I’m bumping this up to a 5 now that I’ve had the breakfast tacos and I’ve been going back several times a week. Best in Arlington, by far! They are not only huge but very tasty. One taco is really enough and I order two everywhere else. My favorite is the bean, egg and cheese but I also like the ham, egg & cheese and the beef fajita tacos. The only taco I wasn’t as keen on was the machacado, not because it was bad, but because there wasn’t really much meat in it unlike the other ones I’ve had. I’ve had a whole bunch of pastries as well, most of them are really good. They have wifi, a wide selection of beverages, and plentiful seating. The folks who work there are very nice and the prices are super reasonable!

This hidden gem is the perfect go-to for Mexican food and pastries. Tortillas are some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions are very generous. Staff is wonderful. Food is amazing! Service is quick and there is never a wait! They also have tamales to go.

breakfast tacos until 4pm! I LOVE their breakfast tacos– chorizo, napoles, barbacoa, they’re huge– I can’t quite finish 2. They offer a big variety of mouthwatering pastries as well. But I’m a solid breakfast taco girl.

So we lived in San Antonio for a long time and had many very good Mexican food places within a couple miles of our home… then we came to the Fort Worth/Arlington area and have had a hard time finding a little mom-and-pop type place to satisfy our Mexican food cravings. Too many of them use store-bought tortillas(why!!!), or have mediocre food. Thankfully, we have now found Tia Dora’s and will never go without delicious Mexican food again. This isn’t a fancy-shmancy over-priced Mexican food place. It’s one of those that serves solid classics with good portions and at reasonable prices. Did I mention they make their own tortillas? Yeah, that too… seriously, that makes such a huge difference. Do your tastebuds a favor and come have breakfast here.

We got here after the kitchen closed, unfortunately. The kitchen closed at 4, but since this was our second attempt at eating here, we grabbed some stuff from the refrigerator. I grabbed a half dozen pork tamales, and my girlfriend grabbed a pastry of some kind. She’s a pretty experienced baker, and she was singing that pastry’s praises for most of the night. I had a nibble, and I can confirm that it was pretty tasty. I can only imagine how good it would have been fresh. The tamales here are traditional with corn husks, but frankly, not as good as Danny’s down the street. Nonetheless, they are solid, authentic tamales that are very good. They have other items as well, but since the kitchen was closed, I can’t comment on those. If Danny’s tamales are sold out, which they usually are, this place is an excellent backup. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for Mexican pastries or just something sweet, this place is a must visit.

Probably the best Mexican food I’ve eaten in Texas. Menudo is delicious, clean low grease, just wow. Tacos are huge and tasty, barbacoa is a must have, breakfast tacos are also great, I always order the machacado, again wow, my favorite place to eat Mexican food by far. I’m from LA and it’s still very different but I’m content at Tia Doras.
