I’ve been here a year. Actually, I have been in The Ponde Apts, which were merged in 2014 with The Shores, so they are, essentially, ONEANDTHESAME. The complex is dated, and yes, it’s all old windows and such. Insulation is minimal. Maintenance is unfunded and lackadaisical(I see the guys working, but it looks like a tradition of bubblegum and baling wire is the norm). Quiet neighborhood of solid working people, I have enjoyed my time there, though the move-in«punch list» was NEVER addressed, and I’ve done a lot of my own repairs. Low prices on the rent, though, and I’m OK with it. Tia, the manager, was SUPERAWESOME. I felt like a neighbor. She moved on, and as of a few months ago, everything started going downhill. I travel a lot, and told the management that I needed to know what was going on before I’d leave, and they were always good to keep me apprised of upcoming events. As of September 2014, the new management team treats tenants like inmates. They’re bossy, insistent, uncommunicative, rude, unprofessional. 1. They taped a note to my door that said I have to move my car in the next 12 hours so the paving crew can repave the parking lot — or they’d have it towed at my expense. They didn’t know their contractor was going to pave sooner than that? What if I was out of town? 2. They keep 9 – 5 hours in the office, so I literally have to take time off from work to talk to them about my concerns. And when I say 9 – 5, I mean 9-ish to 5-ish. Forget holidays, too. 3. The place was bought a few months ago, and I gotta say… Fresh paint, newly resurfaced driveways. I received a letter that I could renew my lease at the same monthly rate, and I was about to, but am now being told I have to WAIT until the NEW management team comes on 11/01/2014 because they’re GOINGTORAISETHERENT? Sorry, that’s pretty underhanded. Well, this place was quaint and quirky, but always a decent place to come home to. Now? Not so much.

Would not recommend this place at all. Have lived here for one yr in the bigger unit. This place has the worst windows and insulation in Texas! Cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer time. The maint. staff is non-existent Put requests in to fix sinks, windows, drafty front doors and missing screens. None of the requests have been attempted. I had to go and do most of the things myself. So if you want a deplorable place to love with no security than this is your ideal place! If I could do it all over again I would have chosen somewhere else.
