Emmanuel Christian Bookstore

This store is an example of absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever in countered in all my life. Not only will I never be back but will tell all my friends, family and all social media to stay away. The owner’s wife is the most arrogant person that I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I came in to purchase a wedding bible for my upcoming nuptials and was told by the owner that if I wanted they could engrave the bible for me. I thought to my self, «What a great idea!» I waited for about 20 minutes while they did the engraving. I was okay with it and started browsing the store for another purchase. When it was ready the owner’s wife who took care of the engraving called me over to pick it up. To my surprise when I reviewed the engraving it was slightly crooked. As this is for a very important day I was disappointed and told the owner that the engraving was not straight. She immediately got defensive and started arguing with me that it was not. She started to insult me with no provocation on my part. Stating that «It must be my eyes because the engraving is not crooked.» Mind you she was telling me all this in front of another customer who she immediately asked her if she thought it was crooked. Of course the customer agreed with me because it is crooked and she still was reluctant to admit any fault. After a long period of explaining to her of her mistake and the fact that it was for a very important event (my wedding), I offered a resolution and told her if she would refund the engraving which was $ 10 I would take the bible with me even though I wasn’t completely happy with it. She refused to refund the engraving of $ 10 and said she could only refund one line. Each line is $ 5. Finally she agreed to exchange the bible for a new one. As I walked over to pick out the new bible she shouted across the room, «Your husband is going to have nice life with you.» In the most condescending voice ever. Again she was trying to put me down. Since she refused my offer she was about to engrave a whole new bible for me. I offered one more time are you sure you wouldn’t just want to refund me the engraving? It’s just $ 10 while a whole new bible plus engraving would have been over $ 45. Reluctantly she agreed and said fine I’ll give you your $ 10 back. I don’t understand why she felt the need to try to put me down. I have never been more insulted in my life and would have never expected to be treated that way by someone who owns a Christian bookstore.
