Wayback Burger

My friend, my boyfriend, and I had went there on the day they had the buy one get one free cheeesy burger. Well we had ordered and all and we’re waiting and waiting and waiting for our food. As time goes by we watch all the customers behind us get their food but our food is no where to be found. After waiting for about 20 minutes my boyfriends walks up to the counter and asks why hasn’t our order been made yet and the cashier asks for his name and she says sorry we don’t have an order for you; my boyfriend then showed her the receipt that SHE had given to him after she rang us up and he paid; and she still said I’m sorry there’s no record of that order. Manager comes over and puts the order through, we get it pretty quickly after that. After all of that the manager asks if he could get us any sauces. Now if I was the manager I would of offered some fries or a milkshake or something after a huge mistake like that but he offers condiments which are already free upon asking… Very bad first experience there. Such a shame because the burger was amazing.

My friend and I came in to get a hearty lunch before a several hour hike. The staff was super friendly and helpful, as we were interested in trying and knowing more about their $ 5 meals: a one patty cheeseburger with choice of three cheeses (and can be ordered «way back style» with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard and ketchup), plus fries. Or chicken tenders with fries. Both $ 1 additional for a drink. It was too good a deal to pass up, so we both got them wayback style with American cheese.
I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting high quality because of the price and was okay with that. My expectations however were too low. I was blown away by the softness of the bun and the freshness of the toppings; the burger itself was delicious. The fries were also very good. I was glad I didn’t get two parties; although just under a lb (3oz Patty), I was more than adequately fed.
Id like to come back and try their milkshakes, grilled chicken sandwich, etc.
I’m not a Pepsi product fan, but they also have sweetened and unsweetened iced teas and lemonade (not sure on price).
You truly cannot beat the $ 5 deal on a first (or additional) visit.

I picked up some takeout for a family treat the other night. 4 burgers + onion rings + cheese fries set me back $ 32, which isn’t too bad. Between us we tried a ‘regular’ cheeseburger and three other burgers, all were very good.
One of my favorite burgers in the Ashburn area. I don’t know how often I will be back, but I appreciate options other than five guys and Red Robin for a decent burger.

Went here twice because the best thing about Wayback burger isn’t their burgers. It seems like it’s everything else. I ordered specific burgers here, and they were all unseasoned and extremely flat. It was as if someone specifically pressed the two buns together to purposely «smush» the burger before I received it. When I tasted it, I was not impressed.
On the bright side, their home made potato chips are great, along with their chicken strips. If I want a burger, I won’t be coming here. But if I want a good shake, chicken strips or home made chips, this wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Got a lettuce wrap burger and rings. Not the best burger ever, but good for the money.

Who’s ready for the TripleTriple Challenge? Yes folks they offer a burger that has nine patties, also known as the diabetes burger. Anyone wanna try? If you do, let me know because I’d like to meet anyone who survived it. Ha!
+Service– really nice employees! One guy even went around to ask if we needed anything.
+Burgers– my fiancé ordered the Cheesy burger with 4 different types of cheese and extra bacon. I ordered the patty melt with extra thousand island dressing. I liked how they buttered their buns and put them upside unlike a normal burger. Different concept, not like we needed butter but it was good. The patty was just okay to me, nothing special.
+Mac and cheese bites– small… tiny actually. Don’t get them.
+Chili cheese fries– decent amount of fries with some chili poured on top. I didn’t think the chili was the worst but it needed more flavor. Felt boring to me.
Overall, I’d say stick to 5 guys. It was about $ 25 for 2 burgers, 2 drinks with the mac and cheese bites and chili cheese fries. I didn’t think that was too expensive but they need to work a little more on their burger seasoning and making their bites a bit bigger and some thicker chili. I’d come back and try it again! Maybe they’ll do some fixer uppin!

Ordered the caesar salad. Served on iceberg lettuce. When I told staff that wasnt a caesar, they had no idea it was supposed to be romain. Maybe 10 shreds of parmigian. The chicken nuggets are processed chicken, not breast. Staff also didnt know that and had to go pull the frozen bag out of the freezer to read ingredients. Fish also a processed frozen food. Nothing fresh or authentic about this place. They did give me a refund. Staff was friendly but they were uninformed and unknowledgable about the very food they were serving. It is 2016 and you are in the most affluent county in the US. This is unacceptable.

This is my first Unilocal posting. Very, very good burger place. I’ve come twice so far and both times have gotten the Cheeesey burger and the Mac and cheese bites and both are amazing. Have also had the fries and onion rings which are good as well. Prices are fair in my opinion. Definitely try it out!

