It’s too bad that this restaurant started off so beautifully… Because now they’re coasting and you can taste the difference. The schwarma I had yesterday tasted so hard and brittle because The chicken has been sitting out for so long… And even though they shaved it fresh… The exterior of the chicken had become hard. The baklava tasted faintly of gasoline. The nuts were old. It wasn’t a good taste. I feel disappointed and betrayed. This place was great before… Now it’s become strictly average

Ordered the Falafel platter for pickup, usually greasy but good… Yet, when I got home it was fatty and disgusting chicken ends, swarma but not at all, it was the worst and not what I ordered. I called to complain about the mistaken and inedible order to get a replacement or refund and they were rude as hell and unapologetic. They said that’s what I ordered… Come on ma’am! So F’n done with this place.

I really love Middle Eastern cuisine and Hummus in Ardmore is one of my favorites. Its very easy, when seeking out Middle Eastern cuisine, to be served a vinegary mess smothered in hummus with dry pita. I’ve had almost everything on the menu but my favorite is the combination platter. I like to get the combination platter with chicken shawarma, lamb kabob, falafel, beet salad and eggplant. The lamb kabob is super tender and an absolute textural dream to eat. When lamb is done right there is not a single meat on this planet that can compete. The chicken shawarma is seasoned well and not tough, and the salads are refreshing and a welcome addition to such a meat-centric meal. The falafel at Hummus is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes its really fresh and crispy and sometimes it tastes like its been in the fryer for a couple hours. Same goes for the fries, extremely hit or miss. I had the turkish coffee yesterday for the first time and THAT was not turkish coffee. I got a full size mug of what tasted like run of the mill, gulp it down with an eggo waffle coffee and was not pleased. The ambiance is really casual and I would have liked a slightly more sophisticated looking dining room to go with the quality of the food. My biggest problem with Hummus is consistency, but you are more than likely to have a good and sometimes GREAT meal if you decide to go. 4 stars because the meats are always stellar and because I can’t count on the fries or falafel being top notch.

Quick, healthy and fresh place for lunch. Stopped here after an appointment at Salon Ziza and wasn’t disappointed. Ordered the combo and split it between two and it was perfect. I really liked the baba ganoush and shwarma. The fries are pretty good too. I thought the beef kabob was a little salty. Decent falafel too.

If you are close to the main line and like shawarma this is your spot. I had the platter with lamb and hummus the food was excellent. Stopped in around lunch time ordered there and we were on our way in 10 minutes.

Food has gotten better, service has gotten worse. It’s actually so bad that we’ll talk about going to Hummus and then go somewhere else so we don’t have to deal with the employees’ sh*tty attitudes. There are a few good workers here, but they’re so few and far between that it’s almost not worth the risk.

Very good! Had the hummus app with extra pita, the combo platter(shawarma, falafel, & beef), the Greek Salad, and fries. We wanted to try a mix of everything to see what to go back for next time. Hummus app — Very good, but the regular hummus was definitely plain for our taste, and would have been better with garlic. We definitely missed the garlic taste. It was still well-made, fresh, and good enough, but would have been loads better with garlic. Would def recommend getting at least 2 extra pitas. They do not give you much and then charge for more. Kind of disappointing, but the pitas are REALLY excellent pitas. So I’d say it’s worth the money. Combo platter — Very good. Just note that the beef option is like a sausage casing beef, not a slice of beef, which was what we were expecting. It was still quite good, just a head’s up since it wasn’t described as a «sausage» per se. Fries — Very good real skin-on potato fries. Well seasoned, well done, and super tasty. No complaints! Greek Salad — Looked beautiful but was surprisingly lacking flavor. The veggies were nice and dark in color, which normally means good flavor, but they tasted like any old hydroponic, so unfortunately, I have to take a star off because of it. Would not recommend a salad. All in all a great value for all the food we got. We had leftovers for the next day, and were very full from all we ate!

