My wife and I started training at Kore 18 months ago and it has truly changed our lives. The staff are some of the highest ranked Krav Maga Global(«KMG») instructors in the country and are knowledgeable, talented and nurturing. They truly care about their students(…The Tribe!) and have created a wholly positive training environment. There is a great ratio of men and women who train at Kore. The gym is clean and bright and is well-stocked with all of the necessary training equipment(… a heavy-bag farm, pads, shields, training knives, plastic guns, etc., etc.). The weekly course schedule is varied and includes not only combat kickboxing, beginner classes, advanced classes, weapons-centric classes and contact sparring(for advanced students). Given the international connections that the staff has with the KMG community, there are frequently expert level, global/international team members visiting the gym. Membership also includes specialized seminars on a wide range of practical Krav applications and scenarios. Most of all, it’s fun. In addition to being great for confidence, increased safety and overall fitness. It’s really, really fun and I would recommend Kore Krav to anyone interested in learning Krav Maga. Top notch. 5-stars.

I started training at Kore Krav Maga with my daughter back in the spring. It has been an amazing journey. We haven’t been able to come as consistently as we’d like, but we do our best. All the staff are consumate professionals! Very knowledgeable and able to teach in a way that’s fun and stays with you. I get a lot out of Dan’s and Amy’s heavy bag classes. Tammy will work with you through whatever issues come up. She has so much energy its painfu watching her sometimes! Brian and Des are awesome! They make class fun and relevant to every day situations. I plan to continue my training with KKM as long as they will have me!

I visited Kore Krav Maga last year for a week of instructor training, and I was totally impressed by the way that the McCrackens run their school. First thing I noticed is that everything is clean, which is really important when you’re training in close contact with people, and especially if you ever do any training on the ground. Next, I noticed how friendly all of the students and instructors were. The culture of the place is very welcoming. I can be a bit shy at first, so having people go out of their way to say hello and show me around was pretty great. Lastly, I want to mention the huge amount of knowledge the instructors bring to their students. For instance, the lead instructor, Tammy McCracken, is the Director of the US Women’s Division for Krav Maga Global, and she’s constantly going to seminars and conferences and the like to learn more about how people can defend themselves. They have created an environment where all people, regardless of size/age/ability, can train together and not feel awkward or like they don’t belong. The benefits of making this your regular gym can’t be understated — fitness, self defense, friendship, empowerment… the list just keeps going. Love this place!

I have been going to Kore Krav Maga since before Chief Instructor Tammy Yard McCracken opened the current facility on Red Rum Dr in 2013. I have been training under Tammy since around November 2012, when she first offered an intensive Krav Maga intro seminar out of the CrossFit Impavidus gym in Ashburn. Prior to joining Kore, I had very little exposure to martial arts. From the very beginning, Tammy and Assistant Instructors Dan McCracken and Dylan McCracken encouraged my interest in learning Krav Maga. They have provided both a nurturing and challenging training environment. Tammy, in particular, should be lauded for her ability to create a dynamic and dedicated practitioner community from the ground up. She is to be commended for her business savvy and professionalism, not to mention her exceptional talent and commitment as a Krav Maga instructor. I cannot recommend Kore more highly. If you are interested in martial arts, in general, or Krav Maga, in particular, there is no better place to train than at Kore Krav Maga!

If you are looking to learn self defense and get exercise in a positive environment then Kore Krav Maga is the place for you. From the very first day you will learn defenses you can use immediately. I find Kore to be a very welcoming school. Everyone there is helpful and the students are all there to learn and not out to prove who is the toughest on the mat. I love being a part of the school and I have made many friends there.

I am very happy with Kore Krav Maga. The lead instructor, Tammy, has a great ability to explain things in a way that makes sense to me. The assistant instructors, Dan and Andre, bring extra«real-world» experience in that they have both been involved in law enforcement for many years. Kore has also been expanding their offerings beyond Krav Maga to include yoga, primal move, and special women’s only self-protection classes. Kore is not a fitness program dressed up as martial art, nor is it absurdly expensive as some Krav programs have become since Krav became cool in Hollywood. Rather, it’s real self-protection training, with friendly and helpful instructors, at a reasonable cost. In case you are wondering, no, I’m not a paid shill — just a happy customer and member of the«Kore tribe.»
