Don’t like its curry food. Noodles are not good either. Things are overpriced. Go there on your birthday if nowhere else to go, you get free meal.

Please do not order from this restaurant on Unilocal. They do not confirm deliveries, and today when I ordered and called to confirm, I got the phone handed to three different people and then someone hanging up on me 2x!!! This made me extremely mad. I called back again and they simply told me they didn’t know what was going on and hung up AGAIN! The order arrived after 35 – 40 mins which was reasonable but I ordered pork with my fried rice and I got beef. No one offered to do anything about the inconvenience and the EAT24 representative was more concerned for my bad experience than the employees at this restaurant. I love getting the basil fried rice from this restaurant but after this experience, I will now be looking elsewhere to find it. Bad service.

Do not order delivery over Unilocal.2 hour delivery to travel less than a mile away. When it did get here food was cold and bland.

Bangkok Bistro isn’t the best Thai restaurant in the DC area(Cue Thai Xing on Florida Ave in DC or Regent Thai in NWDC), but if you are craving Thai food and don’t want to venture into DC, it’s not a bad option. The staff are friendly and very attentive and the restaurant is always clean. Their green curry and Thai iced tea are good and will satisfy any Thai craving you may have. Afterwards, you can grab a movie at the nearby cinema in the Ballston Common Mall.

Average Thai food. Not amazing but not bad. Will go again because it’s one of the only non pizza places near my apartment. It wasn’t busy when I went and the service was mediocre.

Ok where do i begin, went there with my wife and her parents for dinner a few days ago. First of all we were seated on a table the least i can say about is that it wasn’t very clean. It didn’t take us very long to also realize that we cannot take our coats off because it was just as cold inside the restaurant as it is outside(it’s December in Arlington, i think it was 40 degrees). We kindly asked the waitress if they can turn up the heat and a few minutes later the manager went into a backroom and said that it should heat up in a bit. 15 minutes later it was still freezing cold, we asked the manager if the heat was actually on and she nonchalantly said yes it is and just turned her back on us. I walked towards the ceiling vent and luckily I’m tall enough to reach the ceiling vent and i was clearly able to tell that there was no air coming out of it. The manager was clearly lying! The food came a bit later, and it was just ok, i have to be fair i can’t complain much about it but then again, we were hungry and we were freezing, we would have eaten any warm meal at this point and enjoyed it. The waitress was also really nice. After we were done eating i tried to use a Bangkok Bistro gift card to pay(my wife had been going to this place often and she bought one of their gift cards at some point) and here is when it gets really bad. The manager said that the restaurant is under new management and that she can’t honor gift cards issued by the previous management. We tried to explain that this gift card is already paid for and that the place hasn’t changed(the name still stands and they still have certificates and ratings hanging in their walls which were obviously the product of the previous management). The manager lady also said that she wouldn’t let us use the card because she can’t be sure if there is still credit on the card(as if i would just try to scam her). She was so rude and i called her out on it and her response was very aggressive and extremely hostile. Never in my life have i ever seen a restaurant manager that had this low level of communication with customers. It’s sad that Unilocal doesn’t allow you to give zero stars. I guess the poor waitress deserves a little credit though she was so quiet the whole time and i can tell from the look on her face that she was horrified by her managers actions. My bet is on this place going out of business in the next 6 months which is really sad because from what i heard it was an awesome place under the previous management.

Management has recently changed and this place is awful now… do yourself a favor and avoid it all costs. They’re cheap and disrespectful towards their customers.

