We found a cockroach in the booth we were sitting in. A shame, since it ruined an otherwise decent meal. The waitress recommended we get way more food than we needed, kind of the opposite of helpful. Personally, I think Lebanese Taverna is better(and cleaner).

MeJana is my new favorite restaurant. The four of us received a very warm welcome upon arrival. There is nothing like Mediterranean cuisine… and this place has the most delicious homemade Lebanese food I’ve ever had !!! Small plates of Labneh, Baba Ghannouj, Hummus, Grape Leaves and Chicken Shawarma is the best way to go. The flavors are bright and clean tasting. I could’ve eaten 2 of everything! Delicious warm pita bread just kept comin’! My husband loved his Lamb… said best he’s had in ages! And the Calamari was fabulous! I highly recommend MeJana! If I could give 6 Stars, I would!

MeJana is tasty, even if it isn’t the best restaurant. MeJana is a Lebanese place on Wilson Boulevard, which makes it fairly convenient for virtually anyone living in Arlington. The restaurant itself is somewhat cramped, but the design is decent. Service is perhaps a bit slow, even on weekdays, but the prices are fair. I tried a lot of different mezze here and was generally pleased. The hummus is as delicious as you could ask for, and definitely a good start. The Gambas are absolutely delicious and definitely something to try. The Smelt is also good, albeit marginally less so. Their desserts are super interesting, though they may be polarizing. I tried their Kanafe, which was a sort of sweet cheese dish with phyllo dough and orange blossom syrup. It was ridiculously interesting, though perhaps not something that those with pickier palates would like.

This place was amazing! Super authentic Lebanese food that will not disappoint. The kibbe was delicious. Opt out of the grilled calamari though, it’s a little rubbery and there are better things on the menu.

Yum I can’t believe it took me this long to drop by Me Jana. I had been craving Mediterranean/Lebanese flavors for a while and this restaurant totally hit the spot. For lunch you can choose from sandwiches/salads or small plates; we went the small plates option– ordering the potato kibbeh(fried dumpling appetizer), spinach pie, lahem be-ajeen(a flatbread with ground lamb and spices), and sujok(spicy sausages with tomato sauce). The flatbread was all right– not my favorite. The spinach pie and kibbeh were very good. Then there was the sujok! The sujok was definitely the standout dish for me. So delicious! Definitely spicy as the waitress warned, but pleasantly so. It came with a small Mediterranean salad on the side. I would absolutely come back here just for the sujok. There also is a sujok sandwich which sounds delicious as well. All in all I was impressed with the flavors and appreciated the reasonable prices. Mint tea was also a nice touch to the meal as well.

Hands down the best Lebanese/Middle Eastern food I have ever eaten-everything from the taste to the texture to the balance of the ingredients in each item was wonderful. It isn’t a super cheap place to eat for dinner but it isn’t too expensive either and it is totally worth it! Much better than ANYOTHERRESTAURANT I have been to in Clarendon, all of Arlington and Fairfax and maybe even in all the DC metro area. This is a good place to go once a month or so for dinner or to treat yourself or for a special occasion or every weekend if you are not tight on money! Even the drinks and the Lebanese beer were fantastic! We ordered the Me Jana Sampler and everything on it was phenomenal! We also got the Beef Shawarma– the meat, the beets on it and the green pickles were amazing! Their tabouleh was great and mainly made up of parsley and tomato with just a few random sprinklings of bulgar wheat in it instead of the other way around. They have the most amazing bread that they give you with some incredible dipping sauces(for free) before your meal comes out. They also bring you as much of the bread as you need throughout your meal. I got the pomegranate martini(which was great– not too sweet) and my boyfriend got one of the Lebanese beers which tasted great as well. For dessert we got the Ashta which — of course– was probably one of the best desserts I had ever had in my entire life. The texture was creamy and not watery and the flavor of the rose water and orange blossom in it were absolutely perfect. The ambiance, the music and the wait staff were also wonderful. They also have decent sized portions. My boyfriend is a tall guy and we had enough food left over for me to eat for lunch the next day. We would have been full just off of the Me Jana Sampler alone– which is only $ 39. So glad my boyfriend and I finally decided to try this place out after almost 3 years of living here! We had a serious food high after eating here and can’t stop talking about it. Can’t wait to go again!

