Beer tastes a little skunky, and not in a good way. Just looking around at their equipment, you can clearly see cleanliness is not high on the list of priorities. Probably will not return.

Every town(and every neighborhood) really needs its own brewery. Arlington can now boast Whiskey Ridge, which recently moved in from Darrington. They took over a medium-sized space on the parking lot not far from the courthouse. It’s an open square that they’ve partially walled off to house the keg cooler, and presumably the brewing equipment is around here somewhere. But the taproom overall is its own space, with a few tables and an L-shaped bar. The bar has a nice rough-hewn log top with a natural edge; makes you feel connected to the sprawling carpets of evergreen forest that radiate out from here toward the east. Overall, the taproom feels like they’ve just gotten started to some extent – there’s plenty of comfortable seating and everything, but there’s a big glass display case from some other business there, and it’s full of growlers and glasses. This does not seem odd, except that some of the glasses are just from their own personal collection – and the display case definitely looks like a retail case, not decorative. This adds a little bit of quirky fun to the room; you can get growlers, growler caddies, and glasses all branded by the brewery, and you can also check out offbeat commemoratives from popular sci-fi TV shows. The sci-fi fandom doesn’t show up in other decorations, but some of the beer names are probably SF references, and the bartenders here definitely love to shoot the breeze about SF. They draw a nice little crowd here, even on days when there’s a big festival in the park across town(where they’re pouring their kegs). The beer list isn’t huge(usually about 8), but they’re made well. A pale ale, a kolsch, a kriek, and an oatmeal stout. The kriek and the stout blended together very well. The most entertaining part of blending the two was how surprised the bartender was when I poured them together. She and her husband own the joint, but she hadn’t tried it before – she ended up loving the two of them together. The service here is really sociable and friendly and fun, and the prices are right on. They do take credit cards, and they do have wi-fi. They don’t have food, but they probably let you bring in outside food.

Been meaning to stop in to this tiny little brewery in Arlington. They’re originally from Darrington, relocated to Arlington. We got our chance this past Saturday. The place was dead and we settled in to sample some brew! I can’t say I was a fan of any of their beer, I settled on a cherry Belgian after sampling the four beers they had on tap. The kölsch is something horrible, it’s nastiness makes it memorable, that’s never a good thing. The staff was friendly. The inside is a ramshackle arrangement of chairs and tables which gave it a feeling of hanging out in your buddy’s old game room or garage, which is cool. We enjoyed the social time and chatting. I can’t say we will ever visit again, or maybe we will if in the area just to see what’s what.

Stopped by this place for a couple of beers after a long day out. I tried their IPA. The first thing I noticed after after it was poured was the color. It looked like a Hefeweizen. Then I gave it a taste. The flavor was awful. No hops flavor at all. All I could taste was nasty sour yeast. Not sure if this is typical of their beer but either way the brew master should not have put this beer on the tap and served it to customers. I would not recommend this brewery to anyone.

I like the fact this was a home brew guy taking it to the next level. My favorite was their Kolsch. Unfortunately for us the brewer was not there. Instead we got a kid that likes to talk, claims he is a history buff and knows nothing about the beers.

This new location is getting up and running. Although it has a good laid back atmosphere with good beers. I hope it will catch on and flourish. There’s always room for more tap houses in WA. Although with Skookum just minutes away, it’s a tough arena. Maybe a guest tap at Skookum or Whitewall, maybe a tap at Conway Pub to help get their name out there would help things along. Still if you’re in the area it’s worth a try.

I’ve been going around reviewing MANY of the Washington breweries so I hope my review means something(And if it doesnt, shut up and enjoy the beer!) Solid beer choices and free pretzels goes a long way in my book. The theme of the brewery still needs some work(its been open for 2 months so far) but I’m sure the most of you are there for the beer. Try the Red Bridge of the Naughty Jim, both are good. The kolsch is very refreshing also. For my full review.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the owners. Beer is very good. A bit above average for the Arlington area. Only reason for not rating higher is the beer prices. $ 6 for a pint of IPA is a bit much! Would like to see it thrive, but prices need to come down.

I gave them a 4 star only because they are still getting it going in their new spot. Beer is above par. The new place I think will be better for everyone as it is easy to get to and easy to find. When we went it was busy and as soon as my boyfriend was finished with his beer I suggested we give up our seats to another couple who had just walked in. Both Francine and Jack are very friendly. This is definitely a small business you should support. Check out their website at
