Though I’ve never been to AOI Arlington I «Liked» the website on Facebook and decided to write a post on Unilocal due to Dr. Jefferson Cartwright. I was a patient of his in 1997 – 1998. Here’s my short story… In 1997 I was a Sergeant First Class in the Army with 15 years of service. After completing a two-year tour on the trail as a Drill Sergeant, I started developing right knee issues. I saw Dr. Cartwright at Martin Army Hospital on Fort Benning, Georgia. He scheduled me for MRI with HealthSouth and determined I had issues requiring surgery. Dr. Cartwright performed an ACL Reconstruction, a Meniscal Allograft Transplantation(I believe his first) and an OATS Procedure. Dr. Cartwright’s excellence saved my Army career. I was able to return to the 82d Airborne to be a Paratrooper again and stay in the Army to retire after 28 years of service as a Sergeant Major. He’s an outstanding Doctor who has the utmost care and concern for the patient.
