Came for lunch. We ordered the cabbage roll, potato pancakes, sausage plate, borscht, dumplings, and stroganoff. Everything was tasty, but I will say my favorite was the stroganoff! Noodles cooked to perfection and the beef and mushrooms… just yum! Really enjoyed it all.

Two dishes here are to die for. The Beef Stroganoff and the Pork Cutlet with brown mushroom gravy! The pan fried potato fries are scrumptious. I’ve never had potatoes like that from any restaurant that are flat with crispy edges. I am still wanting to try the cabbage rolls with a ground beef filling. All items in the menu have a flag next to them, and it’s mostly Russian, Ukraine, Czech, German style dishes. Lots of yummy European style dumplings and potato pancakes! The beet soup with sour cream is excellent too, that comes with bread that you can dip in. Great beers in the bottle from the same regions. Food prices are around $ 9-$ 14, with heaping portions and crazy side dishes. The cabbage side is unique, as its a mix of cabbage and other veggies with a faint sour taste. Good and different. The atmosphere is true to form Eastern European. They sell every single gift or souvenir that is popular. So it’s really a store and a restaurant, kind of like a Cracker Barrel. This place is out of the way for me in central Arlington, but worth the drive for delicious food. The owner told me they stew the soups for two days, so it’s clear they cut no corners. Lots of heart into every dish here :)!

I can not tell you how good this place is! If I can give this place 6 stars I would! They make every single item in this place from SCRATCH! Food may take a bit longer to make but I can assure you that it’s worth it. We ordered the sausage platter, cabbage rolls, beef stroganoff, honey cake, and the cheese and cream blintnez. They were simply amazing!!! The owner was around to serve us and take our order and he is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I wasn’t surprised to hear that the restaurant had been featured on dinners dive and drive ins(I probably have the order wrong but you get what I’m trying to say). I will definitely try to make it out here again from California to order more of their items.

YESYESYES! I found Taste of Europe by searching random open tables in my area(Midcities). Charming setup inside, but the superstars are the service and food. My man-unit ordered the meat trio sampler(goulash, stroganoff, mushroom stuffed meatloaf). Of course I tasted everything on his plate, and agreed that all 3 dishes were fantastic. The goulash was just like my Hungarian grandma used to make, which brought back great childhood memories. The sampler was HUGE, and my muscled up lifter BF barely finished it. I ordered jäger schnitzel, and it was badass, too — tender, lightly fried with wonderfully seasoned gravy — as good as the schnitzel I’ve had in Berlin and Cologne and from my ex’s mom’s kitchen. We took home cheese blintzes to warm up the next morning. Man-unit beat me to them and said they’re amazing — tender crepes, sweet and creamy. Service here is outstanding — on task, ultra friendly and sincere and super helpful & welcoming. Taste of Europe is now on my short list.

What a great place. Half restaurant, half gift shop. Place your order and then browse while your food is cooking. This can be good or bad. Glenda found some of her birthday presents here so it cost me! We had the goulash, beef stroganoff, and a stuffed meatloaf that was great! Dessert was a layered pastry. For something different, I highly recommend.

Did not enjoy the food, but the manager was really nice. However, the waitress never refilled my glass and continuously refilled those around me at other tables. I don’t know if it was because I’m black and I hate to think that but I have never experienced this before. So disappointed. Will not be returning.

The owner was very engaged with the customers. He came over to check on us multiple times… Very sweet nice guy. he was also polite enough to allow my friend to get a new dish at no charge. She didn’t like the meal she had ordered so she had asked if she could exchange. Many restaurants wouldn’t allow you to get a new meal for free but this guy did exceptionally well. Very good customer service. One start is missing because well I ordered the JagerSchnitzel it was good but thought the flavor should be enhanced a bit more. Tasted a bit too bland. Nonetheless I will be returning.

In town for a family anniversary and in the mood for European food. Taste of Europe it is! ! The location is a restaurant and store as well. To start off we had a meat and cheese plate and looked at all the nice gifts while we waited. For our main course we had German sausage, jaegerschnitzel no sauce and I had stuffed cabbage. Food was delicious and very reasonable prices. We left with a bag full of goodies for us and the family. Strongly recommend and a very well run establishment. Thanks. :)

I was surprised to find a European spot in Arlington.(I just didn’t know) This restaurant is a both an eatery and a curio shop. It has tasty dishes from many countries in Europe including Russia, Poland, Germany, Hungary and the likes. I ate crêpe filled with chicken and caramelized onion with cream. The napoleon cake was really yummy. I want to visit this place to try the Hungarian goulash. And yeah, this is the place if you want to buy matryoshka dolls !!

