The grills, hotspot stoves, and ac stopped working 10 minutes into our meal. They were really slow at picking up plates so we ended up having a lot of uncooked food sitting at the table since we couldn’t use the grills or the hotspot stoves.

Absolutely terrible services. My daughter accidentally spilled water into the grill(an accident)!! If it were intentional I would understand but it was not. We were in the middle of our dinner when this Happened! Three of them came over to our table, grabbed the grill and made us get out and even made us pay full price when we weren’t even served the full meal. This is the most absurd horrendous experience I’ve ever had and I do not recommend this place if you’re searching for a place with kind and helpful people who work there.

This place is completely unsanitary, we found flies in the lettuce, and cockroaches on the wall. We addressed this issue to the staff and they did nothing! They said they would tell their manager about it but nothing was done.

I have been eating here frequently since 2014, this as authentic and modern as it gets in my opinion for this area. I lived in South Korea my self for 1 yr so I had alot to reference the food too and layout is about the same. Yes it is pricy but it’s worth 1 visit atleast. Servers are great they do have a full bar but no one makes use of of it. The place is big enough to hold events such as receptions … the décor is a nice touch as well.

Save your money and go to a regular Korean BBQ. It wasn’t at all what I was thinking. It looked like the sauces and food wasn’t fresh. I usually give places a second try but I this was the first and last time I’m coming here. They have warm food that was cold. I know I shouldn’t expect much cause it’s a buffet but it looked dead in that huge place.

A1 food is the bang for your buck when it comes to a buffet! People expect too much when it comes to a buffet, it’s a buffet at the end of the day. When you hungry you come here, you eat good, then your fulfilled. That’s it!

The bbq is alright. Would be better if they didn’t marinate the meat way too sweet. Don’t try the hot pot, it’s gonna waste your 4 $

They no longer serve sushi, I’ve never felt so out of options at any other Asian restaurant, the food was not great but it was good. They’re drinks are good, not too sugary. They’re ice cream is really good.

On a Friday evening, dinner was about $ 16 per person. I’m just going to say this now that this isn’t a Korean BBQ place. It’s a buffet. Why put this place on blast for not reaching the same standards as a regular kbbq place? It’s obviously not going to be the same. Anyways, with that being said, their kbbq is decent. It’s funny how you leave the place smelling of a kbbq food odor much heavier than if you were to go to an actual kbbq place lol. I like how it’s in style with Jin’s where you can pick your meats that are labelled and displayed in the line and put them on your plate. Super convenient and you can portion it out to how much you want, whether you’re going for a small test sample or if it’s something you really dig. The meats are okay. Galbi is my favorite, and I kind of like how it’s seasoned here but the meat is a bit tough. The best part about the kbbq are the amazing mushrooms!!! Yep, you heard me. They are awesome, almost whole-sized mushrooms with balls of juice oozing out of every bite. Worth the wait when you’re grilling them. It’s the best thing ever. You can grill the onions too if you want. Don’t do that with the kimchi; it makes it dry and nasty. The dipping sauces are meh. I didn’t use the soy sauce one, although it tasted typically sweet and spicy Chinese style and yummy, I just didn’t want it with my bbq, and the bean paste would’ve tasted good, but it is way too watered down and less of a paste compared to other Korean places. If that’s how the owner likes to make it, then by all means do your thing, but I prefer it more pasty. I’m not a big hot pot fan, but their hot pot is bland, so I would stay away from that but it’s there if you ever want to try it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. A few pointers that I could suggest to A1 buffet is to get non-stick grills, that way it won’t be needed to change out the grill so often. They also didn’t have scissors; you should provide sharp scissors in case customers want to cut their meats smaller like we did. Some of them are too large and knives don’t work with chewy meats like the galbi. Their buffet is standard. Not the best, not the worst. I liked their clams and the cocktail shrimp– I always make my own dipping sauce with salt, pepper, and lemon. Crawfish was alright. It’s not in season, so I won’t complain much. Food is kept pretty warm. The middle bottom of the batch is always good to take your food there for proper heating. I think that’s common sense for buffets, but just in case, I’m letting y’all know. Service was nice, I guess. I’m happy the manager came to ask around and see if all the customers were doing well. He was on point with changing out the grills. The other waitresses could learn from him. I totally love the layout of this buffet restaurant. It is absolutely gorgeous and modern. If the food was top-notch, this would make an excellent venue for weddings, or birthday events. I went to a formal here last year and it was beautiful, although I didn’t eat much since I’m semi-allergic to seafood and that was almost exclusively what they served lol. Oh well. All in all, A1 Buffet is decent. I’ll come here when my mom wants kbbq the lazy way.

