This Sephora is tucked away in a little corner of Clarendon, it’s a pretty convenient location! The store is a bit smaller than the ones you find at the malls, and accordingly so, I don’t think their stock is as large. But here, the samples are always clean, and the employees are friendly and helpful. I haven’t gone on a weekend admittedly, but it’s also not anywhere near as crowded as the Sephoras at the mall.

This store doesn’t even deserve one star. The staff is horribly rude and cannot be bothered if you’ve got questions. I actually stopped by at 850pm on a wed night to quickly grab one specific product. First, the woman told me they were closed when i walked in. I looked at my phone and said, its 8:53. She said«ok well you have seven minutes». THEN, I had the audacity to ask a question before I paid and these women acted like the entire world was going to shut down at exactly 9pm and I needed to get the f out. One of them even yelled across the store at me while I was walking back through aisles looking for my product(Josie Maran Argon Oil). She yelled, «I have to close my registers in two minutes!» Like… So… You’re saying if I don’t get my sneakers on and sprint up there and pay in the next two minutes you’re not going to let me buy anything??? Go ahead and try to pull that please. Because if you did that to me I swear I’d sit there all night. Like I’d sleep there before I left without buying the thing I wanted. I spend a lot of money at Sephora, as do many women. I’ve always been treated well and offered excellent customer service until I mistakenly stumbled into this demented store. The location is amazing but they have the staff from hell working there. If I didn’t want to walk out w my product today I would laid into one of them.

Unfortunately, the unfavorable employees are getting this review. I went in to check out the Boscia line. Was super excited. Walked in, no greeting. Walked around encountering several sales associates. No greeting or offer to help. Hovered over the Boscia products. Got in line and spotted a sales associate that I wanted ask a question. Walked over and asked her for a couple samples of the products that I wanted to try. She looked at he strange. I was like okay, please speak. She actually got on her walky or whatever and asked an employee that was about to go on break to help me. It was strange… very strange. So the employee comes over to me and says«what do you want», I was like, excuse me. First she tried to tell me that there were no more sample containers, barely looked. When she was done getting the samples ready she puts her hand out with out even looking at me and says«here». I asked her if that is how she normally treated customers, and she acted oblivious. Then I explained that she walked up to me and said«what do you want». She really tried to play that one off. Instead of just apologizing she said«I’ve never been told that before, sorry». Okay, sure. Anywho, don’t expect much in terms of customer service when you go in to this Sephora location. Although the associates seemed to be fairly helpful to middle aged ladies in the store. The register girls were nice though… BTW15% off your Boscia order online on the website until Jan 10th!

I was THRILLED when I found out a Sephora was opening in Clarendon. I live a few blocks away and am a frequent Sephora shopper. I’ve always disliked having to go to the Pentagon City and Georgetown stores because they are so congested. I’ve been nothing but disappointed with each of my store visits. The employees at this location are rude and arrogant. Their sense of entitlement is appalling. I’ve witnessed, as well as been the victim of their«how dare you ask me for help??» behavior. It’s a shame nobody has told the employees that it’s their job to HELP people select a product, locate something in the store, etc. The product selection is mediocre. It’s a small store, not nearly as large as the ones at Tyson’s or Reston, so this is understandable. I’d give a 1 star rating however I’m a sucker for convenience and know I’ll continue to shop here when I’m too lazy to drive to another location or order online.

I called to make a makeover appointment, whoever picked up the phone told me to «please hold» without letting me say a word for 10′! I hung up and called again, same thing happened. Are you telling me at a store that’s barely busy you can’t answer the phone for 20′ straight?

I got a custom makeover a week before my wedding. I was honest about my makeup stance: I virtually never wear makeup and just needed a crash course on how to do my makeup for my wedding. Denise was totally understanding and accommodating. She told me and my friend exactly what I needed to do a decent job on my wedding, and what would be maybe a splurge. I bought the necessities and one splurge. Denise let my friend take notes during the entire session, and those were our guide a week later. And I’m pretty sure she went WAY over the time allotment. A week later, we did pretty good! I got compliments on my makeup, I didn’t look like a clown, so it was a win. I returned one item, though: A too-dark eye shadow that totally worked when she applied it, but looked waaaay too dark when we tried to apply it. Not bad!

The store has great selection and helpful staff. I came to look at their Korean Beauty products and was pleased with their variety. KBeauty is currently trending but it’s nice to see that a smaller/new store is keeping stock. As far as KBeauty, I really like the egg masks and the Dinoplatz products are so cutely packaged!

Don’t stock EVERY shade of makeup if you don’t want to sell to EVERYRACE of people!!! I went casually to Sephora twith my wife who was looking to buy some new makeup. NEVER have I experienced such blatant discrimination. Every associate would merely say hello to us and keep walking and when customers after us would come in they would great them and offer them assistance and would walk all over the store with them. My wife was looking at one specific type of makeup for over 15 minutes and NOONE ever approached her to offer help although there were three AVAILABLE associates that were not helping anyone as there were only 3 customers in the store including. In fact another associate went to assist a group of 2 customers that were already being helped by another associate. I asked to speak to the manager and to my surprise it was the EXACT person, named Deborah, who initially disregarded us only to extensively offer to help the next customer to come in that looked like her. When I asked her why she offered us a different level of service she said she did not. Clearly she would not admit that she ignored us only to offer thorough service to the other customers. Not only did she do that, but other associates did the same thing to us. DONOTBUY from this store that exhibits such RACIST and DISCRIMINATORY practices!!!

So happy that this Sephora finally opened. I used to have to go to George Town to get my Sephora products but no more! This one is big enough, employees are nice so far(let’s remember it just opened) and things are clean and in place. Let’s hope it stays this way.