I was trying to ween myself off of Texas meat and BBQ so I decided to gamble and find myself something exotic nearby. Lo and behold, Taste of Europe, an establishment featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. They really do have dishes from all over Europe like Hungary, Germany and Ukraine, just to name a few. Cabbage Roll — The lunch portion only comes in a single roll whereas the dinner portion comes with two. Each roll is stuffed with ground beef and chicken, rice and carrots all wrapped with cabbage leaves. It’s topped with a healthy portion of tomato sauce to give it that little kick. The entire dish reminded me of an egg roll but in protein wrap form. There wasn’t much of an overpowering flavor which is probably why the tomato sauce was necessary. If the menu isn’t enough entertainment for you, then I suggest you explore the store and check out all the novelties they have. I got into the war medals collection and ended up getting one for my nephew. They have a ton of authenticated war novelties, like hats, coats and random accessories used in the war. This place is a great little spot to try at least once, especially if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary in big Texas.

Hands down, the best Jagerschnitzel I’ve had since I left Germany while on holiday! Grandma’s Weinschtube in Stuttgart has some competition. Owner and his wife were extremely friendly and even laughed off my attempt at some broken Russian phrases I picked up along the way. SPASIBA!

Four stars for uniqueness. We arrived near closing time on a weekday, so service was pretty fast and we got the chance to walk around the store while the food was being prepared. Service was friendly and welcoming. The special(beef«meatball»(quotes because I don’t remember the name) stuffed with ham and Gouda) was a good pairing of beef and cheese. The cabbage rolls were okay. I felt there wasn’t enough meat in them to justify the price point.

Very good — got Kuldiny and«Bulgarian Birdsnest» special! Excellent, flavorful, and filling with an excellent fruit ice tea(and no extra charge for refills as another reviewer said). Biggest complaint — the main entrees came with no side dishes as one might expect. Those obviously were extra. The«Belgian Birdsnest» came on a bed of mashed potatoes which were wonderful but a side like a small cucumber salad would have been welcome. The Kuldiny came only with sour cream, though they were excellent!

Quaint little place with great food! I’d come back to this restaurant without a second thought. Everything we ordered was delicious with the meats just succulent and tender. Their cherry mimosa was delicious and they do have a great wine selection. See my pics. Best dessert was Napoleon cake :) Highly recommend this place.

We always passed this place up… until? You guessed it. We seen it on diners, drive ins, and dives. I was hoping Guy wouldn’t let me down this time like he did with Chop House Burgers. Luckily, he didn’t! You walk in and there is a picture of Guy Fieri staring at you. Taste of Europe is a family owned restaurant. It’s filled with all things European and Russian. They have a gift shop, groceries, and a deli counter. Deli meats and cheese from Europe. All things Europe! They also have European/Russian chocolates and candies. I can’t begin to tell you the name of the chocolate I had, but I can tell you it was pretty damn good! Now the food. We got the meat and cheese platter as an appetizer. Yum! My kids get that as their meal. Borscht is a soup and a great soup at that. I usually get the German schnitzel. Very tasty and it comes with Sauerkraut and potatoes! My husband gets the Siberian Pelmeni. They remind me of Chinese dumplings, but they aren’t the same shape as a Chinese dumpling. They are filled with meat and sit in some kind of broth. The beef stroganoff is also very tasty! I’ve had their crepes with honey, chocolate, and Russian caramel. My first time having crepes was here. They were pretty good! Definitely a lovely place to eat and hope to be back soon :)

I saw this restaurant on diners drive ins and dives but I had a very different opinion of the food than Guy had on his show. I had the Russian blitzes but they were not good. I feel like the ingredients were not fresh and there’s was something off that I didn’t no finish the dish. Don’t get me wrong I am very open to new tastes and travel the world to try different«exotic» and foreign food which I always seem to like. This restaurant was just not to my liking. I love that everyone speaks about the authenticity of this restaurant but I just didn’t have a taste for the blintzes. I enjoyed the quirky nature of the restaurant that also included a deli like counter and many shopping counters. It was nice looking at all the items you could buy but I felt the items to be incredibly over priced. I’ve only visited this restaurant once and did not have a desire to try it again so that is the caveat to my review. If you’re looking for a European restaurant in the metroplex I strongly recommend hanks in dallas. It’s VERY delicious and has grocery aisles and a dessert bakery in the restaurant too.
