I received a gift card for this place and my fiancé and I decided to use it for our birthdays in February. Before going, I checked out the reviews here, and I was very skeptical about going because of the many negative reviews. All I can say is that we had a great experience here! We went on a Saturday evening at 5:30 and were seated within five minutes. We were seated in a large booth in a lovely room which was very cozy and nice. Our waitress was great and very efficient. The ribs are outstanding(better than Wildfire) and the steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. You get plenty of food here and we will be back again!

How can Portillo’s get 4 star review and a steak house get 3? Maybe this steakhouse should get in the hot dog biz.

To be very honest, this establishment doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The food is beyond bland and awful. We are here last night and our mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like powder, the steak was ordered medium well and came out well done, flavorless, and tough., salad was romain lettuce only and balsamic dressing that was majority olive oil and completely inedible, soup was chicken tortellini and broccoli cheddar which both were bland, bread was 3 days old that was shoved in a microwave and hard in 40 seconds after arriving to the table, and the chicken kabobs were too flavorless with the lowest grade chicken you can find and flavorless. Not even pepper or salt!!! We told the waitress who went to get the manager/owner who made us feel like we were out of our minds and told us we don’t know good food. He obnoxiously continued to tell us he owns a very expensive Steakhouse in Chicago(he wouldn’t tell us the name) and this is how he flavors his food. We live in Chicago and dine out numerous times WEEKLY in respectable restaurants. I went on to explain not only is it bland, it was cold and low grade quality. Mind you, 2 bites of the salads, approx. 3 spoonfuls of soup, and each«dinner» had 1 bite taken from each plate and he refused to discount us let alone apologize and refund us. In fact, HECALLEDTHEPOLICEANDHUMILIATEDUSBYHAVINGTHEPOLICECOMETOTHERESTAURANT! To our surprise, the police said we had to pay and that any respectable business owner normally would never make unsatisfied customers pay, however, if he insists the bill be paid, then we must comply. NEEDLESSTOSAY, we will not be back to ANYJAMESON’S EVER!!! WEARENOTPICKYEATERSEITHER, but we DOKNOW good food. VERYLOWGRADEQUALITYFOODWITHNOTASTE. I’VEHADBETTERFOODDURINGHOSPITALSTAYS!!!

Went to Jameson’s on a late Tuesday night. The atmosphere is an older look and you can tell that this building has been here for awhile and that they’ve a lot of regulars. We were seated in the bar area there was a good amount of people there 1 hour before closing. I ordered the Butt Steak(16 oz) with split pea soup, salad, mashed potatoes. and fresh veggies. Yes! All of the sides are included with any of the steak. The menu states that the meat is also aged for 21 – 30 days. The Butt Steak 16 oz was 22.69 $. Which i believe is a great price for all the sides that’s included. The split pea soup was very delicious and the croutons were awesome. The salad was a traditional one and they ask what kind of dressing you would like. The mashed potatoes were made perfectly and very delicious. The veggies was boiled broccoli and carrots. The food was great and it was made perfectly, but i think next time i will pick a different cut of meat. I believe that their porterhouse and rib eye are the ones that people mostly order. I would love to go back here and try the different steaks they’ve.

What a great place. We came early before a concert so it was not too busy. Our server was Rhonda and she was awesome! Funny, attentive, personable. As is I’d give the food 2 – 3 stars but the service added extra. Ordered the 11oz filet mignon with a horseradish crust medium rare.($ 31.95) Came almost med well so I was disappointed and they made every effort to make me happy. The steak was still devoured because it was a great cut. Homemade soups, salad dressings, delicious bread. Great décor. Exactly the place we were looking for and was recommended by our hotel. Would definitely return when we come back to town. Pomegranate martini = Steak = Service = Atmosphere=

