Four Mile Run Trail

Deceptive in its given name (it’s actually a 7 miles), is a paved bike trail in Arlington that runs along Four Mile Run from Falls Church to the Mt. Vernon Trail near Reagan National Airport. It runs roughly parallel in some parts to the W&OD Trail. It also runs through Shirlington and can drop you off right near Capitol City Brewing (How convenient?!). It’s very twisty and *most* sections are relatively flat. I recommend getting on near Crystal City, biking to Shirlington (stop to have a brewski of course), then continue onward to where it meets the Mt. Vernon Trail. It is pretty well traveled but not overly crowded. It’s a, generally, short and fun bike ride so I highly recommend if you’re looking for a leisurely way to spend an afternoon!
