Lush

We were looking for a place to grab some refreshments and the kind gentleman at the tattoo parlor directed to Lush. They have wine list liquor and even craft beer at very very reasonable prices. The owner was super nice and gave us directions and tips for the beach.

It’s a very convenient sore for me and I really like it. By and far the most civilized option in town. Prosecco? Yup. Dom? You got it. Don q? For sure. Mad dog 20 – 20? No way. No airplane bottles, that’s probably a plus. No shoes? Get outta there. Dogs? Come on in, all the grain free nom-​gmo free range gluten free dog treats your puppy could want. Ps I’m a dog. Woof.

Great liquor store in town. Came here since we were at the Korean taco place next door and wanted something to drink. They had wine tastings and happened to have a tasting for a Sancerre rosé. We tried it and bought a bottle. The service was great and I’d recommend coming for anyone in town!

For a small store, Lush has a wonderful selection. It has a great variety of quality microbrew beer and top quality wines and liquors, this store doesn’t waste space with garbage. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and eager to help. I find the prices to be slightly higher for the top quality wines such as Caymus and Cakebread than they are in a larger store, but the convenience of not having to drive out of town to pick something up more than makes up for the marginal price difference.

Best wine shop in Asbury. Actually, it’s the only wine shop in Asbury. Anyway lots of fun esoteric wines and microbrew. Even if there was a choice, I would pick this place. If you don’t recognize any of the labels on the shelf, that’s a good thing, just ask the staff, they’re happy to help.

Lush has a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor! Plus they have a great staff that is always eager to help you find exactly what you are looking for! Definitely recommend this shop!

Great selection, fun atmosphere, nifty arrangements such as wines organized by cuisine. Also carries quality beers in the fridge: I found a four-​pack of Dogfish Head Burton Baton, which is about as amazing as it gets. Speaking of the fridge, all of their white wines are available chilled. The owners clearly favor the good stuff and don’t bother with the usual huge displays of Sutter Home swill.

Exactly what the Northern Shore needed! Visiting BYOs have been less than positive with the need to visit the inferior (and overpriced for the wine quality) at liquor stores in Bradley, Spring Lake, etc. Lush has a nice selection and detailed description of each wine — and no Bud in the beer section!

I gave this rating of 5 stars because I wanted to give a 6 pack of beer, sampler pack for a pre-​Christmas Eve gift for everyone from my sisters to their boyfriends and my step dad, and myself. We all loved the winter beers. The Oatmeal was really the best one we had because it was a dark beer but it had a subtle bite to it.

My sister Lindsay and her boyfriend were very interested in both the New Castle, The Warmer by Sierra Nevada, and the Oatmeal.
My personal favorite was really hard to select but I really enjoyed the Smutty Nose and Never Summer.
My sister Jill and her boyfriend liked a lot of them but I think the Smutty Nose got them good with a little «extra hops action.»
I’m very proud to have selected this 6 pack not only as a local small business but as a gift that keeps on giving.
My family said «I have great taste when it comes to getting beer recommendations.»

Lush is exactly the kind of business downtown Asbury needed: a classy but affordable wine store that handily supports the area’s many BYOs. Before Lush opened, the closest liquor store was the packaged goods section of Clancy’s Tavern, a strip mall dive with a tiny selection that I would only visit when absolutely desperate.
Now you can walk into Lush and be greeted with plenty of extremely well-​organized, clearly labeled wine shelves that feature categories based on what drinks to bring to each local restaurant, or what type of cuisine you plan to have it with. You can also pick by country of origin like at any other wine store, or simply ask the extremely helpful staff for their recommendations. Sign up for the mailing list to find out when their tastings are. I can’t wait for the upcoming wine & cheese event!
Don’t forget to check out the beers and spirits toward the back. There’s a ton of awesome, uncommon stuff in addition to all the standards. My man literally gasped out loud when he saw they carry Bulleit rye and I coudn’t believe my luck when I went in for martini supplies and saw they actually had orange bitters!

Friend owns this — so I might be biased, but pop in for a bottle of wine, what do you have to lose?
I love how spacious and undusty and uncramped this place is — you feel exhilarated and ready to partake in some grappa.
My favorite part is the sections — chicken, fish, restaurants (which includes some very fine pink sake) among other things.
Very well-​organized and fun.

I completely agree, just what Asbury needed. Also, given how much thought has gone into the inventory, you’d expect it to be expensive. Not true! With the new Wegman’s liquor store and Spritis in Ocean Township, Lush is more than holding its own in terms of price. Even better is that you’re not restricted to some bottom-​of-​the-​barrel wine when looking to go cheap. I’ve tried 3 of their bottles under $ 9 and they’re not just OK for the price point, but they’re actually GOOD! I’m looking forward to trying my next bottle. And the next…

On a random walk through downtown Asbury Park I came across this wonderful store and its affable owner, (with an accent I couldn’t quite place… english? irish? Jersey?), and was so pleased I walked away with two bottles of reasonably priced wine and a six pack of Magic Hat #9. Almost bought a bottle of tequila too.
The store layout is great, the prices very reasonable and the knowledgeable staff was eager to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.

While heading to a party Memorial Day weekend in AP, I needed to grab a bottle of wine so I Googled «wine» while driving near Cookman and Lush came up. I was right there, so I went in. I loved the way the place was set up (by matching food, by activity, by local BYO restaurant). Plus they had a wall of cold beer and regular booze too. I was so impressed I stopped back in that weekend to stock up on some stuff. They gave me great recommendations and I couldn’t believe how reasonable it was. A great addition to Asbury Park for sure!