I’ve never written a review before, but I felt I need to let people know about the change of management here and how the service has gone completely down the drain. The manager/owner was rude, unprofessional, cheap, and aggressive. First of all, it’s December– you cannot keep your heater off. The few people sitting in the restaurant were all wearing their jackets. If you’re trying to save money for your business, this is not the way to do it. We asked the waitress if they can turn the heater on, to no avail. As time went by and it was still cold we asked the manager as she was walking by. When we asked her, she snapped at us in a rude way and said«okay I already did turn it on!» They also didn’t honor our Bangkok Bistro gift card. It doesn’t seem to make sense to me how you can keep the certifications, Trip Advisor ratings, name, and menus from the previous management but not honor the gift cards that people paid for. You can’t just keep the things you want to keep and not cater to your customers that have been coming to this place from before you took over. The entire experience just made me realize why the place was empty on a Saturday night…

This review is based on a delivery order. I’ve been to Bangkok bistro a few other times and thought the service was fine. Always doubted the food was fresh but thought it was all right. This time around I ordered their Thai steak salad and found a worm in my salad! Called customer service and they assured me I will get a restaurant credit the next time I return. Thanks but I won’t be coming back.

My wife and I went to BB&B for the first time tonight. We enjoyed the meal very much. I had the Savory Asparagus with shrimp and my wife had the Penang Curry, also with shrimp. Both dishes came with a very fresh house salad that had a very nice peanut dressing. Our only complaint was that the curry had one star(*=stimulating kick; **=tingling sensation; ***=raging fire) on the menu but had a bit more fire than we would call tingling. On the plus side, there were plenty of nice-size shrimp in both dishes and both sauces were delicious. Their alcohol menu looked very complete and, although we decided against beer with dinner tonight, had a couple of interesting beers on tap that were very well priced. We will be back.

I had lunch from them today and got the Royal Vegetables. It comes with chicken, beef, shrimp, and a medley of vegetables with a light garlic sauce. It smelled great and looked delicious but unfortunately it was a very mediocre meal. Despite the various aromatics it was just a sweet sauce and sweet was all I tasted. I’m giving them 3 stars because the servers are friendly and I’ve been here a couple times before. I had their Noodle Bowl soup with chicken and that was tasty. I think this place is worth trying out a few more times, I won’t give up on it.

Picture yourself in a 1960s era hotel. That’s exactly the sense I got from looking feel of the inside of Bangkok Bistro. Other than the one couple at the street seating of the restaurant, there was no one at at Bangkok Bistro except for the manager and one server who later told me she was from Mongolia. Usually when I walk into a restaurant at dinner time and it’s sparsely attended that’s my cue to leave, but I was so hungry that I sat down anyway. Despite the sugar that makes Thai iced tea taste euphoric, I hoped to order one. The restaurant offers two types of the drink, a frozen version, and a non-frozen version. The two drinks are identical except that the frozen one costs two dollars more because it is frozen. In any case, the restaurant was out of the flavors that make Thai iced tea euphoric, so I ordered regular, «un-Heisenberged»(a-la«Breaking Bad») American unsweetened iced tea. For my main dish I ordered Thai barbecue chicken at $ 14. It is a bit spicy, but I like that. Along with a spicy and sweet sauce, it comes with a salad and sticky rice. In Chile they wrap up the rice in corn husks and call it an humita, but this is a Thai restaurant and they wrap it up in a banana husks, according to the server. I should say that I rather liked the Thai barbecue chicken. All in all, dining at Bangkok Bistro was a positive experience. I wouldn’t rush back as if it were the fountain of youth, but I wouldn’t run away either as if I were pursued by a Donald Trump zombie attack.

This restaurant is located next to the Ballston Macy’s. They offer a decent menu of appetizers, salads and Thai food with a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes. The food was prepared quickly. The service was lacking as they appeared understaffed. A longish wait to get menus and then another longish wait to take orders. We had to request drink menus a couple of times and wait to order. Once food was delivered our server never came back to check on us or to bring us our checks. She was nice enough and the food was generally good. The restaurant itself offers a comfortable atmosphere with a fair amount of tables. They accommodated our group well. There was no problem with having separate checks. Reasonable prices with good sized portions. An Okay option with just average food and service close to shopping mall and hotels.

I like this place, it’s great for lunches because it’s unbelievably quick for the entrees they offer. They all come with a side of a spring roll dipped in peanut sauce and salad. They taste great and their service is excellent. And you can eat free on your birthday !($ 10 limit) Togo: Better call them to order. Onsite pick up takes longer.

