By far the absolute worst massage envy we have ever dealt with. We have been members for over 3 years and recently moved to the area. We cancelled our membership within one week of dealing with these total fools. They had to cancel both my massage and my wife’s massage and gave us zero notice. We were informed upon showing up for our scheduled sessions. We both rearranged work schedules to work in a massage but they really could have cared less about us. They put no effort into rescheduling us. Literally they couldn’t have cared less about us or other customers. Avoid at all costs!

After several recommendations I tried this place. Been going here ever since(THEYDOAMAZINGSPORTSMASSAGE). Great staff! The massage therapists actually care about what you want for your massage. Front desk are friendly and always helpful. Manager provides receipts via email after every visit for my health spending account!

Awful! Bruises from my massage; breakout after my facial. HARD sell to sign up for a plan and for products. Don’t know what I was thinking but bought products and then wanted to return them due to how my face looked the day after the facial. Almost impossible to get a refund — two visits, two calls, lots of rudeness. And, major evil eye from the manager when I finally got my money back. Don’t go here.

Scam artists. Absolutely refuse to stop charging my credit card even after going into store and filling out their required paperwork in person(as they require). Absolutely disingenuous. I have never written a negative review in my life but I just can’t get this resolved so I wanted to give you a waring… Beware and stay away!

Have not found a good massage therapist at this location who fits my needs. It would have been nice since it is close but no luck. Front desk staff is friendly and place is very clean. Parking is not really a problem, although there are times when the lot across the street can get full.

I just went for my second massage here today. Tiana is amazing! People are kind and knowledgeable, and the facilities are clean. If you are looking for a great massage that is reasonably priced, this is your place.

Let me just tell you this was the worst spa experience of my LIFE. Granted, this a cheap spa alternative for yuppies who like to be pampered without breaking the bank, however, do not ever go here. Save your pennies and go to an actual spa. They only employ people who are barely literate, barely 21, uninterested, and are poor at massaging. The handoff between management and the massage therapist is poor. Explaining what you seek is like explaining multiplication to a three year old. When I asked for a refund or a partial refund, the front desk lady Frida would not budge. She consisted to offer me to come back and pay 60 dollars as a «special» rate. Stay away from this place. They do not care and just want your money. Frida is also the owner and is pushy with trying to get you into the pyramid scheme. The actual massage therapist looked 18, and was not attentive to my needs. Frida did a terrible job of debriefing Jackie and Jackie kept sighing during the massage. Jackie did not fill out my wellness plan — oh excuse me, she did right in front of me. Classy. Frida also watched over my shoulder to see how much I would tip Jackie. I will never go here again. I hope this place shuts down because it’s all a scam who hard sells what is supposed to be a relaxing service. I left more stressed than I came. I wish I could rate this place less than one star because that is what it deserves. Save your money and go to a real spa. Not a bologna chain with an aggressive front desk and owner.

Terrible. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership, and they have YET to even look at my cancelation form. They charged my card AGAIN because their manager has not even given my form a glance. I haven’t used the membership and needed to get out of it. But how can I when they keep telling me that it will be taken care of… When it’s not being taken care of?! How is this place being managed? This is a type of thing that they should quickly take care of to avoid clients paying more than they should. Just terrible.

This isn’t the nicest ME facility I’ve been to, but I had an excellent massage by a very knowledgable therapist(Lisbet). She was great with everything I asked for when I made the appointment. The only thing that was a bummer was the hard sell they tried to give me at the end. I know, I know, it’s a one time offer/take care of yourself/blah blah. It simply does not fit my life right now. No, thank you. I will pay full price as needed. Kinda harshes your mellow after a great massage. But that’s the most important part– a great massage. Maybe if they weren’t so pushy I would consider a membership, but it’s a turn off.

Do not get a membership here. I went here once or twice and was persuaded to try the year-long membership at $ 59 per month. «You can cancel after 12 months without a problem,» they said. Well, that has not been the case. It has been nearly impossible to cancel my membership, and even after doing so, they have continued to bill me monthly! I’ve been on and off the phone with this Ardmore location in January, February, and now the end of March, and I have to say that the staff are incredibly rude once they find out that I’m trying to cancel my membership, and very unhelpful. I never had a problem scheduling my appointments, of course, but as soon as I inquired how to cancel, they referred me to my terms and conditions, then charged me an extra month, then called me twice to try to convince me to sign up again, then charged me for an additional month after I called. I’ve been so disappointed by the customer service. I understand that they are trying to get more money out of me by making me re-up for another year, but this is just unprofessional. I will never go back here for any massage after the treatment I’ve received in trying to cancel my membership. In terms of actual massage quality, I have had a few really good masseuses and a few so-so ones. I would recommend going here for one massage, but definitely think twice before purchasing a membership.