My wife and I discovered this restaurant about 4 months ago and have been monthly regulars until tonight’s absurd, rude and deplorable treatment by the owner/manager. I have never been so rudely treated by the owner of any establishment! We will not be back, not ever will I give this arrogant, rude, schmuck another dime of my money. A little background… Last time I was visited I had the Philly Steak sandwich and it was sliced into thin pieces and easy to eat with no fat or grizzle to deal with as per suggestion of the wait staff. Tonight I ordered the same sandwich and it came as one huge piece of meat. By the time I took my second bite there was grizzle and fat and I had to spit it out of my mouth to continue eating. After biting into fat and grizzle a few more time I gave up and dissembled my sandwich and trimmed off the remaining pieces that were edible. My wife suggested I talk to someone and I flagged down the waiter and ask for the manager. About 10 – 15 minutes go by and the«manager» comes over and starts to argue with me about the sandwich, invalidates my past experience at his restaurant and then berates me for not eating the good pieces left on my plate. What are you my mother? I am full and a little disgusted at this point and then he walks away, doing nothing, no apologies, no asking if I want anything else, nothing. I was furious and asked the waiter to speak another manager and low and behold here comes the same rude clueless ape that just yelled at me in the name of customer service. THISTIME he brings a raw NY Strip(gross) to my table and tries to show me why my sandwich sucked and then starts pointing at and TOUCHING my food with his fat pudgy fingers and asking me why don’t I finish my last few bites of steak. Then he says«I am the owner there is no one higher than me, and I’m not going to do anything for you» Is this guy for real? What a cro-magnon loser! That said, I’ll be bringing my restaurant dollars elsewhere from now on. Never again Jameson’s, NEVERAGAIN!

My son in law wanted to treat us to a great steak dinner. He really wanted to impress us. He took us to Jameson’s. The service was poor, the cook screwed up one order so only 3 out of 4 dinners were brought out to us until the cook fixed the last order. The steaks were mediocre at best, the garlic mashed potatoes smelled like they used rotten milk and tasted awful. None of us finished even half of our meal. My son in law was obviously disappointed especially since he had to pay the $ 200+ bill for this less than satisfying meal so he called the manager over to let him know we weren’t happy. This manager actually laughed at him! He told my son in law, «it looks okay to me» and said, «garlic mashed potatoes are supposed to smell funny». I would have been fine with the poor service and bad food, it happens sometimes, but the actions of the manager was, in my opinion, unacceptable. It would have been proper to apologize and ask us to come back and try again or offer us free dessert. Instead, we found he didn’t care if we liked our meal or not and didn’t care if they lost customers. Due to the managers actions, we will not be back. We will be going to Wildfire next time.

I had to put together a post-funeral luncheon at the last minute, and Jameson’s was wonderful. They had a private space available and were able to add more space at the last minute if we needed. The whole process was so simple, and we heard nothing but compliments from guests.(And the event was full of old yentas, so you know if anything went wrong we would have heard about it.) I would absolute recommend Jameson’s for an event in the future. My ONLY complaint is that there aren’t changing tables in the bathrooms. Since it was raining the car wasn’t an option, so I had to be THAT mom and change my baby in a booth.

Great steakhouse! Meals come with a ton of food and it’s high quality too! Pay attention to their specials. I like this place because you can go all out and have an expensive piece of steak or fish or you can order a nice big burger at half the cost. I am completely satisfied with either. Also the bread is fabulous. Very good service as well!

We are regulars here. Solid, consistant food. I have had something from every part of the menu. However, WARNING!!! We ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer… horrible idea. It was 12.95 so we were figuring ok we will get 8 – 10 shrimp for that… not so much there were 4…4!!! I was so upset. I couldn’t believe there were only 4. Not even giant shrimp just the average sized ones. Very disappointed in that decision and we definitely never be ordering that again and would suggest no one else to do it as well. Not worth it whatsoever.

We’ve come to Jameson’s several times and in several locations for multiple family occasions. We’ve never been wowed. I feel bad saying it, but Jameson’s is very reminiscent of a retirement home lunch hall. While the décor and ambiance are very nice, the food is below average. To be safe, I’d stick with their steaks, which are honestly nothing to write home about. But you can be assured that they’re probably fresh because that’s what they’re known for. The rest of their menu is so extensive, you can almost guarantee that the majority is not fresh. Everything comes with an iceberg salad, cup of mushy soup, steamed broccoli/carrots, and a few potatoes. Everything is overcooked … we had chicken noodle soup(flavor decent) that had noodles disintegrating. The broccoli is truly retirement home soggy. We had crab cakes that were clearly used with canned crab … unfortunate. The only thing we enjoyed were the onion straws, which are hard to mess up since they’re just fried onions. If our ‘older generation’ family members didn’t like Jameson’s so much, we’d never go.

