First visit. Stopped in for a mid-week late lunch. Ordered a couple slices and salad. Counter service was attentive. Ordered a Caesar salad and slices of the Papa Joe. Food was pretty good. Ate outdoors on a pleasant afternoon. It was enjoyable. Very casual.

I’ve given this place a few tries and well… it’s close but just not there. The biggest problem is the sauce is just too sweet and it ruins everything. My family got pizza and I had a chicken parm sub. The pizza was charred and my kids wouldn’t eat it, they just picked at the non burn spots and they said the sauce tasted funny. The chicken parm sub was huge and only came in the one size but I will give them a lot of credit for actually using a breaded chicken cutlet as chicken parm should be, but the sauce is so sweet it ruins the sub. The first time we went there the service was okay– an older woman literally sat two feet from our table watching us eat. I think she was the owner’s mom or something and she was our server but we could actually touch her from where she parked herself and it made us really uncomfortable. The second time we went we got a young man, a teenager, as a server and he was excellent, very friendly and on top of everything… and he gave us room. There are better places in Ashburn but this one is close. I’m going to go back once per year to see if they have changed their sauce. Fingers crossed that they do.

Horrible customer service! I called to place a pick up order and told the guy I want to use a coupon from the X site. He said OK. Everything was fine until I went to the place and unfortunately had to deal with a very rude and unpleasant employee. I showed her my phone for the coupon. She had such a weird and unpleasant reaction, saying«What is this?» I was puzzled and should have just left that place. You see a coupon for the first time in your life? I showed it again and she said«That’s not us!!!» So, this is not Johnny’s? Is this a joke? Then she said, yes, this is Johnny’s, but then she said I cannot use the coupon. The unpleasant and rude style of this employee who is supposed to represent this neighborhood pizza place is simply scary and unacceptable. Who wants to deal with an interrogation-room style just to use a cheap coupon?! I was so frustrated with her attitude and cannot believe I had to be exposed to this kind of rudeness. I was about to leave without getting my order as this person went on with her inappropriate style of talking loudly and rudely. Even the cook walked out and he said he was sorry, but he wasn’t the one who needed to apologize. Then suddenly she decided that I could use the coupon. It was so weird and unpleasant. I should have read the reviews before going there. Stay away from this place for peace of mind! Pizza? Well, let’s talk about some education first. Or hire people who know basic communication skills and a little bit of politeness, maybe. Then, we can start discussing the quality of pizza.

We went with meals, excellent! Young waiter was attentive and nice. We are traveling and ate here two nights and were pleased with both!

Loved our experience tonight. We went there for grand opening a few months ago and it was so-so. Tonight, the pizza was fabulous as well as the service. We have some great pizza places in Ashburn… Rubino’s and Broadland’s…the thing that separates this place is it has a better ambiance and better wine! Really did enjoy ourselves! Loved it!!!

We ordered a slice of Sicilian cheese and regular cheese slice. Pizza was good and slices were huge. We will go there again for a quick, cheap lunch.

We ordered pizza for the first time. Unfortunetly this is yet another place that leaves you feeling disappointed. Why is finding a GREAT pizza in Loudoun County so difficult? We bought the pizza that had everything on it and the crust around the edges was good, it has a nice flavor to it, however, the rest was very soggy. We had to eat this with a knife and fork becaues it was impossible to pick up to eat. The sauce was bland and there was very little cheese. Not the NY style pizza we grew to love before moving here. We ordered a second pizza for the kids that was just mozzerella and pepperoni, nothing else. They loved it. Friendly customer service, easy to place phone order. Will we go back… no.

We have tried Johnny’s a few times since they opened. The reason for the two stars is the slow service. We have had to wait for our takeout much longer than the quoted length of time and tonight’s incident caused us to wait an hour when the quoted time was 20 – 25 min. Evidently there was an incident causing them to have to remake the pizza. Nobody communicated this to us while we waited and waited and waited. When my husband complained she explained what happened. They offered us a free garlic knot or bottle of soda-no thanks. After he pushed my husband was given $ 10 gift certificate for the long wait. On the plus side the pizza is tasty and slices are large however there are plenty of other quicker local pizza joints. PLEASE Johnny’s improve your service as we love your location and would be happy to be able to continue supporting your business.

I’ve had a couple of 4 star and a couple of 2 star experiences. Today the pizza sauce was too sweet with little/no garlic flavor. Frankly, it just wasn’t enjoyable. Won’t be back for a while. It’s too bad.

1. Service was not good 2. Waited more than ½ hour for one steak and cheese and 2 appetizers on my carry-out order. 3. The sub was not the worst but was not the best. Meat was a bit over cooked and bland. Cheese evaporated. Bread a bit soggy. 4. Wings, your regular everywhere wings. I ordered ½ bbq ½ hot. Seem like they were both drowned in Frank’s Red hot. I guess they do put that sh8 on everything. 5. The fried ravioli were under cook. I will go back and try the pizza but that’s about it. Once I try it I will rate it just based of that.

We tried Johnny’s for the first time the other night and both enjoyed it. I got the BBQ chicken pizza slice and my boyfriend got a calzone. I had never seen one done the way his was but it was tasty! My pizza was delicious. It is on the pricier slide for pizza but worth it.

