Mug’s Pizza & Ribs

I’ve rated mugs 5 stars not because of amazing quality food, but more so because of convenience of service. Their open till 3am which for having a job that gets out late makes for a convenient choice for dinner if you don’t feel like preparing anythkng. Their pizzas are OK definitely not the best around, and their pastas arent going to give your mother a run for her money. However their sandwiches are all fairly awesome and a great value. All come fully loaded with great tasting ingredients. Like I said, their not the best place in town, but after midnight they are definitely the bell of the ball.

The BBQ chicken pizza tastes like feet. Their BBQ sauce is pink and definitely a deal breaker. They gave me 5 bucks for my 20 dollar very underwhelming pizza. Monster pizza with meatballs is amazing on the other hand. Ciao!

I can’t say enough good things about Mugs… we rediscovered it again after not ordering for at least 3−4yrs and can’t figure out why we drifted in the first place… their delivery to our home in Palatine is always surprisingly quick (they say an hour but it’s usually about 30mins), the sandwiches are amazing… tonight we tried the onion rings and mozzarella sticks for the first time and they were beyond our best expectations., NOT greasy and as warm as if we were eating in the restaurant… The Italian beef, better than Portillo’s or Buona’s…the steak fries with cheese are always great… the BLT (my wife’s favorite) is AMAZING… We’ve never ordered the pizza but it’s in our near future.
Again, I can’t say enough positive things about Mugs… I’m not an employee or connected to the business in any way and I rarely take the time to give Unilocal reviews but after the rings and cheese sticks showed up tonight soo beyond perfect (like the rest of the order) and our previous orders blowing away our expectations, I felt obligated to give Mugs the credit they deserve for delivering us some of the best Chicago style food we can find.

Tried Mugs for no other reason than to switch up the Friday night pizza game. We ordered via grub hub and the pie arrived in about 30 – 45 mins which is quite acceptable for a Friday night. The pizza was a large sausage and pepperoni and the pizza was pretty true to Chicago style thin crust. The cheese was bubbly and good, the sauce was only the very slightest bit sweet and the sausage was savory while the pepperoni was about average. I’d say this pizza stacks up well with other northwest suburb pizzerias like nino’s. Two distinctions are that the 1. prices are a little bit cheaper than most and 2. the crust is a little bit thicker than most Chicago thin. Imo, true Chicago thin crust should have a slight ‘crisp’ quality to it. This crust was not very crisp and this may be important to Chicago natives so choose wisely your pizza pie…

amazing! Amazing amazing! Sooo delish, I’ve finally found the place! Ribs are out of this world, the sauce is sooo good! Fresh baked garlic rolls, homemade chicken soup, steak fries are perfect, and it’s been so long since I’ve had a baked potato at a restaurant that didn’t suck. Buffalo wings were yum, crispy and tender. Open til 3 am, even on Monday’s? I’ve found heaven, seriously!

Duuuuude this place was so sketch on the outside but it cranked out the best Chicago-​style deep dish pizza I’ve ever had! Sure it took a coon’s age for them to make but it sure was worth it! I even took a couple slices on the plane back to California!
I don’t even care that they sell ribs and pizza at the same time. Who does that? Who cares!
Look, I visited Chicago a few years ago and tried one of the most popular deep dish pizzas they had to offer but it somehow did not compare to this pizza here. It looked ugly as hell but boy did it stand up good by itself (bruh, double crust! DOUBLE. CRUST.)
We even had a crying baby in the car waiting on this pizza. IT WAS WORTH THE CRYING BABY.
Then again, I’m from California… whatever that means.

Ordered an XL Sausage, Pepperoni, mushroom pizza, which was delivered ahead of time given. Great food, service, price and delivery. I will definitely be ordering from Mugs again.

Pizza is amazing. I love the burners pizza and their deep dish. Today my pizza arrived an hour and a half after ordering and my pizza is cold! Very unhappy. Disappointed to say the least. The driver didn’t even ask if I wanted change…

I order delivery from here a lot. The food is always delivered quickly and hot. The prices are really decent as well.
Pizza, burger’s, pasta, and their rib tips are all good.
I’ve picked up my food a few times and the inside is small and utilitarian. The delivery driver’s are always walking in and out.

Pizza took over an hour to arrive. May seem normal, but it’s actually not as most pizzas today arrive in about 40 minutes. Driver asked for tip. (And be aware, by the way, that tipped employees ARE, in fact, required to make minimum wage… if they make less then this in tips, the employer is required to give them enough to be equivalent to minimum wage.)

This driver asked for this tip in fact right as I was about to notice he looked tired and apologize for not being able to tip due to being homeless and having paid $ 7 for this over PayPal without which I would not be able to read or carry things due to physical weakness due to lack of food because using PayPal money and these coupon codes in various places is the literally the only possible way for me to get food now, until the food stamp office decides to do it’s job. Of course my explanation to him would have been shorter, but I wanted to make an exception and mention it because he looked tired. When I called the restaurant at 2:50 because they close at 3 and my pizza had not arrived nor a call, and I wanted to make sure they did indeed have the order, they did not even answer the phone.
In addition to this, the pizza was cold. Had a weird, not-​even-​remotely BBQ-​like taste underneath the cheese of the BBQ pizza. Crust is dry, and neither crispy nor soft. Chicken tastes like it came from a bag of frozen chicken pieces which have been been refrigerated as leftovers, and then reheated, twice, and is also incredibly dry. The ONE and only thing this restaurant did right is that there is a lot more cheese… slightly more then the amount you’d expect to be on every pizza if you’d never had pizza before but knew what pizza was. (That was not the reason for giving 2 stars; it’s still not as bad as Little Ceaser’s or something — although Little Ceaser’s DOES usually actually do what they are supposed to do, such as having the meat be either meat-​like or burned.) There is also only a very, very, very tiny amount of green herbs visible on the pizza. (I know not all pizza’s herbs are visible, but this one’s clearly are and there is a very tiny amount of them.)
As anyone knows without reading any review if they are looking at the menu to consider ordering, they are also very expensive.

