Some friends and my wife and I had dinner Saturday night here and it was simply wonderful. I have been fortunate to have lived in Thailand and in Asia for several years and I must admit that I have had nothing that surpasses the food two nights ago. Ms Yoon served us(I had the cashew Chicken(hot) and we all had other dishes and wonderful soups. We sill definitely return. Thanks again so much. John and Karan Quincy

Wonderful little hidden gem! The ladies who Owen the restaurant were so very friendly and helpful with telling us about the menu items. My husband who is not s big fan of the Asian, Thai type foods, actually left here very happy and more importantly willing to come back.

Come here for lunch today. I was aware that there quite a few places to eat here but I have been always unsure about it… Today I become a fan of this little place. Really nice place to pick up or seat and eat a quick lunch for a great price! The lady serving was also very attentive. The food is very tasty and there is quite a variety! I had the lunch special, soup, spring roll, main dish, and a diet coke for less than $ 10.

I have been coming to Sukhothai for a year now and I’m finally writing my review. I over looked them somehow. I’m not an expert on Thai food but I’m getting better all the time. And I feel Sukhothai is very good. The service is top notch the lady that is always there when I go is very nice. The restaurant is very small in a strip shopping center. The décor is simple white table cloth with a preset table. Very quiet and not very busy we have always just sat right down no wait. Casual atmosphere. The food is great to start with the appetizers are all good. I have had the shrimp fried wantons, and the cheese rolls. The main dishes vary from strip fry, curry soups, and flat noodle dishes. I have tasted the pineapple curry good but not my thing. I like the flat noodle dishes. I have tried 2 different types of Pad See Ew something like that. I get them medium spicy with chicken. Tried the beef it was okay but the beef flavor was to strong. Good size portion and the price is around 10 dollars a plate. The restaurant is BYOB so bring your own bottle of wine. Make sure it is a Riesling it goes best with spicy food.

This place is excellent! Run by two sisters(as polite and sweet as can be) the food is authentic and SOO delicious, it can take a while to come out but it is worth EVERYSECOND of the wait. I would and do recommend this place to anyone!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in DFW. Pineapple curry, spicy lemon soup, and pad thai are all excellent. Environment is understated and more elegant than other places and the prices are reasonable. Service is friendly. Oh and if you like spicy food, watch out. I eat habaneros but once could barely finish a dish here because I ordered level Thai hot. Now I stick to medium and it’s got the fire but still edible.

The curry and soup there was very good. Very flavorful and spicy. I ordered the red and peneung curry and got it Thai spicy. It was spicy but not as spicy as I would like it, otherwise I would have gave them a 5 star. It is a very small place and had only one person running the tables. The order did take awhile to come out. Besides that, it was very flavorful and authentic. I would recommend this place to any Thai food lover.

Sukho Thai is wonderful! Hands down the best Thai food in DFW. We have been coming here for over 15 years now weekly. We have since became friends with the owners. Every year the owners invite us over for Chinese New Year Celebration! To top it off… I even had my Rehearsal Dinner here before my wife Nina, and I got married! WELOVESUKHOTHAI!!!

Well, if you like to pay for overpriced small meals, this is the place. My sister and I went there for a quick asian food fix and boy were we upset. We ordered three dinner items to share family style. Tom yum seafood soup was too sour, not spicy and lacked spices. Chicken pad Thai tastes like they cooked it with ketchup, an odd ingredient to over power a nutty dish. Giving this place two stars for the flavorful glass noodle salad. Really small portion but lots of flavor and refreshing. All our dishes seemed like they were maybe a lunch portion so the prices seem absurd. I would most likely never return to this place.

I came here for dinner the other night when I was totally exhausted. I didn’t want to cook like I usually do, I just wanted to go somewhere peaceful, delicious, and BYOB. And close to home. Sukhothai was a great decision because I’ve been to Moni’s too many times lately. The restaurant, which is only one tiny room, was dimly lit and very cozy. There are maybe 12 tables and they were mostly full. It’s kind of loud because the restaurant is so small, but it’s ultra comfortable. A delicate flower on the table and little glass tumblers for your wine. I ordered the massaman curry, and while it was incredibly flavorful and had the right amount of heat, I felt like it was too sweet. I didn’t eat most of it because of that. Also, the potatoes were a little underdone. The service is always sweet. A very family oriented and welcoming restaurant!

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant! I have dined here for over 8 years and it has always remained my favorite. There is not a single dish that I do not love. Also, a very cute and clean atmosphere! A must try!

I walked in and there is a couple and myself. I’m thinking«that’s okay, it’s a weekday. Not everyone wants Thai food on a regular basis.» I sit down and order my drink, then once I received my drink I place an order for my chicken panang curry. The panang curry itself states good, I’ve had better but it was good. The disappointing thing was the fact that all I had in my dish was chicken and the curry with a side of white rice. Typically when I order my curry dishes in various Thai restaurants, they usually have some kind of vegetables to it. Even the menu on Unilocal said that there should be peas, carrots, red pepper, onions, and basil. Um yeah, I didn’t see any of those in my dish. I hurriedly ate all my chicken and most of curry sauce then left. I’ll most likely never go back because I live in Irving and was stopping by just to eat Thai because I was craving it and I was in the area.

When I worked and lived nearby… a few years back… I used to crave this place daily! It’s so freaking delicious. You would really not know it either. It’s in a super low key, kind of run down shopping center. Blink and you will miss it. Step inside and see what they have to offer! It’s a charming little place with some tasty Thai food. Fresh meats, veggies, rice. Vegetarian options. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Or take it to go! Ah, the memories. I am overdue for a trip back! That’s really the only thing I miss about living on the Fort Worth side. Clearly I’m a Dallas girl at heart.

