Charged $ 150 to come out for an estimate to look at a small area of mold on a basement wall. Real estate agent let them in for the estimate. Within hours they were calling, demanding credit card payment for the estimate. That’s fine… but then they took their sweet time of nearly a week to actually provide the estimate!
And, the estimate was egregiously high! Even though the initial $ 150 comes out of the bill when you have the work done, the ServPro cost was still 47% more than a local competitor who had me a written free estimate the same day! Needless to say, I had the work done by the competitor.
But, ServPro managed to make an easy $ 150 from me.

I have to send a shout-out to SERVPRO. After the derecho we had water in our basement, and I was concerned about mold. An estimator from SERVPRO came and checked everything out and stated that I did not have to worry about a leaky basement or mold. Most importantly, the rep said that we did not need a clean-up service and that the issue would resolve itself.
Not trying to jack me up for services that I don’t need? I like it! Five stars for honesty and professionalism.
