I have just completed the Defensive Pistol Level 1 Course. It was OUTSTANDING! I am a certified NRA pistol instructor. The Instructor was excellent and the course content was very helpful. The Instructors were very patient with shooters of all skill levels and Safety was paramount at all times during this course. This was not Some Hot Dog shoot em up course. I highly recommend this to any CCP holder or anyone wishing to improve their defensive handgun skills!

Staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve been shooting at SEG for a year now and think it is the best around. I have also attended training courses there. All courses have been A++. The instructors are A#1.

I’ll admit, I am not a regular shooter(in fact, this was my first time ever). I went on a Saturday with my cousin who lives in the area. Although it was my first time, I was assured that they cared about my safety. After a briefing and all measures taken, going onto the range and firing was fantastic! I had no fear at all of anything happening. They don’t mess around at SEG, and I shall return!

Nice place, friendly staff. From my personal experience, they impressed me as being more safety conscious than other local indoor facilities. You will receive a very good safety briefing from the RSO along with instruction on lane usage and rules. I’ve participated in the Defensive Pistol 1 class. Very happy with the class and the instructors. I’ve also enjoyed their friendly competitions staged from time to time: steel shoots and flat range challenges. The one BIG gripe I have is that they don’t have any competitive programs such as IDPA or USPSA. For those who have commented about the long legal wavers, give me a break… it’s a gun range! Take out a membership, I’ve been very happy with mine. I would sincerely recommend that you try them out.

My best friend took me here and we had fun. I know little about guns other than they are DEADLYWEAPONS and not toys but my friend is a airforce vet and wanted to take me for long time. We had fun, fired his guns and enjoyed the time.

I used to love this place … I’ve shot here on a few occasions and I’ve also done the Halloween zombie shoot twice and the Wicked Hunt. The events were a lot of fun and very well put together. Staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The range itself is very nice and very clean.(It’s very expensive though.) … Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, I recently discovered that the family that owns the range donates to a lot of anti gun organizations and political candidates, like Hilary Clinton. So now, I cannot in good conscience line the pockets of someone that does not respect the 2nd Amendment. This is obviously odd for a gun range … ( Some Links: )

This range was clean and well organized with attentive RSO’s. They were happy to give tips and pointers and very conscience of safety. There was several options for gun rental and they made me feel very comfortable being there. I went on a «date night»(unknown when I planned it) but there was still ample range space available. It’s in an office park and was a little tricky to find but my GPS was accurate. If you can’t find it, just listen for gunshots!

Update! After seeing my review on Unilocal, management at silver eagle group looked into my issue and actually called me about it. I explained the entire problem and all the issues that were caused. Without hesitation, SEG stated they would send me a refund for all monies paid for the armorer services. I have since received the check for the entire amount. I have to hand it to SEG, they do listen and care about their customers. I have since been back to the range and will continue to go there after this latest experience with great customer service. WOW!

I came here with my girlfriend to shoot for her first time. At first, the gentleman at the front desk seemed kind of off-putting with his stern face/etc(I’m sure he’s a great guy, but just not exactly what you want to see as it’s your first time). We went in and signed in stating it was pretty much our first time shooting firearms(my second in a long while) and proceeded to the other counter for gun rental, ammo/target purchase/etc. After that, we were briefed by another gentleman. Let me tell you, this guy was great! I wish I could remember his name. He was extremely people friendly and very understanding of how to explain to first-time shooters. It seemed as if this guy was excited for us and really wanted us to do it right and have a good time. A++ Would recommend. Got inside the range, went through 10 – 15 rounds, then handed it off to my girlfriend. She was nervous as all else. I tried to show her what to do, but was just too nervous. The gentleman who helped us earlier was looking through the window(most likely for our safety and the safety of everyone else haha) came out and calmly provided steps of what to do and she was able to go though 10 – 15 rounds as well. It was a fun time. 50 rounds is pretty short, but overall, had a great time. I do, however, have a couple gripes with this place. It’s a little more expensive than other places I’ve been to. It’s $ 25 for non-members compared to $ 20 at other places. $ 40 for a transfer fee compared to $ 20-$ 25. Also, they have«odd-ball» hours. They have normal hours Wednesday — Sunday, but on Monday and Tuesday, members only hours are from 1730 — 2030 hrs. I can only go on Mondays and that time is too late for me. I wish it was open in the morning and during the day like all the other ranges around here.

