Blue Agave Mexican Grill

Okay so I found this place at random after going to the Nixon museum. It looked good so me and my boyfriend checked it out. This place has everything: great presentation, great quality, and really reasonable prices. We even decided to come here on Valentine’s Day and everything was perfect once again. We’ve gotten the carnitas, plantain nachos, steak quesadilla, salads and everything looks and tastes amazing. I’d definitely recommend this place for good, though not entirely authentic Mexican food.

Pros:
— Fish tacos — crisp batter
— Fresh made tortillas, you can see them make it on the spot
— Extensive salsa bar that is maintained
— Cauldron of complimentary beans
— Fair price point (then again, I did go on a Tuesday)
Cons:
— The other tacos were not memorable (I think I got asada and al pastor)

Have been here a few times, first time the week they opened. Since opening they have not had a working fountain drink machine??? Went in today and the menu has been scaled back (which was pretty minimal to begin with) to just tacos & burritos??? No more Carne Asada Plate? No avocado. Nobody in there at lunch time. They just seem like they are trying to fail. Fish & Shrimp tacos were just OK.

5 stars all around. Food is amazing not small street tacos and the customer service everyone is so nice and helpful. Even the server that gave us our food she was a sweetheart and apologized for not having our food packed to go. Honest mistake. We will be back again!

Just finished my to go food from here. I give it 3 stars. Handmade tortillas are always good. The shrimp tacos are the only thing that saves this place for me. I also had some asada tacos. BLAND as heck even after salt lemon and salsa. Also the al pastor meat had a very bad flavor. I’d give it a two had it not been for the shrimp tacos.
Also the service is bad. No care or worry in the world for a new customer at a new business. An older woman at the cashier was not helpful. I asked for a shrimp burrito (not on the menu) and she wanted to charge me almost $ 12 to make a shrimp burrito… Didn’t it was like when you ask McDonald’s employees for more ketchup or bbq sauce.

The Good: $ 1 tacos; variety of meats, including shrimp; clean place.
The Bad: 40 minute wait for tacos; the pot of free beans remained empty; salsa bar not adequately stocked; staff confused orders.

Unilocal says this place is HOT and NEW and let me tell you it sure is. We had carne asada, chicken, al pastor, carnitas, and shrimp. They were all to die for. I love the self serve salsa bar with ALL the fixin’s plus the free homemade pintos. The tortillas are also handmade which you can really tell. The customer service was excellent as it usually is at these small taco shops. Plus all these tacos paired nicely with a Mexican Coke! Highly recommend coming here. I know this place is going to take off soon!

Place is legit. $ 1.50 for a fish, shrimp, and or meat taco??? Handmade tortillas are bangin. Salsa bar and free pintos.
TT $ 1 tacos…

We’ve eaten here twice in the last month, and my family loves the tacos. We’ve tried all their tacos, but our favorite by far is the fish taco, $ 1 on taco Tuesdays, you can’t find a better deal. The FREE beans are really good and I’m not much of a bean lover. Great salsa bar too. For the price we eat 3 — 5 tacos per person. The place is clean and the food is made fresh to order, see ya there on Tuesday.

I ordered 4 tacos; fish, shrimp, al pastor and asada. Amazing tacos to say the least. Fresh and full of flavor! Tortillas are handmade and delicious!
The salsa/​condiment bar is fully stocked and clean with complimentary frijoles.
The establishment is well kept and the staff is friendly.
Each taco is $ 1.50 and $ 1 on «Taco Tuesday» — killer prices!
I highly recommend this place and hope they are here to stay.

I came here on taco Tuesday and was not disappointed! The best tacos here are the Carne asada, al pastor & shrimp. Tried the carnitas and they were subpar. Also FYI they hand make their tortillas which makes such a big difference If you are in the Cerritos /​artesia area this place is def worth trying !!

One of the best Mexican food I’ve encountered around my area that isn’t at Long Beach, Compton, or LA. I won’t ever have to drive such a far distance for delicious and cheap tacos and burritos! It is much less greasy than many food trucks, which is why I consider this place to be somewhat healthy and a go to place whenever I crave for mexican food yet want it to be a tad bit healthy. :D

I went during taco Tuesday. Their grill is really small, and they make everything to order. It took over thirty minutes for my food to come out because there where 3 people in front of me. Their salsa bar was barren when I came. At 7:30 P.M. All there was left was their super spicy salsa. There was no green salsa, cilantro, chunky salsa, beans, and onions.
Tasted good though, but the wait and barren salsa bar is a turn off.

