Alrighty. Jackson’s Grocery closed yet again. But it’s back again! During it’s time with a For Lease sign, there were a lot of things going on. The interior and exterior got a scrubbing and everything was generally repaired to where it wouldn’t be hazardous to walk into anymore. The counter moved from the back corner to the east side of the store. The old back area was re-painted, had new cabinets put in, and made room for a pool table. The middle area has been devoted to wine as well. Things are looking pretty nice. Sadly, it’s still pretty sparse on things. A couple gallons of whole milk, a small selection of old beer, a few eggs, some breakfast items. It’s still new yet, so maybe we’ll get to see some growth as things settle. At least the steam cleaners, shoes, and other weirdness have left ad given us a more focused business. The new guys running it are great and friendly and it’s still a solid choice for grabbing a sixer of Shiner before heading in to Fork next door.