A place to get steaks. It doesn’t suck, and it ain’t 5 star. A step above Outback and many steps below Gene and Georgetti’s Service was fine and prices are commensurate. It’s an upscale«Place to eat™»…

I’m sad to say this place was so disappointing. I came here last weekend with a party of 9 and the only people who enjoyed their meal ordered something non-steak related(seafood & Greek salad). Filet…just okay. Prime Rib… terrible and flavorless. Philly Steak Sandwich… just a hunk of untrimmed meat. Burger… just alright. Only saving grace was the baked French onion. Seriously, I should’ve stopped there. The meal was all downhill after the soup. I have to say though, it was the best BFO I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot because I get it at every restaurant that has it on the menu. I guess I won’t be back to this restaurant :-/

Crazy food value here. Love the old school dinner-comes-with soup, salad, potato, and side. I’d say their bone-in prime rib is one of the best in the Chicago area. It’s huge! It’s medium rare! It’s got a coveted bone without extra cost! It comes with creamy horsradish and/or regular. It’s available every day! It’s marbled just right. It’s 100% melt in your mouth beefy goodness!

Great restaurant for a special dinner out. Very curteous and attentive staff make your meal that much more special. There were many multi-generational tables enjoying themselves. The ambience is subdued traditional with knick knacks in nooks and crannies, but folks ver casual and relaxed. We started w some spinach and artichoke dip, very addictive! Gooey and hot and amazing. I ordered the filet with peppercorn sauce and a baked potato. Delish. They also make a great Arnold Palmer! Will be back soon!

So if your really looking for fine dining look elsewhere. This place has some great dishes, decent steak and good value for the price and as others said you won’t go home hungry. Their Greek ½ Chicken is as good as what you would find at a traditional Greek spot. I recommend.

I went too Jameson’s off Dundee Rd. In Buffalo Grove, Illinois on Nov. 6, 2014 at aprox. 4:45PM. I state that be cause The Manager refused too give his name, was overwhelmed rude. I note that I have a chronic voice disorder, I only have a bare whisper of a voice so My Twin Sister had too order a med/well steak Sandwich for me. I note she hates conflict so she backed off when the but she ordered med/well. I got the steak cut into it too see how it was inside, it was a little too pink but I was going to eat it, it was Tough, I could not chew it, we called the waitress over and she said she needed too get the Manager. Well, he came with a not so friendly face with a menu in his hand. My sister said the meat was tough! He stood over me saying” you took one bite(it was said very rude and repeatedly” take another bite«over and over, I told him it won’t change, but he „badgered me into it so, I tried it again it was still tough, then I asked for something else he pulled the menu and said“ did you not read this,» they were not responsible for well done Steaks”. I tried too show him and tell him it was not well done it was med/well but he refused too stop repeating this! I said«what about the paying Customers are always right» he said too bad nothing else. I said I was putting this on Unilocal and Facebook, his reply«Don’t Threaten me» I said I not! So I put this on facebook and Unilocal Once I find someone who can talk for me I will call their Cooperate offices too report him as well. I then asked for something else, asked his name several times and he just walked away. I was shaking! The Waitress came over and kept apologizing over and over, I told her that it was not her it was he should apologize, she asked me what I wanted and I ordered something the same price as the Steak. She offered free Deserts but I thanked her and refused. I just wanted too leave. The waitress said again how sorry she was, she charged me for the Hamburger only, the manager wanted me too pay for the steak. I am outraged over this. We have a group of 20 people who do dinner once a month and have used this place, however, after this those 20 people and all my facebook friends plus who they tell will Never go there again. I would have walked out of the restaurant, but My sister was still eating.
