I love my local North Arlington YMCA. The staff is friendly, the classes are fun and motivational and the price is reasonable. The facilities are clean and well– managed and I can workout every day of the week. I especially like Jen’s cycle class. The music is good and the workout is challenging. There is something at the Y for literally everyone! I love seeing the little children running around in their ballet attire and their karate outfits. This place is great for the entire family… grandparents, parents, high school kids, little kids, etc. They even have child care on the premises and none of the kids are crying. They’re all playing with the workers and having fun. If you live in N Arlington, this is THE cool place to work out.

I’ve been a member of the YCMA for years and it’s honestly the best YMCA in Arlington. They updated the bike machines last year. I believe the running machines are next. The staff is always friendly. I’ve never seen issues with cleanliness(maybe some dust at the bottom of the machines). I always wipe down the equipment after use and I kinda don’t understand others that don’t. I’ve been to the yoga classes, zumba, body pump, and boot camp classes. On Saturdays, some of the classes are crowded but otherwise, I’ve always had a good. I have visited the other 2 YMCAs in Arlington which is why I think the one at Skyline is the best of the three.

The facility itself was fine but alot of the staff was either rude or ill informed. The cardio area was nice in that it had plenty of machines but the TV’s were too small to read the closed captions. If you wanted to use the track, you had to parade in front of the people in the machines, which I found awkward. The basketball court was cool and not always in use. Not the best hours, closed early on the weekends. Very affordable tho, it was like $ 52 a month for two people which aint bad at all. As for the staff, I had an issue once where I had to cancel my credit cards(thought I lost my wallet.) I was dumb and didn’t think to inform them that the card I used for automatic monthly payments was canceled, so my payment for the month didn’t go through. I called to see what I needed to make this right, and the woman was not helpful at all and I had to pry info from her. She finally told me had to have my dues in cash to reinstate my membership. Okay, that’s a pain, I don’t usually carry cash but whatever, I brought it in. Well, she neglected to tell me that I also needed an additional $ 25 in cash to pay the returned payment fee. I didn’t have a problem paying it, per se, I had a problem with the fact that the B on the phone didn’t tell me to bring it in cash. So I threw a bit if a fit and did not have to pay it, which was the right thing for them to do but I was still irritated. Cut to canceling my membership because I was moving. I called and the nice, ill informed woman told me if I faxed my cancellation that day, I could avoid being charged that month’s fees. Well, she was wrong, I was charged. Now, it said when I signed on that I have to give 30 days notice so of course, I’d still get charged the fee but she should have told me that instead of me seeing the fee, calling, talking to a bunch of people, and finding out that the charge was there to stay. So go ahead and work out it here, that part is okay, but just don’t assume the staff is going to know what they’re doing.
