Nice Shop what you would expect from a traditional barber shop no frills I am not a fan of the overpriced metrosexual shops that seem to be the new norm. I found this place by accident needing a cut close to my work and have been going back ever since I have always been very happy with my cut and the price is a bit cheaper than what I previously paid and you get a decent neck message after she cuts your hair. Would give it 5 stars but have showed up for a cut on a few occasions and the shop was not opened so you may want to call ahead.

I arrived 45 minutes before her listed closing time and she asked me, «if I’d mind coming back tomorrow». There was no one else there. She may be a good barber(I don’t know), but seems like she doesn’t get customer service and I like to spend my money with business that treat me with respect and this isn’t one. To bad, I love local shops.

One and done I’m afraid. It takes a really bad experience for me to write a bad review as I usually let the thing go to hell but not this time. There are much better options and I only went here because I was stuck and it was last minute. Charlene needs to work a little on her chairside manner. I’m not paying good money for her gruff and downright hostile attitude and will take my business somewhere where people actually«listen» when I tell them how I want my hair done. She used an electric razor on the back of my neck that was either old, blunt or both because it hurt like all hell and left a big red mark. No talcum powder to ease the burning, Nothing whatsoever. Then I came home to find that she had left far too much hair on the top of my head and on my fringe which means I probably need a haircut in 2 – 3 weeks again. She also failed to pay attention to a bald spot that I pointed out to her only to lecture me at the end about telling her about it next time. Unreal! Don’t worry Charlene there won’t be a next time.

I didn’t have time to go to my usual barber so I stopped in here instead. I’m glad I did. It’s is a nice neighborhood barbershop. Charlene gives a great cut at a great price. She’s also friendly and chatty so the time in the chair flies by. From now on I’m getting hair cut here.

5 Stars for Charlene. No doubt about it. She’s very friendly, and she knows what she’s doing. I feel like the last 5 or 6 other barber shops I’ve gone to have been lacking in one of those areas. Now that I’ve found Charlene, I won’t go anywhere else. If you’re in the Arlington area this is where you should be going for your hair cut.

Charlene and her barber shop win«best of class» in my book. It’s not a salon(thank god — plain barber shops are getting so difficult to find), so you don’t get charged $ 40 for a buzz cut. She’s friendly and has a steady hand with the clippers; she also knows her fades and high ‘n tights, but does a good job with longer hair(I’ve had both under her care, and also seen the solid job she’s done on friends). She can handle anything that sits in her barber chair, as far as I’m concerned, and is awesome at working with people on what they want their hair to look like. Customers tend to line up here on occasion, so if you come during a busy time be prepared to wait — she hasn’t rented the second chair out yet, but that said, she’s worth the wait!

Swung by on a slow Saturday, was in and out of the chair in about 15 minutes. Then, seven minutes later, when I got home and was able to give my head a good look, I realized that I’ve had far better haircuts(and one or two worse ones.) Not the worst of all time, but it looks like it was rushed: a few areas weren’t blended in, one of my ears is really bare around, half my bangs aren’t even. There were some okay parts, but, meh, I don’t want to be thinking about having to turn this way to ‘show my good side.‘ For $ 15 you can do better, and for $ 10 at Fast Phils, you can beat a cut from Charlene.

Finding a solid barber seems next to impossible these days, which is why I was excited when this place opened near my office last year. Charlene is a skilled barber and goes above and beyond to take care of me. She’s excellent with fades and high-and-tight cuts. This is an independent shop staffed by the owner, Charlene, who always greets me with a smile and remembers my name.