The pizza seemed to have been sitting there for a while. My friend and I each got a slice of pizza and it was ok. My friend got the meat pizza which had 3 different kinds of meat in it and dripping of oil which was a little gross. I got the one with a couple of different meats at well as peppers and such on it. It was ok. I want to say that it was a little pricier for the pizza. I believe it was $ 3.75? give or take a few cents for each slice. I’ve experienced much better at Ciro’s in Centreville for cheaper. But not only the price, their quality and variety is much better. I also went to use the restroom. First, it was gross. Second, they had no soap in the women’s bathroom. I had to just use hand sanitizer I had. Later that night, both, my friend and I’s stomach was sort of hurting.

Save yourself the trouble. My wife ordered two pies one cheese one pepperoni and waited and waited and waited. Turns out the pies were made but never given to us. What we did find out was they simply tossed cold pepperoni on cheese pizza after it was baked. Of course like the other reviews the pizza was not hot at all. You think they could have just offered to remake the pizza! I spoke to the manger over the phone later that evening who apologized for the wait and the pizza. He was going to refund our order and send a voucher so we could give them another shot. Well we are still waiting for that refund and voucher(over a month ago). The cheese pizza was pretty good, the pepperoni was obviously not quite right. I’m afraid this establishment falls into the tried it and won’t be back category.

Pretty good pizza, not great, doesn’t have much of a kick to it and kinda bland spices– if any. However, they do carry several varieties with heaps of toppings. Ladies at the counter weren’t especially nice– borderline rude actually. But I like to support small local businesses, so we’ll still go until I grow tired of the pizza or the owners attitudes.

Terrific pizza by the slice. Service was friendly and quick. Ignore some of the earlier review this is a family restaurant so for crying out loud it takes awhile to get everything together. We’ve been three times and the service and food gets better each time. The pizza types are creative, the slices enormous and the quality excellent. This puts the other local pizza joints to shame.

This place had good service since I was the only one there at 7:30pm. People working there are nice and friendly asked me if I needed water and brought me napkins when they saw me eating without it. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and a gyro my thinking is if you claim to be NY style you have to be able to make these 2 items. First the cheese pizza came out fairly quickly seemed like it had a lot of cheese at first but it was just too oily. It was warm not hot. However, I did like the crust. The gyro was huge just like the menu mentioned it had some what fresh vegetables but the meat seamed old since it was hard on edges and not easy to take down. Bread was nice and warm. I did ask about the Philly and the guy behind the counter claimed it was the best. I guess I will be going back to try that but so far I miss Sals.

Eating at this restaurant is what we call a «One and Done». Out of the gate we had a bad experience. We ordered the promotional coupon pizza, wings and soda and it was very difficult for them to get the order right. They told us 30 — 40 minutes for us to pick our order up. We arrived at the 35 minute mark and found ice cold pizza when we arrived home in Broadlands. We ate some of it and the rest went in the trash. As I said, this is a one and done experience — we won’t be back.

This place is just ok overall. I just went once, had pizza and garlic knots. The pizza crust is not good, the sauce was ok, and pepperoni and cheese are universally good, so nothing special there. If the pizza isn’t great, isn’t any better than the big chains, why go? The staff was friendly and helpful, if maybe a little disorganized. At one point a guy came up to the guy at the register and asked why he hadn’t told the guy that I was getting garlic knots. I don’t know if they don’t have a point of sale system, or what. There have been other pizza places in this spot, I assume this one won’t last any longer than the others. Oh well.

I wish I could give it zero stars…1 is generous. Let me start by saying our first experience was bad, but we gave it a second shot. Fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice, shame on me. The first time we went, we dined there. It was not crowded at all… our table of 6 and another family of 4. They took our orders, got the drinks and garlic knots out ok, but it took a long time for the pizza to come out… I’d say about 40 minutes? We didn’t have complicated orders, we ordered one cheese and one veggie. So we eat, pizza is eh — so so… and they never came back to refill drinks. Find it hard to believe they are ‘champion’ pizza winners. I finally got up and asked for a box for my leftovers… THEYBROUGHTME A DIRTYBOX. I opened the box and it had grease stains and trash in it — disgusting. That right there should’ve been a clue to not come back. Second time we came back, our kids wanted to go… We went on a Friday night. Much like another reviewer, we never got our order and the server blamed everyone but himself. He was 15 years old if he was a day. I asked them to cancel the salad and garlic knots after we received our pizza 40 – 50 minutes after placing the order(no joke). Then, the bill was wrong. I was so mad, I just paid the bill rather than wait for them to fix it because 1) the woman who rang me up had an attitude, even though SHE got my bill wrong and 2) I didn’t want to be in that place any longer. NEVER.AGAIN.NEVER.EVER.EVER. Stay away!

Johnny’s opened in what used to be where Sal’s pizza was in the corner of the Safeway shopping plaza by the fountain. This is the third pizza business we’ve seen in this location since we bought our house in the Broadlands several years ago. Initial reports on the Broadlands discussion forum were pretty good, so we gave it a try last night. I thought the pizza was pretty good. They have a large variety of pizzas already made that they sell by the slice up front, or you can order whatever you want from the menu. I tried the spinach pizza and the meatinator, and they were both good. I also heard the buffalo chicken and the baked ziti pizza are good. The slices are HUGE and piled high with toppings. Oh, and they serve COKE products!(Thumbs up since my wife and I are Coke addicts.) The service was friendly and eager to please but needs some training and experience. The manager and our server were very attentive and checked on us frequently to ask if they could get anything for us. With some training and experience, they will figure out how to anticipate basic things that you tend to take for granted at most other restaurants. Probably just ironing out the wrinkles since they just opened. I’m sure we’ll be back to give it another try.