Now I’m a novice to Thai food but wow did I really enjoy this place. For appetizers, we had the Cheese Rolls. These were tiny fried rice paper with cream cheese filling. Kind of a tiny cheese egg roll. For the entre I had the Pineapple Curry with chicken. It was pretty much a curry soup with chicken and pineapple. Dang it was good. Now I like spicy but since I’ve never eaten here before I opted for medium spicy. I’m really glad I did. With the curry paste and peppers it was on the warm side. The other half had a noodle dish that was very good also. The price: Almost everything was in the $ 10 range. The service: A-1 you could not have asked for better. One thing we did not know is that they are BYOB. Next time I’ll have a nice dry Riesling to cool off the spice. Really good food with very friendly service. We will be back very soon.

I’ve been a fan of Thai food for years. Since the first time I tried Panang Curry, I was truly hooked. Although I’ve tried many other curries in the past, the Panang is my go-to curry for a taste of true heaven. For those of you who have tried it(Panang), you know exactly what I’m talking about. The flavor is unreal, stimulating, and almost indescribably perfect on the palate. On the suggestion by fellow Unilocaler who proposes that this is the«best» in the area, I decided to give them a shot during my lunch break yesterday. The restaurant lies within a strip mall, and in easily unnoticed unless you really know what you’re looking for. Vacant storefronts on either side and with darkened shades on the front glass of the restaurant would almost give a potential customer that they are closed. Fortunately, the glowing«OPEN» sign in the front eased my worry. Upon entering, and even in the middle of the day, the dining area is quite dark… yet, relaxing. Music is soft, and there is an almost euphoric tone of «easiness» that was ever-present. I felt relaxed, yet, energized in the ambiance of the setting. The lunch menu had several selections, and, of course, I chose the Panang Curry with Chicken. I was offered a selection of «hotness» at that point(None, Mild, Hot… or «Thai Hot). I chose the«Mild,» only because it was still the middle of the workday, and did not want any surprises… if you know what I mean. I had ordered the egg roll(instead of the fried tofu). Within a few seconds, I received a small cup of broth with a square of tofu at the bottom and a sprig of cilantro. A couple of spoonful tastes, and I was done — leaving the rest. Not that it was«bad,» per se. It just did not have a bit of flavor. Hmm… somewhat disappointing. Quickly, my plate of Panang Curry Chicken was served. A mound of white(jasmine?) rice, a small egg roll with dipping sauce, and a bowel of the curry and chicken. The aroma was hypnotic and mesmerizing to say the least. Now, I must say, this was about as «basic» a Panang Curry Chicken as I have ever had. By «basic,» I mean, there was the curry sauce… and chicken. No vegetable(of any type), nor visible basil(that I could tell). Nonetheless, I spooned the curry onto the rice, set the bowl aside, and slowly enjoyed my bit of heaven on a warm afternoon. The taste was impeccably PERFECT. Rich, zesty, and just the right amount of spice, this thing was almost religious in the experience. No, I am not kidding. During my meal, I poured over the menu a bit. They offer a wide selection of dishes, but in my book, the dishes that are the most satisfying are those that are cooked with the coconut milk and curry. To me, this is a technique that defines the difference in what Thai food is — compared to other Asian dishes. In addition, if you have ever made it on your own at home(as I have), then you know what time it takes to prepare. At Sukhothai, one can tell that this is no pre-made curry. Each dish is made fresh and by order. This is the way it should be, especially with a coconut milk based curry. You can’t just make a huge batch of this stuff, and just ladle it over meat. Rather, this stuff is a process that requires constant attention as the milk and curry merge into union. The end-result though, is a taste of heaven on a plate. Quaint, cute, and incredibly delicious, this is undeniably what Thai food should taste like! Lunch portions are perfect in size and price — $ 6.95 for most options. $ 9.95 if you want shrimp. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Good authentic thai food. Very small family-owned joint. It’s pretty spicy. You get a choice of medium, hot, or thai hot. I’m a midwest white boy, but I do like spicy food. I ordered the green curry medium, and I think I lost about ten pounds in water weight from sweating. It looked like I just got out of the pool. I can’t even imagine what the«thai hot» is like. I bet it’s enough to make Satan sweat.

Best Thai that I have had in a long time. I had Pad Thai, my wife had Tom Kha soup, and our boys shared the pineapple fried rice(with chicken). We all enjoyed it. The service was wonderful. We were well tended to, the staff was comfortable with our boys(6 and 3), and we didn’t have to wait long for anything. Men’s room was in good shape(I didn’t look in the ladies’ room).

I wanted to like this place, I really did. The place was clean and the lady who took my takeout order was super nice and even brought me a glass of water while I waited. I ordered my thai staple dish, which I gauge thai restaurants by… spicy basil noodles. I always order it with beef… but this rendition was the blandest I’ve had anywhere– no tomatoes, no green bell peppers to be found… simply beef(which was thick and chewy), onions, basil and flat noodles… where were the other ingredients? I was disappointed… it is no Royal Thai in Dallas. I may give it another shot and try a different dish… but their spicy basil noodles is probably the worst I’ve ever had, sad to say. Not impressed.

As the current DUKE of Sukhothai(as of 8:52 am, 4÷13÷2012), I proclaim this the best Thai restaurant between Dallas and Fort Worth. It’s a family-run operation with the friendliest people, the most delicious AUTHENTIC food and they’re not afraid to turn on the heat(spice) which I love. You’ll be asked if you want your food Mild, Medium, Hot or Thai-hot. Their lunch specials are very affordable, quickly served and consist of great portions! The Chili-Garlic chicken is fantastic and I don’t know how they make the sauce/gravy but I could put that stuff in a thermos and sip it all day!