This restaurant is amazing! The garlic whip is simply addictive and the Me Jana Platter is a must for an appetizer. The service is friendly and professional and the atmosphere is very chic. I recommend eating here at least once in your life … And definitely don’t forget to order dessert, it’s a must.

Amazing Food, Drinks and Service! Came here with a party of 4 and every dish was AMAZING! Appetizers we tried were the Hummus and Chicken Shawarma, the servings were hefty and simply delicious! For the main dishes we ordered Lamb Chops(grilled and seasoned to perfection), Lamb Shank(tender fall of the bone and full of flavor) and the Branzino(AMAZING)! We also had a few drinks all which were reasonably priced and strong! Love everything about this restaurant, looking forward to going back!

I came here with my family for the first time for mother’s day. Overall, my family has not had a great deal of lebanese/mediterranean food, but i have and quite enjoy it. Service was helpful and kind. All of the dishes we ordered — the whole fish, the lamb shank, grape leaves, Tabouleh salad, dessert — all were solid dishes. quite light and perfect for summer weather. My favorite I would say were the fish and the lamb shank were my favorites and perfectly seasoned w/oit being overly salty. so why not 4 stars? I don’t think any of the dishes wowed me or stood out. I wouldn’t think that I would crave it or go out of my way to go back — but I would go back to enjoy a nice glass of wine outdoors on their patio.

This restaurant is absolutely deserving of every star it can get! It has become one of my favorite restaurants and I am so glad that I visited with a good friend recently for dinner. The décor is very homey, warm, and welcoming, and we were seated without a reservation on a Thursday evening. Service was friendly and helpful from start to finish. I have absolutely no complaints on that front. The menu is enormous! My friend and I had a difficult time choosing what to order. You can elect to either go with the tapas-style meal and get several small plates, or you can get an entrée. We both decided to each get 2 small plates and that was plenty! Even the small plates are very filling and satisfying. I ordered the Fettoosh Salad on the Cold Plates menu(I’ve been obsessed with fettoosh salads ever since dining at Ballston’s Fettoosh restaurant) and the Falafel on the Warm Plates menu. The falafel small plate was amazing — it came with 4 falafel balls on a tahini spread and it was very delicious and satisfying. The fettoosh salad, which was also filling, was comprised of tomato, cucumber, parsley, lime juice, and bits of pita chips. I loved that meal! My friend ordered the Tabouleh salad(parsley, mint, onion, chopped tomato, burghul, olive oil, and lemon) and the Lahem Be Ajeen(Baked Pita dough topped with ground lamb, spices and pomegranate molasses) and enjoyed both plates. We both agreed that two small plates each was a good amount. In all, I absolutely love this restaurant and it’s a good choice if you’re craving Middle Eastern food. It’s a bit hard to find, as it’s located near the other dimension that is Courthouse, but it’s around the corner from Ray’s the Steaks(if that serves as a good reference point) and down the street from the AMC movie theater and the Courthouse metro station. I will certainly be back and give it my highest praise!

One of my favorite restaurants! This was the first time i ever had lebanese food and it was love at first bite! The food is absolutely delicious and their desserts are mouth watering good! Came here last summer on a date and sat outside on the patio enjoying the beautiful weather and eating this delicious food. The service was awesome! Our waitress was so kind and informative, the owner came by to greet us and talk to us. The décor is beautiful and modern and keeps it apart from most restaurants in the area. I’ve been to quite a few Lebanese restaurants since then and i still hold this restaurant as the best Lebanese food. There was no wait time when we arrived, the food service was quick and the waitress came by on proper intervals to check on us. The ambiance is quiet and romantic, perfect for dates, it’s definitely a perfect spot for an intimate date night. The dessert grabbed my attention! Achta was so delicious, perfect with any meal and anytime. The food is a bit on the pricey side but well worth the price, for 2 people, the bill came out to be $ 60 without alcohol. But it’s a guarantee you will leave satisfied with a happy belly and that is worth it. I am looking forward to going back there, perhaps my next date night will be at Me Jana ;)