This is one of the best local facilities you can go to for recreational shooting or training classes. I recently had the opportunity to take a pistol class and I can’t say enough positive things about my experience. The class was so informative and the instructor Stephen Marquez was excellent. I go to this range over other local ranges due to the laser focus on safety. They pay attention to people while they’re on the range and they have a clean well lit facility. If a shooter needs correction on a safety issue the RSO’s will step in and correct the issue quickly and professionally. I have been muzzle swept more then a few times at some of the local competing ranges and I will never return to them. I look forward to taking more classes in the future.

I took a Ladies’ Intro to Handguns class and thought it was great. The facility is really nice and clean and the front desk person was friendly and helpful. I didn’t feel condescended to by anyone there. The instructors gave a overview of guns and how they’re constructed, then an overview of safety and usage, then we practiced with fakes, and then had range time. Everyone was nice and helpful. I liked that they gave individual instruction at the range to everyone at the beginning and then let us move at our own pace, so some got a lot of one-on-one time and some(me) went through two boxes of ammo. I was really nervous in the class that I’d accidentally fire the gun or something, but by the time we were in the range I was pretty confident that I knew what I was doing. I really liked shooting and am not drawn to it for self-defense but I do like trying to get better at hitting my targets. I definitely found a new hobby! I don’t know anything about range fees for comparison, and I see that this place is on the high side, but for what I experienced in my class, I’d pay their fees to be a member of this facility because I liked it, especially as a woman who prefers to be in a clean environment, especially while engaging in a potentially dangerous activity. Also, I did chat with other customers not in the class and one or two employees who weren’t my teachers, and they were nice and offered good information that helped me(as a complete newbie). Only downside for me is the distance and that to get here on a workday after work I have to leave really early to beat traffic.

This past Sunday my dad and I participated in Silver Eagle’s Intro to Handgun class and we were very happy with it. The facility is organized and clean and the staff is friendly. Our class was a pretty wide cross-section of experience and backgrounds. A few retired/ex military who hadn’t shot in years, a family of three(it was mom’s birthday present!), a dad and his teenage son and a few who had been shooting for years. The trainers David and Topher did a great job and the class itself was thorough and informative. It was split into about 1:30 of class room and then an hour or so of range time. They both did a really good job giving one-on-one attention to the people in the class that needed it when we were out on the range. At no point did we feel rushed when it got to the shooting. Dad and I both rented pistols with 50 round boxes of ammo. Pistol rental is $ 15/hour and with rentals you have to buy their ammo, which makes sense so they know what’s being run through their guns. The rental did include eyes and ear protection, though I’m not sure if that’s in general or because we were with a class. For the $ 135/head cost of the class it would be nice if a pistol rental would be included. They do let you know up front so it’s not like it was a surprise. It’s just a thought because by the time you add the $ 15 pistol rental and another $ 20 for a box of 50 rounds you’re $ 170 for the class per person. We ended up swapping out the pistols for two other models and went through another box of ammo. There wasn’t an extra charge to swap out the guns, we just had to buy the ammo. Even though the class was officially over they let us go back into the range and shoot some more with the new pistols. I would definitely recommend the class to anyone, new shooter or someone just looking to brush up on the fundamentals.

Just visited for first time and the people are very nice here. Seems they all like to work there and are helpful not condescending like most«experts» or guys tend to be at ranges. I think their prices are a bit high in comparison and would give them a 5 if the guest fees and membership wasn’t as high. I think if it were $ 25 mo., and $ 10 for guest fee, they would get more people to sign up. But I will return again! Hopefully future visits validate cost?! Def recommend over other local ranges.

Pros: very nice facilities, mando safety brief, good location and nice selection of firearms, gear, apparel and on-site firearms courses. Cons: price. Walk-in without a membership comes to $ 25 dollars per lane per hour. I came here to sight in a new weapon and it was a smooth process. The staff got me fixed up real quick(once I completed the compliance and range agreement electronic paperwork at the welcome terminal). I felt that the staff was thorough in explaining the safety rules without being either too lax or too overbearing. Since it was a Tuesday afternoon I really had the range to myself and I did not feel like there was a RSO awkwardly standing there scrutinizing my every move. I will definitely be back to get some more trigger time. I will say cost could be a bit of a deterrent for some but these folks have a nice range and decent clientele. If you want to save a little cash you can drive to Chantilly, but why? Five dollars more and you can shoot right here in central Loudoun.