Got the drunken noodles and tom yum goong. Based on a majority of the reviews, the drunken noodles seemed to be consistently good. ANDTHEYWERE. It’s these large flat noodles stir fried with your choice of meat(I got chicken), eggs, onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Flavor and spice was on point! I noticed the the spice level was 3 stars so I asked them to do mild instead. Either they forgot or I’m a worser spice wimp than I thought because it was still pretty damn spicy. On the other hand, the tom yum goong was okay. First of all it was overpriced. $ 6 for a pretty small portion with 3 shrimp and 3 mushrooms… The flavor itself was off. It was spicy and sour but also really sweet… which I don’t know is authentic or not but I don’t personally enjoy all that sugar in my soup. I don’t recommend. I highly recommend the drunken noodles here though! I doubt I’ll ever be back(came to this area for a business trip) but I’ll be sure to order drunken noodles at other places to see if they compare. New favorite Thai noodle dish. Thank you Bangkok Bistro.

It was my first time in Bangkok restaurant yesterday. great food and good quality. I like the atmosphere and the new owner is doing a great job. I had padthai and drunken noodles and I really like it with a drink of Thai tea. I highly recommend it.

Review based on carry-out/delivery order. Not only did I wait for 1 whole hour, I was already getting«hangry»… Entrees: Chicken Pad Thai — decent portion but was so bland! Probably the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. Panang Curry — so for an entrée that’s almost $ 15… They don’t include rice with it? I’m not sure if they forgot to include it because every Thai place I’ve been to, rice usually comes with the curry dishes. They definitely have better competitors in the area.

I had the appetizer sampler during Happy Hour for half price. Got a taste of almost all the appetizers, I think. The food was alright, nothing stood out. There was calamari, fried tofu, dumplings(like shu mai), chicken satay, crispy roll, and three different kinds of sauce. Although I gotta say it was cheap during happy hour for ~$ 6.5. The alcoholic drinks are also half off.

I have never dined in at Bangkok Bistro, only ordered delivery(through Grubhub). Their delivery has been timely and the food arrives hot and fresh. I’ve ordered the chicken pad thai and chicken pad see ew. Both were acceptable with good flavor, but not anything very special. The sticky rice & mango dessert was really good though! Yum! Overall my favorite thai place in the NoVa area is still Bangkok 54. Tip: The Snow White soup is spicy! I ordered it when I was sick hoping for a soupy cure and found it just too spicy to drink it all.

A great addition to the dreadful, limited eating spots in and around the Arlington-Ballston Mall area! I got a special Jones for this place in that every time I make a visit, they allow me to customize and request my own creations! The food is delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. This type of service deserves a huge star for their business, in that I tend to like to variate from the main menu from time to time. Also, providing this type of service allows me to be the chef in the kitchen… just not with all the dirty work and pots to clean afterwards! LOL. I just better not see any of my creations on their menu!.. lol…Because I will be back to seek a cut or some royalties. Haaaahaa! Overall, the menu is very reasonably priced and includes all of the traditional Thai dishes as well as some of the best pan-Asian fusion dishes. My favorite are the Pad Pik Khing and Crispy Whole Flounder. The also have lunch specials during the work week that are a steal all under $ 10 for a huge selection of main dishes, crispy roll and a side salad. The restaurant vibe is quiet, lo-key, and at a glance you noticed many hidden unique hand painted murals around. As for the service… it always top notch. The service is by far the best I’ve had since working out of VA – the staff is extremely friendly and efficient. In summary: * Service — Great! 5 stars! * Food/Ingredients — Farm to Table. * Rice — Unlimited! All you can eat. LOL! * Price — Very Reasonable; mostly under $ 12 bucks. * Ambiance — Modern space, bright, well spaced seating; Perfect for a date. * Bar — Heck Yeah! Well stocked and NO fruit flies! This is my go to place during the work week or when I want to stay on my clean eating kick with some flavor… minus my sweet tooth and infinity for fried foods.
