Bomkamp’s Old Mill Bar and Grill

Stopped there this summer. While the food was pretty decent, the service was bad. I actually watched a couple come in, sit for about 7 – 8 minutes and left because nobody waited on them. Note: this was a Sunday afternoon FAR from busy. Really nice place, has potential for sure.

Wow! What a fantastic place. A real hidden gem. Eating out on the patio next to the damn was such a enjoyable thing. Have a nice view of the lake. And a very relaxing time. The real surprise was the quality of the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. Good quantities. Very well priced. I will definitely go here again when I’m in the area.

The fish fry was great. Sorry, but much escapes me about the specifics because I wanted to include the information of filing a smoking complaint. As I was leaving, a patron was smoking at the bar. I was dumbfounded. When I got home, I called Bomkamp’s. I was told (rather rudely) that smoking is allowed all the time and the owner smokes here too.
I filed a complaint with (
) and was finally told that Bomkamp’s has had ten complaints filed against it (but not actually if it was ever fined). That information is no where to be found on the website nor with the South Central Wisconsin-​Tobacco Free Coalition whom I ultimately dealt with. I was treated with respect during this process. I am saddened so because it seems like it is more important to keep those who violate the smoking ban a secret than to inform the public. The morning radio show reported that a woman bounced a $ 27 check at a local gas station but doesn’t report smoking violations. ???