As I sauntered insided, I noticed–
Free fiber (by way of beans)
A finely equipped salsa bar, with pico de gallo, green sauce, chipotle sauce, marinated onions etc.
Being Taco Tuesday, I ordered… a salad. Just kidding, I ordered tacos (el pastor, carne asada & shrimp).
After a visit to the salsa bar
Everything was delicious! Food here is made to order. Your choice of flour or corn tortillas, which are pressed right in front of you. The shrimp & fish are battered and fried as soon as you plop down your money. I can’t decide whether my favorite was the shrimp or el pastor. Not to say the carne asada was bush league in any way, as it was tasty as well. The el pastor was tender and had the delicious pastor flavor with each bite. The shrimp, on the other hand, reminded me of shrimp tempura, with a light, flaky breading around shrimp that were well-​sized. For only $ 3.27, a great lunch was had with my tummy satiated & my tastebuds delighted.
Besides tacos, Blue Agave Mexican Grill serves burritos, quesadillas, Jamaica, canned, bottled & fountain drinks
Service was good. The staff were friendly & accommodating. There can be a wait which varies, depending upon how many ordered prior to your visit. Remember, everything is made to order. For me, freshness counts, so I don’t mind waiting a bit. Table seating for about 30 people, there’s not that much in the way of ambiance, but c’mon, you’re here for cheap & good eats!
Parking is in a private lot, shared by TJ’s subs, Belly Bombz Kitchen & other businesses.
Blue Agave Mexican Grill is my new go-​to Taco Tuesday spot. $ 1 tacos, including shrimp & fish?!? Count me in, baby! The food’s great & I enjoy how low key the taqueria is. Although, after people read this, it may not stay low key for long ;p

Fresh new taco place in the Artesia/​Cerritos area. The place was clean, staff were friendly and food was good. I tried the carne asada tacos made with fresh tortillas. Gotta love $ 1.50 fresh tacos with a well stocked salsa bar! As others have mentioned — food takes a bit of time to prepare. However, I am use to waiting for freshly made tortillas and know the wait is worth it! The free beans are another reason this place will be added to my list of favorite quick, fresh Mexican spots!

WOW!!! This was my first time here, and this place did not disappoint. My two buddies & I were looking for local Taco Tuesday spot to go to for lunch. We surely scored with this place. Asada, Al Pastor, Chicken, Carnitas, Fish and their Shrimp tacos are all $ 1 on Tuesday. The Al Pastor & Shrimp tacos were definitely my favorite! To add to the sweetness, their tortillas are freshly made there, and they offer complimentary pinto beans with your order along with a neat little salsa bar to pair with your food.
I would also like to add that the service was exceptional. The young lady working today was very polite and provided us with GREAT service. Very clean & friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back to check out the rest of their menu. Looking forward to next Tuesday! :D

Best new taco spot in the area! There tacos are amazing and have a killer taco Tuesday with there $ 1 all tacos deal and that includes there new fish and shrimp tacos. Also they have complimentary pinto beans and a great salsa bar that goes great with all there tacos. Very clean and friendly staff. Definitely will be back soon.

Fell In love with this little hole in the wall taco place. Decided to come by one day during work since i work two stores down. First thing I noticed was how clean and cozy the restaurant was. I was then greeted by the owners who were sweet (-; the guy even gave me a free drink of their Jamaica drink. I ordered two carne Asada tacos and added salsa and pico de gallo from their salsa bar (-: they have free beans! Cheap prices for good food.
I will be back to try their quesadillas.

Two stars because the tacos were good.
Low rating for having to wait a long time for food. The grill is small and they make 1 taco at a time instead of many like the should.
If they speed up the orders then id give them 4 stars.

This is my first time here and so far I like it… Place is clean the food is fresh tasty!
I had 4 tacos one of each meat and I love them.
I’m coming back to try the rest of the menu!
