A few days ago I delivered our daughter via c — section because she was born weeks early. She had to be admitted into the NICU.
While here the doctors, nurses, and staff have been amazing. The level of care provided to her (and us) is above and beyond my expectations.
Everyone is so caring and helpful.
The doctors meet every few hours and discuss the improvements/​risks of ech baby here. They ask parents if they’d like to sit in on the meetings. Every step and process is explained.
While my daughter must continue to remain in the NICU I’m confident that she will receive the best possible care.

Northwest Community Hospital has neonatologists from Lurie on call for higher-​risk births such as c-​sections. While in the end my little one was just fine, it was reassuring to have him checked out by an expert.
If there had been a problem, they have a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) on site. They even have a a helipad for true emergencies that require services elsewhere.