My husband and I went to have a early lunch on a Sunday. Staff was friendly, ordering was easy and the wait was not long. The tables needed to be cleaned as did the soda stations. The chili cheese fries were awesome! Burgers were good not greasy, and flavorful however the single burger was much smaller than the bun. The manager was nice, went around to the tables asking how everything was. We would def go back again.

I just tried my first Jake’s Way back burger and first thought is that for one person, vege burger with cheese fries and a shake cost me $ 13.00. Talk about expensive. OMG it is a frozen Boca veggie pattie. I got charged separate for everything since apparently you cannot get a veggie burger in a combo. And veggie burgers are more expensive says the cashier guy. Really???
The veggie pattie unseasoned, the bunch was flat from being smashed down on the grill and the burger was the size of a cheesburger. My strawberry shake was thick which was great, but the ice cream tasted freezer burnt like ice cream that had been in the freezer too long… but my fries were hot, seasoned and pretty good. I could have gone to five guys for what I got or red robin, paid less, got more and it would have been delicious… Sad

Great place to eat!!! My Wife and I had The Cheeeesy and Philly respectively. Both were fresh and made to order. I really enjoyed that they were willing to not make my burger well done, unlike Five Guys. I’m a big fan of spicy food and their Sriracha fries were awesome! Overall this place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food was honestly really delicious. On a side note: I’m a volunteer Paramedic in the area and they offered me their Fire/​Rescue/​Police discount. Top notch place. Check it out!!!

Came here for lunch since I always pass by when I pick up chipotle. Burger was thrown on the grill right when I ordered it and the meat looked super fresh. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and brought out my burger to me and regularly checked up on me even though it’s a self serve place like five guys.
Burger tasted awesome and all ingredients were fresh. And best part of all, no wait like other burger joints in the area!

What a great find! Three key things here: Delicious, clean, and great service. It was our first time and one of the employees took the time to explain their menu.
We ordered the philly cheeseburger and Alpine burger. YUM! The best part are the patties, very flavorful with each bite. The fries were perfect too, crisp and salted outside with a soft inside. We also got onion rings which were tasty and made with real onions!
We will be back for sure. We’ll even bring the kid as it seems like a great family friendly place.

I highly recommend the veggie burger! It was delicious and can be customized to however you want it! I had mine made with an upside down siracha bun that was toasted and buttery. The sauces are what make the burger even better and you can add as many as you like! I love the honey mustard and chipotle mayo.
We also had the siracha fries, which were tasty! And the milkshake was amazing! I mixed oreo with mocha, which is a great combo if you like cookies and chocolate.
The staff was friendly and great. Will definitely be returning here when I am in the area again!

We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by here for some burgers. Enough space to hangout for bunch of people and burgers were awesome. I love that thick strawberry milkshake. Wish they put a cherry on it tho!

My family really liked the place, flavors and different options. Customer care was great and the staff had a genuine smile.

I know that there are quite a few options for burger places these days and I never shy away from giving each one a proper try. And boy am I happy I stopped in at Wayback Burger!
The burger was decent sized and not overly greasy like other burger joints. The French fries were excellent, especially for those like me who like all of my fries to be crispy. And make sure you try the banana-​strawberry milkshake. Yum!
The service was great! I tend to ask a lot of questions when I’m trying something new and the cashier was very knowledgeable and gave me great advise.
I would definitely go again and recommend to anyone in the area. Oh and if you try the triple triple, make sure you leave a review and maybe a picture. I want to know what that thing looks like in real life!!!

While down in VA picking up a pinball machine, I found this place. It was either this or Panera, but since I can eat Panera whenever I want Jake’s won. I got a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for roughly $ 10, which I thought was a little steep.
However, the food is good! It’s fresh, it’s not overly greasy either. It’s on the same page as Five Guys but I like this place better. It’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

I got the southwest chipotle burger. It wasn’t bad and had a kick from the jalepenos. From the looks of it, it doesn’t look that great, but it tastes better than it looks. I think it’s just ok. not overly dripping in oil, but it’s still pretty oily. I do like the taste of their meat. It’s tender and different than other places. Not sure how to explain it.
Also had their chili cheese fries. It was ok. Nothing too much to say about it really and I also really liked the vanilla milkshake!

Great service, burgers are perfectly cooked and juicy, and since I am a huge fan of cheese they get an A+++ for the cheeezy burger! Fries are just the right amount of crispy and the large is plenty for family of four. NICE BONUS: spend $ 20 get $ 5 off!
Place is very clean and they even have sweet tea, a southern fav!