The food is not good quality but you get what you pay for. I do like how you can get how ever much meat you would like. BUT the marinades on the meat taste bad. Don’t eat the bulgogi straight up MSG: p

Yes it’s true, ITISSUPERCHEAP. All you can eat dinner on a Thursday was only $ 14 a person but save your money and go to a real kbbq place. It was absolutely dead in there at 6:30 pm. The meats here are self service as in you get a plate and put which raw meats you want and take it back to your table to cook. All the meats were un labeled and left out in the open air. Most places that do this type of self service keep it in a fridge of some sort but here they were just sitting there in open air. Same with the raw seafood section, disgusting. The sesame chicken was starting to congeal because the heating lamp was so weak. They didn’t have all of the usual sides that come with Korean BBQ like seaweed, pickled vegetables, or rice cakes. There were also absolutely no fresh vegetables. I couldn’t make myself a salad even if I tried. The most disgusting part of my meal had to be the fish they had out for us to grill. My friends and I said why not let’s try it. BIGBIGMISTAKE. It tasted disgusting even when cooked. Slimy and almost chemical tasting. Pretty much everything here is cold unless you cook it and even then it is very bland. If it wasn’t for that stupid«eat all of your meat or we’ll charge you extra» rule I would have never finished any of the food I put on my plate to try.

AYCE Korean BBQ! Umm yes please. All the meats were great. Lot’s of variety of raw eats and marinated perfectly! The kimchi was terrible. The already cooked items were pretty basic stuff comparable to Panda Express but who CME to KBBQ for that!?! I went back to snap a few quick photos and realized I missed the crab legs and raw oysters. The place is HUGE and really nice atmosphere with over a dozen TV’s with the college football games on. Staff was on point with clearing plates and filling water. We will be back!

There’s not much for korean BBQ in the Arlington area so it’s definitely a good price based on options and area. There are several options for bbq but the best bet is the pork belly. There is also cooked options if you don’t want to make your own bbq. The ventilation is not the best in here, so don’t be surprised if you can’t go anywhere else after eating here. Also there are no side dish options like in regular korean restaurants, just kimchi. Overall not bad for the price and location. I have been back a couple of times.

New Korean BBQ concept and I think the buffet suffers as a result. The cooked buffet options were right at the cusp of tepid and cold. They were also limited and subpar. There were quite a few BBQ options with different marinated meats on one side and seafood on the other. They were under seasoned and cooked slowly on the grill compared to other DIY Korean grills in Dallas. They may have kept the meats simple due to the fact that they have several legit dipping sauces available, but I still prefer my meats preseasoned. A1’s saving grace is the hot pot. You have the option of a non-spicy or spicy chicken broth. The hot plate boils very quickly and there are ample vegetable and meat options to throw into the hot tub(bok choy, corn, mushrooms, onions, tofu, fish balls, shrimp balls, sliced pork). Definitely the best thing here. I’m also starting a new thing on Unilocal where I review bathrooms to see if it’s related to the restaurant quality. In this case, it’s right on par. Average restrooms with relative cleanliness. There was 1 stall without a door and another out of order so this bathroom gets 2.5 stars. I’m docking a half star for the presences of one of those old school hand dryers where I was concerned that if I turned it on, roaches may emerge.

Me and my family have made the trek to Arlington and have been here several times. I thought the food was pretty standard for an Asian buffet the previous times, but my aunt invited us for this most recent visit because there was an apparent change in management and/or concept. The buffet now included Korean BBQ and each table has their own grill. Really, the buffet is split up into thirds: 1⁄3 traditional Asian buffet fare, 1⁄3 Korean BBQ, and 1⁄3 hot pot. Hot pot costs extra and I didn’t have any so I won’t comment on it. There was really lacking variety and selection of the normal buffet food. Not many meat dishes, and not many dishes period. The Korean BBQ was what we ate the most but it was substandard. For one, the grills sucked. It took a very long time to cook anything, and we had to recook meats plenty of times because it was still undone despite being on the grill for a long time. The grill is also really sticky so your meat will be glued to it; I suggest grilling some onions first. The meats themselves were underwhelming. We mainly got galbi but pretty much every piece contained a huge chunk of fat. We should’ve just gone to Jin or Omi and gotten much better meat and quicker cook times.

A1 changed their concept to Korean BBQ and it’s a big FAIL! The ventilation is so bad. I’m not sure how they passed the building inspection. Cheap cuts of meat that’s over seasoned. Limited selection of cooked food at the buffet. Just pay a little more and drive a little farther to Omi. Won’t RTE.

After reading the positive reviews for this place I was actually excited to visit a buffet for once. My family and I came on a Saturday night(6:30) and the first thing I noticed was the enormity of the restaurant. At first glance, I was happy to see the wide variety they offered from hot pot to Korean BBQ to Chinese side dishes and your typical random stuff like chicken nuggets and french fries. But after we began eating I noticed that most of the food items weren’t fresh by a long shot. The kimchee tasted rotten along with some of the seafood items and the serving areas were extremely dirty. Another big no no to me was the lack of ventilation. While the restaurant was gigantic, every inch of it seemed to be filled with smoke within 10 minutes of being there. They did prop the doors open with chairs but it just looked tacky. Fix that please; no one wants to come out smelling like pork marinade and smoke for a month. Finally, I was disappointed with our round table, which had one small grill in the middle that was not within arm reach to cook or eat from. You would have to stand up each time you needed to cook or serve meat, which was just a pain in the ass. I would prefer what other Korean BBQ places do and just have a long booth versus a large round table for our party of 6. After my dad rushed to pay the food bill before his kids could even have a chance, we noticed that the servers never came by again to clean up our tables or refill our drinks even though we were there for 20 more minutes.
