This used to be my go-to place for quick but good Peking Duck delivery. The duck once comprised tender, succulent meat and ample skin. The last three months, I have noticed a consistent degrade in quality. Well, tonight was my most recent and perhaps 3rd or 4th «wishful thinking» type of order, and the conclusion is in: They’ve gone down a darker path of dry meat and little skin;– what looks like a cobbling of leftover meat. The difference in quality makes me want to weep(I’m very emotionally invested in food).

Long time, family-owned place that I’ve grown up loving! Great place in walking distance of me. Good food, good area, good space. It’s clean and friendly, which I appreciate. There is parking behind it or on the nearby neighborhood streets. I LOVE the lo mein noodles, general tso chicken, and spring rolls: my usual go-to orders. I am a big fan of PF chang’s Mongolian beef, but theirs doesn’t really compare– underwhelming. Sometimes it’s really greasy, but that’s kinda what I want when I order Chinese! All-in-all, a great Chinese takeout spot that is also a nice sit down place. I’m a big fan!

Great food! Steamed shrimp and veggies and shrimp fried rice. Large portions. We took it home to eat.

Average. Ordered the General Tso’s, Crispy Beef and Crispy Chicken. The crispy beef and chicken had good flavor but was incredibly hard to chew because of the low quality of the meat and not cooked quite properly. In fact it was probably a lot more corn starch/breading than beef or chicken. The General Tso’s was way subpar… neither that sweet or spicy, rather bland compared to other places in the area. The delivery came exactly on time which was good.

My old roommate and I always used to order from here for lunch, they were quick the food was good, price was good, the lunch specials are pretty much the same as any old chinese place. This place ain’t too bad.

I don’t know why this place got such bad reviews. The sweet and sour pork and the crispy beef were crispy and delicious. The Singapore mei fun noddles were light and full of flavor. Everything came out ultra fast and the bill was very small. I will definitely come back.

I wanted this place to be good, hoping to have found a good Chinese delivery place after moving to Arlington. As a vegetarian, I ordered veggie chow mein, General Tsao bean curd, and broccoli with garlic sauce. The veggie chow mein had no noodles; it was purely veggies that tasted as if they were quickly boiled in plain saltwater. But the salt would have been appreciated in the other two dishes. The tofu and broccoli tasted like they were cooked in maple syrup(they even came with pools of it); it was actually hard to swallow. These two were also listed as «spicy» — I have probably tasted milk spicier than these two. I feel bad writing this review, but having spent $ 30 on this stuff, I feel that I should be honest.

Solid delivery! Always arrives hot and within 30 minutes of ordering. The homemade hot sauce is a great addition to any dish. Egg rolls are crisp and pork fried rice has big pieces of pork. General tso’s is good!

I ordered General Tsos chicken and Sweet & Sour chicken for delivery. Neither were crispy which was especially disappointing since sweet and sour chicken needs a crispy coating otherwise its just soggy battered chicken. The steamed dumplings were decent but nothing to write home about, exactly what you would expect from the Chinese takeout places in this area.

This review is just for the delivery service from Hunan Village. I like this place. The delivery has always been quick and my food as always arrived hot. They don’t skimp on chopsticks paper towels or plates which is nice. My go to meal from here is usually the Moo Sho Shrimp, fried scallops, crab Rangoon and egg rolls. Their Moo Shu shrimp actually really good. They don’t skimp on the shrimp and give you the perfect portion. My only suggestion would be to order a couple extra pancakes if you are trying to share with a friend. As you get 3 pancakes per order. The crab Rangoon is of course fried and stuffed with an ample amount of cream cheese and processed crab. I always buy an extra side of sweet-and-sour sauce to dunk my rangoons in. Being a fan of their sweet-and-sour dishes I have ordered their sweet and sour shrimp. The sweet-and-sour shrimp was average. It was heavily battered and very greasy. What is also good about Hunan Village is the minimum for delivery is only $ 10. So with only a $ 10 minimum for delivery you really can’t complain.