**** 4.5 stars ******* Went shooting at a range for the first time here today. Really nice facility! Staff was friendly but the process lacked a bit of direction. We were a little bit lost about where to go next after getting checking in. The RSO Carl was very helpful and informative, not to mention a really nice guy! He took his time with us, I didn’t feel rushed at all. Being newbies I half expected some kind of basic instruction but I guess that’s what the classes they offer are for. My husband and I will be going back often as we purchased memberships. I highly recommend this place!

Best range I’ve ever been to. Rented out one of the ranges and two of the back rooms for an event. The service was outstanding. The training very helpful, thorough, and quick. We rented several 9 mm, an AR, an AK, and a custom rifle. Had an awesome time and will highly recommend it for groups and a classy range experience. bottom line — you should of been there by now.

Cleanest gun range I’ve ever been to. Most expensive gun range I’ve ever been to. But if you’re about to baptize your liberal relatives in gun powder fumes and target practice for the July 4th holiday so you can show them what being American is really about then you can’t really skimp.

The Mister and I shot at Silver Eagle on a Saturday date night. This is a highly professional, clean, safe range. We will definitely be back. There are ten lanes in the range used for public shooting. It is a bit cramped without much space between the wall and each lane. It’s roomier than Sharpshooters, but only about a third as much space as NRA. The range attendant was somewhat heavy-handed, but to be fair to him, the people in the lane next to us clearly didn’t know what they were doing. You can rent guns, but then must buy their ammo. Was not impressed with their selection of targets; we will bring our own next time. They have a lot of merchandise for sale — including guns.

Fact: Firing a gun was singlehandedly the most terrifying experience of my life. I may or may not have started crying at one point… though, to be fair, that was more due to the shell casing that made its way DOWNTHEFRONTOFMYDRESS and burned me in two spots. True story. And the kind of thing what would ONLYHAPPENTOME. Anyway. All of that being said, I can’t deny the fact that there’s something about the act of shooting a firearm that does something to you. People say it makes you feel powerful, it does. In a baby-rabbit-with-too-much-bravado kind of way, but nonetheless. It’s a powerful kind of fear, and despite all the safety rules that both the technicians AND my boyfriend were drilling into me(always keep the barrel pointed downrange, never point a gun at something you don’t intend to kill, finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot, etc, etc), it was still a sobering experience to hold a gun in my hands. I got to shoot a .22(my favorite of the bunch), a 9 mm(shocking, scary, and surprisingly hard to shoot — especially given it’s the most common kind of handgun), and even an AR. I think I was better at shooting the AR than the 9 mm, actually. The .22 was nice and light for me, didn’t have much kickback, and was the easiest for me to control. Buuuut, the manfriend also tells me that a .22 wouldn’t be enough to stop a heroin-enraged crazy person from charging at me, so I shouldn’t get too comfortable. Le sigh. Being that this was(obviously) my first time at a shooting range EVER, I don’t have any basis for comparison, but I will say that Silver Eagle Group seemed pretty clean, their staff was relatively friendly(especially in response to what I’m sure was nothing but doe-eyed staring from me as I looked around), and my boyfriend says it’s one of the nicest in the area. I guess really the only negative was that I didn’t like how they charge up the wazoo for paper targets.(Seriously, $ 12 for some sheets of paper? Next time I’ll just print out an 8×11 screenshot from The Walking Dead and call it a day.) I don’t know how much it is to rent a gun, but if you don’t own there are plenty just sitting in the display case calling for you to pick ‘em on up and give ‘em a spin. They also have a showroom and sell guns here. So, even through all the fear and the tears and general dread that surrounded the morning, it may surprise you to hear that I’m not completely put off from the idea of shooting again. I’ll probably need a little bit of time to recover from the experience because it appears I am a total pansy, but I’m pretty interested in learning how to handle myself properly. Besides, I was getting pretty good towards the end.
