Knights of Columbus-Edward Douglas White Council

Called on Monday for a funeral reception on Thursday. Everything was perfect and I didn’t have to lift a finger. It’s exactly what I needed at such an emotional time. Highly recommend.

I’m a member of another council — Saint Clare of Assisi 12 963 — some 20 plus miles to the west. I only wish I was closer to ED White as the place is beautiful. Have you ever attended an Honor Flight hosted by this Council? I have about six times and each time gets better. What a giving council. If you ever consider becoming a knight, check in with this council… it just might save your soul!

My husband and I have been members for 4 years. We aren’t overly active in the KofC club activities, but we go to the pool religiously every summer, and head to the club house sometimes for dinner on weekends. We really love this place. The clubhouse/​bar is small and nothing special, but with cheap beer, GREAT burgers and pretty good steaks and crab cakes — especially given the rock bottom prices. The regulars hanging out at the bar are sweet and friendly, every time you go for dinner, it sort of feels like you’re at a family reunion. It’s just a friendly, family-​like atmosphere. Totally casual and relaxed, but a great place to hang out.
The pool is wonderful. The lifeguards are attentive and friendly, and the snack bar and club house (i.e. pool bar) are great, and have wonderful prices. There are a ton of grills to use, as well as some tennis courts and a playground.
My four knocks on KofC are:
1. It’s annoying to have to walk through the bathrooms to get into the pool. They’re sort of smelly, as most pool bathrooms are. It would be nice to just be able to walk directly into the pool area.
2. Seating is minimal. We generally get there right at opening to make sure we have a seat. I wish they would remove or push back the fencing on the grill side, so that they could put in another two rows of lounge chairs. The seating is just absolutely inadequate here.
3. I really wish they’d open earlier — at least on weekend. I think a lot of pools around here open at 10 or 11. That would be nice.
4. I think it stinks that they don’t lower their guest prices after, say, 3 or 4pm. We love having family come over to grill and go for a quick dip — but $ 10 for an adult when we’re only there from 5 — 7 or 7:30? Sort of pricey.

My Niece had here wedding reception here. It was good for a medium and small size wedding. The staff was great and went out of thier way to ensure everything went smooth. Great location for any small to medium events. They had a bar setup and the ballroom area was well maintained. The NOK staff did a fantastic job to include the food and open bar…

My wife goaded me into joining KofC because they have a great pool facility and Knights get a big discount. I can’t say I’ve gotten involved in the group, but the facilities are very good and pretty unique for a KofC chapter. The pool is quite large and has a good snack bar, which of course serves adult beverages. The changing room /​bathroom you have to go through to get to the pool is nasty and old — it seems to be the biggest downside to the KofC pool. However, the plusses of the pool make it a popular pool for local families.
