Sunburst Construction

So after all is said and done, I would not recommend Sunburst. We are still mostly happy with the addition we did, but all the below still applies — especially the part about how they did work that we specifically said we did not want — the posts in the center of the view. The kicker is that when we tried to address the issues we were met with a bunch of lip service and more bad craftsmanship. The crew was sent back to our house on several occasions — at least two, maybe three — to re-​do the crappy work they did. It took WAY too long to get Chad out to see the shoddy work himself — which he also admitted was shoddy. When he did come out he promised that everything would get fixed, and even offered up some extra pieces and crayon-​things (which never showed up) to make the posts look better…“we’ll take care of you” he said. Then we get an email saying he’ll get an estimate to us on how much it’ll be to do those extra pieces he had just promised us. Ummm, NO!
The crew tidied up most of the shoddy work (not all of it, and not all «fixes» were fixes, like putting rough cut pine on the ceiling where it should have been finished pine) and we decided to cut our losses. At this point, after over 7 months of this crap, we just don’t want to deal with them anymore. I recommend you look elsewhere if you want your work done well and timely.

We are very happy with our new deck. Sunburst did a great job. I would highly recommend these guys.
We got 2 other quotes from other deck companies who didn’t provide us with all the details I was looking for in regards to wood type, measurements, photos of jobs and detailed prices.
Job was completed in 4 days! 23×14 wood deck with stairs!

Chad can be nice to work with but also has moments of not communicating well. Taking over a week to write/​call back, not taking notes about what you want and have agreed upon and then forgetting about conversations later for instance. For me he was much nicer prior to me signing the contract and kinda changed afterwards and at times got short with me. Rosie in the office was awesome and then crew was good, just had hoped for a smoother process.

We recently hired Sunburst Constrution to give our excisting deck a face lift. It far exceeded our expectations. It was such a transformation, unbelievable. Working with Chad and the crew was always professional. The workmanship of the crew was incredible. Our new deck is beautiful and such a source of pleasure in our day to day life. We highly recommend Sunburst Construction.

I hired Sunburst Construction to install a small Trex deck. They were outstanding. From a customer service perspective, Chad was an excellent salesman. He did not push me into anything, made great recommendations, was very responsive both by phone, text and email, and had good ideas. From a price perspective, their quote was competitive. However, their reputation made me select Sunburst; and was pleased that I did. The actual project work was performed by very competent and friendly staff. I worked with a very good project manager (Corey) who went above and beyond to make sure that the job was done to my satisfaction. The quality and workmanship was excellent. I give Sunburst my highest recommendation.

Sunburst did an amazing job building our new deck and we are very happy with it! From the sales professionalism to the construction crew, we would definitely recommend to those looking for a great addition to your home. Our deck was built with Trex railing and wood decking.

We got our Trex deck built by Sunburst. We picked the Trex over wood because its sturdy, looks great and should last for a very long time. Did the the deck in dark brown, white wrapping with black rods. After getting a few quotes, the boyfriend and I thought Sunburst had some good ideas on how to design it. For example, the black posts help you see the yard better, verses white which interviews with your line of sight. All the quotes came in around the same, so its not that Sunburst was any cheaper –we just decided to go with them.
The crew seemed to show up at random times the first couple days and it seemed the progress was going to be real slow. But, they picked up and our deck from start to finish was done in 5 days. (I think its about 16×20 on one side and wraps around the house about 8×12).
The are only a couple minor issues I can pick on. 1: our gate wouldn’t close correctly after their first day on the job. This wasn’t their fault, its just that the dirt got compacted from all the activity. However, when I came home the gate was wide open with no one in sight. The next couple days I had a rock in front of it so it wouldn’t swing open, and they never put it back. 2: they could have smoothed out some of the dirt after digging it all up at the bottom of the steps to make for a nicer/​safer transition to the grass 3: their crew would smoke on the job (yeah, not unexpected), but there were a couple cigarette butts left in the yard.
Overall, The deck looks nice and we can’t wait to use it once the weather warms up. Despite the little issues, Sunburst did a good job.

I have recommend Sunburst to all my friend and neighbors. I got a great price on my deck. Management was friendly and communicated well about my project. It was completed on time and looks fantastic.
