I love Ruth! I first met her when she was working at the Anastasia counter in Nordstrom in Pentagon City years ago. Sure, the eyebrow price is more expensive than your corner back room nail salon brow wax, but it’s completely worth it. Your brows will thank you because she makes sure your brows are done right.

I found this place on Unilocal,with the great reviews, and thought I could give it a try. One of the reviews mentioned that the owner was trained with Anastasia Brows, and I have been trying to get in that place forever, and never got a call back! Ruth, the owner of the salon is fantastic! She did my brows and trimmed my hair! But she washed, dried, blow dried and flat ironed my hair all herself! She told me she trained with Anastasia for 11 years and worked at the brow studio in Norstrom. She used the same techniques at her shop. she has been cutting hair for over 16 years. Her shop is small, and tucked away in a small shopping center on Columbia Pike past the Sheraton. The shop is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. She is a warm and wecolming lady, and does a fantastic job on hair. She does all types of hair, so a plus for her business and well priced for the service and care you’ll receive. I will become a regular after this. A true diamond in the ruff.

If you are looking for attention to detail and not being kept waiting, this place is for you. Due to the intimate nature of the place Ruth takes the time to really get to know your hair give you fab hair but looks out for the long term health of your hair. Hands down the best eyebrows all the time every time

I live off Columbia pike and was looking for a place last minute to get my hair done. This place was wonderful! There are certain things I look for when getting my hair done that determine whether I’ll go back or not.
Attitude-​These women are so nice and friendly. They’re also very helpful and upbeat and positive. Don’t worry about going here and hearing bickering amongst the employees.
Timeliness– My time is important to me and i do not want to be in the chair all day long. They were very quick especially considering the fact I was a walk-​in.
Skills-​This girl straightened and styled my hair to the point of perfection! I was amazed at how well she did it and how light and fluffy my hair was. The other lady (the owner) that does eyebrows actually trained under Anastasia in Hollywood and trained the women in the Nordstrom’s in the DMV area before opening this place.
Accessibility-​easy to get to, right off 395 and Columbia pike and route 50. It’s down the street from where I live so I can easily get to it in case of an emergency.
Professionalism/​Overall Ambiance– They offered me coffee or tea and had an assortment of magazines. They were very attentive and courteous and the inside was decorated very tastefully. I felt very comfortable there.
I would give this place the highest recommendation to anyone of any hair texture. (i saw style the hair on several different women of different races)
It’s definitely a hidden treasure! Just watch out for parking it can get a little tight but there are side streets!

I visited Ruth’s Beauty Studio last week after searching for weeks to find a salon that could straighten and style my natural kinky hair. I got my hair done by Helen and she did a FABULOUS job! I was extremely satisfied with the results. My hair flowed beautifully and felt and shined like silk without being weighed down by grease.
The over all ambiance of the salon was peaceful and friendly. The staff is extremely nice and respectful which added to the salon’s lovely décor. The only two cons about the salon (which would not stop me from becoming a regular client) are the location and size of the salon. Parking for the salon is scarce and the salon itself is really small and kind of narrow. Other than those two factors, my experience at Ruth’s Beauty Studio was outstanding and the results of my hair were exactly what I wanted. If you have natural kinky hair and want to get it straightened and trimmed I would highly recommend Ruth’s Beauty Salon.

This hair salon is tucked away in south Arlington. I happened upon it by accident because it is located right next to Dama Ethiopian bakery & restaurant. My brows have never looked so good. The tech took her time plucking, waxing and grooming it. I paid $ 20.00 which is a little pricey but still $ 10.00 cheaper than getting it done at the Brow studio at Nordstrom. The owner was very friendly and the décor of the place was kind of high-​end.