It is with a heavy heart but a clear conscience that I bestow two stars to Me Jana. What upsets me about this rating is that my husband and I had been saving a special night for a while to dine here, based on multiple recommendations from friends(including a Lebanese native friend). We came here for a post-Valentine’s Day date night, and we left $ 120 poorer and without much satisfaction. While the ease of parking, front-of-house experience with the wonderful host/manager, and ambiance all suggested a 4-star experience, the actual result was a lesser sum of those parts. Although the menu promised a great variety of flavorful Lebanese favorites that we both love, the service, drinks, and actual quality of the food left us wanting for more. We were seated in a back corner or the restaurant near a busy corridor with servers and food runners coming and going, and our waitress was brusque, at best. I think what left the worst taste in my mouth, literally, was the crème de menthe/vodka/club soda cocktail I ordered. It tasted like liquefied toothpaste and was not at all the digestif I had in mind. Maybe I should have ordered wine instead. Food-wise, we ordered some mezze — grape leaves and hummus. We’re fiends and harsh critics for grape leaves, and these were actually pretty good — leaves weren’t too thick and were sufficiently softened by the olive oil. Hummus was just okay — definitely lacked the tang you’d expect from other hummus recipes that are heavier on the lemon juice and a bit lighter on the tahini. We also had the grilled calamari — it was initially thrilling to find grilled(not fried) calamari, but ultimately disappointing that the calamari was drowning in oil and cilantro so much so that you couldn’t even taste the calamari. The fatteh — normally my favorite Lebanese dish — was done a little differently — the eggplant was fried, but it was still okay. I think the entrée was the most degrading to an otherwise upscale restaurant. For $ 22, the shish taouk(chicken) was sad… the rice was quite cold, and even after sending the plate back for a re-heating, the rice was still cold. The portion of chicken was embarrassingly small for the price, and lacked the juiciness and delicious searing that are so deliciously common with other kabobs. 6 small chunks of dry chicken and cold rice for $ 22? No thanks.

The complimentary warm pita bread accompanied by olives, yogurt and olive oil was absolutely addictive. I ordered the Shish Taouk and my husband ordered the Branzino, we were both very happy with our choices. My chicken was tender and extremely moist. His fish was buttery and light but seasoned to perfection. You can’t go wrong with Lebanese cuisine when it’s done right! We will definitely be back to try something different next time.

Me Jana makes some of THEBEST garlic whip in the area. It far surpasses anything I’ve tried at Lebanese Taverna, Michos and Shawafel. I would(and will!) go totally out of my way for it because it tastes awesome on everything. Veggies, pita, Lucky Charms, you name it.(Ok, maybe that last one was just for effect, but still.) Garlic whip aside, my meal standby is the lentil soup. It’s a little small for the price, but topped with a squeeze of lemon and some olive oil, it’s supremely comforting. It’s so crave-worthy you’ll find yourself sitting at work unable to focus on your TPS reports due Saturday because this soup is calling you. The warm pita they serve as «table bread» is tasty, but be sure to order some extra olive oil and/or garlic whip to get a little more out of it. My friend ordered the lamb chops and she raved about them. She said getting them cooked medium(or medium rare) did them the most justice, so be mindful of that when you order. Service is ok, nothing spectacular, but the staff is definitely pleasant. They just don’t check on you much. They are however quite accommodating when you either(a) need something or(b) want to make dining substitutions(ex., substitute spinach for the potatoes that come with you entrée, etc.) Overall, a lovely find tucked away in Arlington!

This place gets 5 stars for multiple reasons: It’s one block from my apartment. They have(amazingly delicious) lambchops. Seriously, if they weren’t so expensive in would eat them every day. And they come with this incredible garlic butter! The service is excellent. The interior is gorgeous. I usually sit outside when I go, but the inside is beautifully designed. Check this place out if you haven’t already. It might cost a bit, but it’s SO worth it.
