Went out after being highly recommended. First up for being empty it took fifteen to twenty minutes for any attention. Ordered brisket flatbread that tasted like crock-pot pot roast, it was flavorless, watery, and had a chew like gum. Next up tempura fried country ham on a bed of collards; sounds southern but over breaded to the point the ham is lost, then sit it on a wet bed of collards and you have wads of wet flavorless dough. Filet tips were uninteresting(do they taste the food here?). Under seasoned or non-marinated flank steak with chanterelle risotto was unimpressive. I heard waitstaff saying someone complained about the risotto and I heard them jokingly say«have you ever had risotto before?» The short-ribs were nothing worth mentioning. In all over 80 bucks for a flavorless meal. I would have enjoyed more soulful cooking from Golden Corral or a chain restaurant. Would recommend bistro 42 on Dixie instead.

Ate here for lunch over the holidays and was pleasantly surprised. The soups were homemade and very hearty. We got the veggie beef soup and the carrot curry. The veggie was great but the carrot curry was the winner. Great atmosphere. Very modern yet homey. Nice bar area too. Service was a little lacking. They seemed to be short staffed. 5 stars for the food though.

Wonderful place with great service, ambience and beautifully presented fine food. Our party of three shared a salad and dessert along with our dinner and they served separately with care in presentation. We really enjoyed it.

Food was unimpressive, expensive and cold… Server was admittedly inexperienced… If you are looking for a good meal go someplace else…

My favorite place in town! Food is some of the best I’ve ever had, staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and environment is relaxing. Nice bar for hanging out and getting to know some locals. Lots of neat cocktails to try, I’d recommend the Hammer Drill.

Get the short ribs. They are tender with a sauce that makes them melt in your mouth and come in a bowl with perfectly cooked spinach and itty bitty dumplings. They give you a spoon so you won’t feel bad about taking huge bites! Romantic quiet ambiance with a homey interior and corner spot makes for an ideal dinner spot.

Bia’s, a French-style bistro, has been on my Unilocal radar for a while now. So after a trip to the NC Zoo, we came here for lunch. Everything on the menu looks great and, for lunch at least, the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant has nice ambiance, a long urban space with brick walls, a partitioned off bar section and French style jazz playing in the background. They have a full bar and feature both classic and more modern cocktails. They also have a number of wine selections and North Carolina beers. For lunch, I ordered the French onion soup with half a roast beef sandwich($ 9) and my husband ordered the burger with prosciutto and Gruyère. That came with fries or a salad AND a beer for $ 12. All the food was excellent. In particular, the French onion soup was a top-notch rendition loaded with dark beer stock and onions topped with French bread covered in melted Gruyère served in a crock. The French onion soup would have been even better if the cheese had been broiled to a bubbly brown. Beyond the amazing food and comfortable upscale ambiance, our server was attentive and polite. The restrooms were clean. I look forward to coming back for another visit sometime soon.

I was working in Asheboro on Monday, and by the time I finished up, it was about 1:30 p.m., and I was starving. I don’t know much about Asheboro so I searched on Unilocal, and this restaurant sounded promising. I parked in a lot designated for the restaurant that was across a fairly busy street from Bia’s; if there was an adjacent lot, I just didn’t see it. It wasn’t a big deal, and the parking was free. I just had to watch for cars. Bia’s was very cute inside. I’m not sure how the«Hardware» part fits into it’s name because this place doesn’t look like it was ever a hardware store, but whatever. Very bistro-y. The lunch menu is rather limited. Onion soup, some salads and some sandwiches, and combinations of those items. They appear to have daily specials, and on this particular day, they offered a fried oyster po’boy sandwich, a fried softshell crab sandwich, and a lasagna of some sort. I went with the oyster po’boy and a side salad with blue cheese(not a creamy dressing, rather with crumbles and vinaigrette, which I actually prefer so yay!). Good food; I enjoyed both the sandwich and salad, and it was more food than I could eat despite being very hungry. And then… Monday is $ 5.00 wine by the glass day!!! The only thing that made me a bit sad was, despite what others said about an expansive wine by the glass menu, I was told they only offered one chardonnay by the glass, and I didn’t recognize it, but still… $ 5.00. Whatever it was, it was okay. The waitstaff was professional and polite. A couple of different people waited on me which was a little confusing, but I had a very nice, relaxing lunch in lovely surroundings. I will return when/if I’m back in Asheboro.

I went to Bia’s for lunch last Monday, to treat a friend on her birthday. First good news, wine by the glass is $ 5 on Monday! Second — the food was great. We had the brisket sandwich and a special that day, an oyster Po’Boy, with some of the best french fries I’ve ever been served. The restaurant’s ambiance was great, and our server — Nick? — was super. I live in Greensboro so don’t go to Asheboro often, but when I do I will surely return to Bia’s.

On the way to Seagrove Pottery, 3 of us had lunch at Bia’s. What a gem! The pulled pork had delicious flavor, reflecting the best of both eastern and western NC bbq. Fish tacos had generous portions of fresh grouper. Bia’s will become a destination as it gains attention. We plan to drive back down for the wine dinner. Bia’s is a find!

This is big city cooking in a small town location, in a pretty and comfortable space. The food is top tier, and the extensive wine list runs the gamut from the familiar to the offbeat, at all price points. The servers, while considerate and attentive, don’t know the menu very well; and the daily specials list is so extensive that it’s hard to recite with enough detail to really showcase how exciting the food is, and it would be hard to absorb it all by ear. A printed description of the daily specials would aid in selection and help the servers. This was a lovely place to celebrate a special day, but it would also be great for a more casual evening. And the appetizer portions were enough to serve as an entrée! If you are looking for a great meal in the Asheboro area, do not miss Bia’s.

The food and wine was amazing. The service was weird, we had to ask for menus, the Bloody Mary had WAY too much horse radish. the waiter seemed nervous and unsure of himself. Wonderful space and atmosphere for Asheboro. I will definitely come back.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before but the brisket sandwich at bia’s deserves its own 5 star review. Terrific service, short rib and yucca soup was very tasty but the brisket sandwich was off the charts. Light crusty bread with brisket that melts in your mouth. I live in Atlanta but will look for an excuse to return to Asheboro and go back to Bia’s

A wonderful evening full of surprises in an unlikely location. Worth a drive just for the ambience alone but when you are treated with the lovely and creative dishes you’ll definitely want to return and tell your friends about this gem. The servers were all extremely nice and accommodating and Bia was lovely and took the time to have conversation with us. She knew it was a celebration so she sent a free appetizer which was amazing. Our server Karen quickly became a new friend and she was very helpful in making our selections from the appetizers all the way to the dessert. The prices were very reasonable for the beautifully presented and wonderfully prepared dishes. I tried taking pictures but the they just didn’t capture the scene. Kind of like photographing the Grand Canyon. They have a beautiful wine«cellar» and choices from all over the world. I highly recommend giving Bia’s Gourmet Hardware a try.

So happy to find this great restaurant. Food is great every time. Menu is extensive with an incredible array of ingredients and flavors. There is something for everyone! Great atmosphere makes you feel relaxed and special at the same time, open and airy in a metro loft style. The service is great. Wonderful selection of wine and a great bar too. I always make a bee line to this place each month when I visit Asheboro.