i’ve had mixed results when ordering delivery here. in general, service is pretty good and the food is edible. i’ve had several i thought were very tasty. sunday night, i ordered again. was told to expect 30 minutes — about the usual. 40 minutes later, i phoned to ask what happened. was told he was on his way. at the 70 minute mark, my phone rings. delivery guy can’t figure out how to get in the door. i’m trying to explain to him repeatedly but he can’t seem to get it. his english is zero. we wait. ten minutes later, i go all the way down to see what happened. he’s still standing there. so… terrible service, at least that time. on the phone these guys are better than most. i’ve had decent entrees in the past. this time ordered off the«chef specialty» menu. the sesame chicken(its a simple dish) was like pure rubber and mainly inedible. dumplings ok but not special. hot n sour soup very good. keep in mind, prices here are very reasonable(entrée only $ 10.50) so i’m trying to keep expectations reasonable. still… a fail.

I want this place to be good. It’s walking distance from me. I’ve eaten here on 3 occasions. Each time I got bland, limp food. The bones spareribs make no attempt to not look prepackaged. The fried rice was almost inedible. The main dishes are not very good. While I like that the dishes are most vegetables, the meat is tiny, prepackaged strips. Doesn’t matter if it is chicken, pork, or beef. It is absolutely devoid of taste. The saving grace is that the people who run the place and nice, friendly people who I think mean well. But the food is terrible.

I ordered from here twice while in Arlington recently. Both times, the food was delivered in under 30 minutes and the food was excellent!

If you live in Arlington, this is the best Chinese Delivery you can get! I’ve tried every chinese place that delivers in ballston, and this one trumps them all by far. I suggest getting the steamed dumplings, I’m pretty sure they are hand made.

For the first time in over a decade, I had dinner inside vs ordering in. The restaurant was cold and uninviting on my chilly December night. My feet never found warmth and the chill never left my bones– even with a cup of Jasmine tea. With the television as a main focal point, it detracted from the aging hodgepodge décor and the rundown appearance of one’s surroundings. The food arrived reasonably fast but was somehow cool and bland. I thought it strange that the food was cooler and didn’t taste as fresh as my delivery experiences. Could this be the same Hunan Village I’ve been ordering from for 8 years? The tv focal point, the Roman dinner plates, the Italian wine art made me feel like I was intruding into someone’s Mediterranean living room and it does feel like a living room rather than a restaurant. The staff is congenial and may be the only redeeming quality. My first dining experience may be the last interaction.

Best Chinese in Arlington… period. OK, we are really big Chinese food takeout eaters. We used to live right by HV and have since moved about 3 miles away. I have been searching for a great neighborhood Chinese takeout for the last 2 years and we have been disappointed every time. My kids now say«Why don’t you just order from Hunan?» So we will wait a bit longer, it is SO worth it for the better quality meat, fresh veggies, dishes made to order(for example, we always ask for the LoMein with extra green vegetables), great service from the family owner(Tina is super nice). Favorite dishes include crispy beef, chicken lo mein, health food chicken and veggies(sauce on the side!), chicken and brocolli, chicken and corn soup, garlic eggplant, orange chicken, triple delight. This place is awesome!

Very nice restaurant on the inside and the service was polite and quick. I ordered beef with broccoli take out and while the beef strips were a little fattier than I would’ve liked, it was still a good dish. They gave me plenty of rice and extra soy sauce per my request. I will definitely order from them again.

This place has great customer service, which is why I would have loved to rate it higher. Unfortunately, the food was horrendous. It was some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I hope it was only the 3 dishes I got that are not good: chicken teriyaki as an appetizer, chicken Lo mein and sesame beef for main dishes. The food was horrible enough that I will not try this place again.

Since my local Chinese delivery place is currently closed, I’ve been looking for other delivery places. Especially if I can order via LivingSocial or Seamless. My food looked good — kung pao chicken was chicken with peanuts and water chestnuts. Spring rolls looked crisp. But neither item had much flavor, and though portions are huge, I won’t be ordering again.