Terrible customer service and a complete waste of time. I ordered delivery at 1am and after a hour and 45 minutes decided to call back to get an eta on delivery and was told the driver already arrived but all the lights were off so he left. All my lights were on, including the porch light so it was a flat out lie. Then the rude lady on the phone began to laugh while she informed me that she called several times, another lie because the phone never rang. Their excuse of the lights being off so they didn’t knock doesn’t fit with them saying they called several times, why would you be okay with waking me up with excessive phone calls but be afraid to knock? I accidentally called the Schaumburg location back to asked for management’s info and was told that they constantly receive complaints about the Arlington Heights location.

Best pizza and salads are great too this is my go to place especially open till ram receptionist are always friendly I always order their pizza, wings, cheese fries, salads gotta say I definitely recommend it

I have always looked forward to ordering Mug’s, especially after midnight.
They are the only joint in the area to get food at after midnight. (delivered)
I had just settled into my new apartment and wanted to order some grub from Mug’s as I didn’t feel like cooking after a long day of unpacking.
I placed my order right after midnight on 6÷26÷15.
I ordered:
(1) Rib and Chicken Dinner (w/​Fries + Salad w/​House Italian)
(1) ½ Slab Rib Dinner (w/​AuGratin Potatoes + Salad w/​Ranch)
This totaled $ 35.91 w/​delivery, tax, and a generous tip.
My food finally arrives around 1AM and the driver calls my phone to announce his arrival.
The guy could barely talk he was so intoxicated. The smell of alcohol and MJ were extremely obvious. The entire bag reeked as if he was smoking in his vehicle.
I shook my head and went upstairs to eat my food. I open the bags and all that is there is a slab of ribs, a half order of fries, and a cup of Italian Dressing. Obviously, not what I ordered.
I called the store and was immediately placed on hold after the girl answering yells «Pizza Place!». Ten minutes go buy and the manager ERNIE (also franchise manager, more on this later.) answers the phone. I explained that my food was incorrect and I would like redelivery or to refund my money with GrubHub.
As soon as I mentioned the issues, he decided he could no longer speak english. He also got a nice case of the giggles. He told me in «broken english» he would not redeliver and wouldn’t issue me a refund. I asked him his info. His name is Ernie and he is ALSO the franchise manager/​director for the entire «chain» of Mug’s locations. (Des Plaines, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights. etc) I noted this and informed him I would contact GrubHub. He said he didn’t care, and told me what is in the bag is what I get. Regardless, of WHAT I PAID FOR.
Fed up, upset, and losing my appetite, I called GrubHub customer care and explained the situation. They told me this isn’t the first they’ve heard of this. They called the location and were demeaned, laughed at, and threatened. Needless to say, ten minutes later the rep gets back on and said he finally gave in and credited my money. I did receive my refund from GrubHub.
Interestingly, GrubHub no longer lists Mug’s AH on their list. It may change, but I’m hoping not.
As a customer who used to order 3−4x a month, I’m truly disappointed.
I’m shocked at the attitude of the location, as well as the franchise manager Ernie.
DO NOT order from here, you will receive whatever they decide you will get.

Great pizza and Ribs! Don’t even bother with other local pizza joints, pizza selection is great and not over priced. Ribs are fall off the bone good and keeps you coming back for more. No matter what yo order you will be happy with the order.

My buddy kept talking about this place. After working on a Sunday night getting off after midnight we drove from Oakbrook to the north side of Arlington Heights to get pizza and wings. Let’s just say we didn’t have left overs. Lady in front was awesome she gave us a drink and discount on the food with no coupon. I’m not a regular customer but their number is saved in my phone for mid nite snack. ;)

I always order pizza from them since i tried their pizza but yesterday i ordered a vinnis special and instead i receive a onion pizza with little sausage peperoni and mushrooms the flavor of onion killed my pizza very disappointed this time. Hopefully they hire someone who cares about someone elses food

The stuffed pizza is ridiculous! It weighs like 15 lbs and you’ll eat it for a week! Their regular pizza is pretty good too. There’s a ton of cheese.

I’m very disappointed. I used to order their cheese pizza all the time but this time it was thin, instead of fat & glamorous with loads of gooey cheese. The greek salad was missing kalamata olives and maybe a pepperoncini, or two?
I’m clearly saddened by the pizza. I used GrubHub to order, maybe they have a grudge against them. :(

I must say that I had high hopes and expectations for this place after reading the positive reviews.
To begin, the phone girl was extremely rude to me upon placing my order. After being quoted an hour delivery time, I received my order about an hour and a half later, at which point I wasn’t even hungry anymore. The delivery guy didn’t offer me change, instead leaving my house before I could protest.
My pizza was cold and ultimately wasn’t what I asked for. I called back to voice my concern, and the phone girl was extremely rude to me in return, not once apologizing, but instead attacking me, even going so far as to call me a liar about my pizza being late.
I’ve worked in the pizza industry for years, and I’ve never had such a horrible experience with customer service before. I didn’t even bother eating more than one or two bites of my cold, uncooked, wrongly delivered pizza.
I’m hoping that the GM will resolve my issues tomorrow, but until then, I’ll leave my review as is. Please don’t waste your money when the staff is so rude to the customers!
I will never order from here again, which is a disappointment considering it’s one of the only late night delivery services in our area. After the attitude I’ve received after receiving a screwed up order, I’d rather order from a chain restaurant, where customer service is actually valued.
