… amazing! Specifically I got to go to the Grand Tasting at the US Cellular Center. It filled the entirety of the building, all three floors! Booths lined basically every wall or hallway, all staffed with people from various restaurants, wineries, breweries, and farms who were excited to see you and feed you! I was stuffed full like it was Thanksgiving. The amount of food and wine samples was definitely overwhelming in the best way! Everyone brought their A game. I don’t think I had anything I didn’t like! Now, I have so many places I want to visit and try. I also really enjoyed watching the chefs work their magic in the Chefs’ Challenge portion of the day. I felt like I go to watch a live Food Network show. Not the whole thing, of course, I was walking back and forth, but still. It was super cool to watch them do their thing. Overall my experience was nothing less than amazing. Absolutely nothing to be negative about, I think everyone did an amazing job with the look and setup of the event. Getting in was a breeze. The one thing I would love to see in the future are those small plastic plates the allow you to hold your wine glass on it at the same time. I think they should give one of these to you with your glass instead of using paper plates. Less mess or hassle! Can’t wait for next year.