I had a pretty solid massage here over the weekend, which I managed to schedule only 2 days ahead. It’s located in a shopping center in Ardmore, where most of the other shops are kind of dinky – bartending school, two alcohol venders, etc. This place is right by the Planet Fitness. There’s tons of free parking across the street and a few parking spaces in front of the store front, too. I was greeted right away when walking it, but it was way louder than any other reception area I’ve been to before a massage. Faith was the staff member assigned to take care of me before and after my massage, as it was explained to me. I filled out a pretty comprehensive intake form, which she reviewed, and then talked to me further about. This seems like an unnecessary step and one I’ve not experienced elsewhere. I didn’t mind much, though, because I got a chance to explain how I like the pressure and for my masseuse to be – quiet, except for checking in from time to time. Then, I was shown to the Quiet Room, which was, thankfully, as quiet as advertised and very relaxing. Then, Liza came to get me, chat a little about my problem areas, and get started. She warned me that though I said I wanted firm pressure, she was pregnant and couldn’t do deep tissue, which was fine – I had only requested Swedish with very firm pressure. To be honest, she wasn’t that warm or welcoming, but she was actually very good at massage and got the pressure right, though she didn’t check in with me during it. The music was pleasant enough and a good volume, and I didn’t notice any noise outside the room. My massage lasted the full 80 minutes, and it was quite good. When I got back out to the reception area, I had to wait a couple minutes for Faith to get off the phone, because I guess you get assigned to one person who has to do everything for you? She asked how it went in a way that she actually seemed to want to know, and she was very friendly. Then came the sales pitch for the monthly membership. To her credit, she was persuasive, and yet not pushy, about it and accepted that I wasn’t ready to commit to that now. I think I’ll come a couple more times to see if there are other masseuses that I like before committing to that. The massage cost me $ 72 for the 80 minutes, which was a special introductory rate. To conclude, this was a very good massage for the price, and I would consider coming back and maybe eventually doing their monthly membership, which actually doesn’t sound like that bad a deal.

Ernest who used to work at the Collegeville location is now at the Ardmore location, which is much closer to my home. I used to drive all the way to Collegeville to see Ernest, which tells you he is the very best. He listens and tailors the massage to your liking/needs. He is professional and give an excellent massage. I highly recommend Ernest. You won’t be sorry.

So after 2 people recommended Massage Envy to me for my first massage I figured it would be worth a shot, especially since they have discounted introductory rates. My massage was awesome. Kaleigh was more than expected. She was very in tune with my reactions to her pressure. She asked beforehand if there was anything special or particular I wanted and while massaging she asked if I was comfortable and her pressure application was ok. I’m sure this place is more chain than an individual spa, but I had a good experience. They were a bit pricey, but have not had previous experiences so I’m not sure if it’s good or bad.

Nawh, this isn’t the best massage I’ve ever had — those were given by a blind man in Shanghai. But Massage Envy is your prototypical suburban massage parlor complete with private rooms, heated blankets, and elevator music with the occasional gong emanating from the tactfully hidden MP3 player. The rooms are comfortably cool and dimly lit. The staff is courteous, and the masseuse(Michelle) asked twice how the pressure was — since she listened the first time, no corrections had to be made. Come here if you want a standard, good massage to relieve tension. They’ll go as hard as you’d like… none of that flimsy-I’m-petting-a-kitten-attitude.

Well, we took advantage of the free 30 minutes after our last horrific visit. I have to say that our massages were 100% better than our first ones here. They were attentive and did exactly what we requested. They have to get their check-in down more smoothly, though. We were placed in their tranquility room to wait for our therapists and the front desk lady came back to get me three times for different questions related to our services. Then, we were taken into separate rooms when we requested a double room for couples massage. They ironed it all out in the end, but when you go there to relax, you just want things to go right the first time. We might be back or might try another location closer to our home. We’ll see …

I drove by it one day and decided to book an appointment. The good stuff: new, clean, rooms are quiet and dark, heated sheets are excellent, my massauge therapist, Deborah, is an EXCELLENT knot finder/releaser… if you have issues with knots… go see HER. sigh… the bad stuff. The 19 year old office staff who were talking to me like I have never had a massage before, I felt uncomfortable talking to them about my medical stuff. They are very young and you can feel their tension which makes you tense. It has a corporate feel to it not unlike a Vietmanese nail salon… in and out… well maybe a Vietmanese salon slash gym membership sales office. groan… the ugly… As I finish my massage chillin and ready to pay and leave I get totally tag teamed by these two young kids who hard sell the CRAP out of their 12 month lock in fee membership. total BUZZKILL. When I told them I would think about it they used tactics that were just… gross. The one dude wouldnt give it UP. I almost had to get rude. I looked at him probably for the 6th time told him no, he finally had the grace to say, «im sorry». I even signed up for a massage a month later but they wanted to move in for the capitalistic kill. And there was some owner or manager walking around who looked like a slave driver total douche energy waving off of her and the staff seemed scared of her. shit. i was scared of her! At the same time Deborah is ignoring me at the counter and telling the kid to book the appointment I wanted to make and was hovering around all weird… it was weird. I MIGHT go back in a month to see if they chill. its only been 4 weeks they have been open… but im not sure yet… still processing my experience, though Deborah WAS pretty good with me knots argh.
