This place is a disaster. The prices are insanely high, the owner is extremely rude, and is a liar. Wonder how they are still in business. I hope anybody who goes to this shop looks at Unilocal before hand!!!

I am very careful with my negative star ratings since they can seriously impact a business. However, this place has well deserved this star rating.
I called on the phone to get a price and availability on an idli maker. The lady refused to give me a price quote, saying, ‘Different, different price, you come here’. I live 50 miles away (one way). I told her I needed a price and to know if its in stock, before I came down all the way on my weekend. Nothing doing. She started to yell at me that no price quote on phone is possible and she cannot check stock to see if they have a 4 layer idli maker. Wow! Is this store for real, or a front for money laundering?
Frankly, if someone is so unhelpful on the phone, it is a red flag that this is not a good store. On my previous visits there, I noticed dusty selections, and high prices. This place is opposite Udipi Palace where i go to eat dosas, so I often stop to pick up a small Indian kitchen tool or appliance. The idli maker is a specialty item not found in American stores, else I’d buy one closer to home.
Afterwards, I discovered that Amazon carries it with no tax and free delivery which is a better option than the long drive. I also read on Unilocal about the broken appliances they sell. Someone should report this business to the Federal Trade Commission, and the CA State Attorney General’s office. This practice is common in India, where good are in short supply, and demand is great. Unethical selling practices are rampant there. However, we don’t need this in the USA! Shape up or ship out!

Needed one safety valve for hawkins pressure cooker. Owner is selling the $ 0.33 item for $ 5.00 which is 15 times the cost. Checked online, the same item sells for $ 1.50 max.

I hope i can give 0 star, I went to buy some kitchenettes but everything looks old, I do not recommend this place. The owner is rude & does not know how to talk with customer.

I think twice before writing a bad review but this business deserves a poor rating.
The owner of this store is a liar and a fraud. DO NOT support such a bad business practice. They knowingly sell broken appliances and fail to take responsibility to help their customers and blatantly lie to their customers. No respect and no concern for they people they serve.
Again, this store is absolutely bogus, the owner is a ruthless liar and a thief. We have reported them to the better business bureau. Do not support this business.
