Arlington Pediatric Dentistry

I saw this place near my daycare and thought it would be a fun switch for the kids instead of the regular boring dentists office.
I really wanted to love this place. It was a beautiful office, great atmosphere for kids, and cheerful staff. Everything was great until I was told my youngest of the three (4 years old) had 10 cavities, needed several caps, 3 root canals, and needed general anesthesia.
First of all, I have three sons. 11, 8, 4. My oldest two have been seeing the dentist since they were four and have NEVER had any cavities. We’ve done the same oral hygiene with all three kids and I was holding back tears when I was given this news. I literally went to my car and cried about it because I felt like I failed as a parent for my four year old baby to have to go through this. To top it off, they gave me a treatment plan of $ 1700-​$ 2300 for MY OUT OF POCKET expense. I immediately was thinking of what I had to sell and who to beg the money from so I can get my baby better. I trusted these people, I mean, who would want to put a child through terrible pain if they genuinely didn’t need it right?
I called my husband after I was done having my panic attack with the news and he suggested that we go back to the original dentist and get a second opinion. Well, we left our original dentist today and not only does my baby just need ONE root canal, he only has 6 cavities; which is still a lot, but definitely not half of his mouth. By the way, my out of pocket treatment plan cost is $ 400.00, that is an unacceptable discrepancy!
These people were going to put my child through HELL with 3 root canals, and rape my pockets in the process. I’ve never been this upset in my life, I’ve never had anyone use my children as bait to get more money. Obviously I’m not the first person this has happened to either. I plan to go further than Unilocal and expose this company for the frauds that they are!

The staff is friendly and nice and the kids certainly felt comfortable there. They have a television above the chair so they can watch cartoons while getting their teeth cleaned. The bad news is really bad though. They told us that our four-​year-​old needed 4 root canals. I was feeling terrible and thought she must be miserable. She wasn’t in any pain though. And she has always been very good at brushing. I am glad we decided to get a second opinion because it turned out that she didn’t have so much as a cavity. I was shaken to think that we almost put her through all of that for no reason. She has been to 5 checkups since then and is still cavity (and root canal and caps on teeth) free. I do not trust this office any longer.

Great office. Clean and friendly. Movie room for the children while they wait which is great if they have siblings. Xrays were quick, the dentist was friendly and they let me know what my daughter needed to get done. Gave a full plan on how much everything would cost and what would be covered by insurance.
You must give 2 business days notice to cancel an appointment or you get charged $ 75. They are closed Fridays, so if you make a Monday appointment, you have to cancel the Wednesday before!