Poor customer service from the behind-the-counter help. The cashier had something on her face that was dripping blood. A customer pointed it out. She grabbed a towel and disappeared for a minute and came back maybe with some makeup on but no bandage. I did not see her handling food. The falafel sandwich I ordered with everything on it(no hotsauce was specified) was extremely spicy. I tasted the falafel alone at the bottom of the sandwich and it tasted like it was rolled in pepper. It hit the trashcan as I would not have wanted to wait in the very slow line to get something else. Besides which, I wouldn’t trust the people who have such a poor image on the front line. What’s out front represents what you’ll get, and the food matched the personalities

I wanted to like this place, I loved the menu when I read it ahead of my visit. Everything was just ok, nothing special. My friend also had raw chicken in her salad so that was a big turn off. The service was mediocre, one very over worked person running the register and cooking. I really felt bad for her. My falafel was a tad bit brunt. I also felt like the dining area could be cleaner.

There isn’t a ton of Israeli restaurants in the Philly area so this place breaks the monotony of pizza places, cheesesteak joints and take out Chinese. The food here is excellent but the price is a bit steep. After all though it is located on the Main line. It’s hard to find a place with authentic Schwarma rotating on a horizontal spit but this place has it and it is succulent. The veggie sides are all fresh and full of flavor. Great outdoor deck and BYO.

Pretty good! I love some good Mediterranean food and Hummus was delicious. i got a falafel platter(hummus + falafels + french fries + cucumbers + tomatoes + tahini + warm pita) and a piece of baklava for like $ 12. Pretty affordable and really delicious.

Hummus university city– I work nearby, and today I decided to give it a try, and I’m sure glad I did. I ordered the falafel platter, with rice, hummus, beets, and eggplant. It also came with a soft, warm and delicious piece of pita. The homemade hummus was amazing, I’ve made it at home before and I forgot just how good it is when you don’t buy it at the store. The woman taking orders was also delightful which made the visit even better!

From the fluffy, fresh pita, to the toasty, delicious falafel, to the extra creamy hummus, this place has very good food. We ordered the falafel platter(don’t get the hummus platter, because for an extra dollar you get everything in that plus falafel), and were completely full with food left over by the end of our visit. And we came hungry, too. It’s a great place to grab a quick Mediterranean meal. I also really enjoyed the eggplant baba ganouj side dish.

Before coming to this restaurant, I don’t even think I knew what falafel was. Now, this is one of my favorite spots in Ardmore! Their platters are very reasonably priced and you get a huge amount of food. I always get the falafel – absolutely delicious. It is served over a bed of seasoned rice. In addition, you get a very generous portion of homemade hummus, pita bread, and two vegetable sides. The service is always friendly and extremely quick! I love that you can sit outside on the patio and they will bring it directly to you. I have brought both my parents and my boyfriend here. It’s a real crowd favorite because you leave feeling full, without feeling super bloated. Oh, and don’t forget the Tahini Sauce!

After eating at Nova Mediterranean Grill in Villlanova, I was on the hunt to find a place that serves authentic Middle Eastern food. One of my friends who went to Villanova as an undergrad suggested Hummus, so we went. When I walked in, I saw a spitz with chicken shawarma on it and knew I came to the right place. I spoke to the owner and asked her if she was Israeli and she told me that she was. We had a brief conversation about the food at her restaurant and she commented that it’s authentic. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate with half rice, half french fries, a side of the tomato and cucumber salad, and a side of fried egg plant. Everything tasted pretty good. The shawarma was moist and flavorful and all the sides were just okay. If you order a side of hummus, they put fresh cut garlic in there which is very unique and makes it taste amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again. It is a little on the pricier side but the portions are generous.

Well I ventured in here for lunch today after attempting to go to the Chipotle across the street only to find a line of about 30 people ahead of me. Chipotle is allright but definitely not good enough to wait in a line like that! Anyway, I’m glad I had to change my plans because I ended up loving Hummus! Might as well start with the hummus, since that’s where they got the name. Their hummus is fabulous! Probably one of the best hummuses I’ve ever had and definitely one of the creamiest/smoothest. I got a huge portion of it in my Hummus Platter — I’m saving quite a bit of it for my breakfast tomorrow. Along with the platter, you get a choice of rice or fries(I chose the rice and it was perfect) and two salads… For my salads, I got the red cabbage salad which was nice and crunchy with a good bit of tang from the vinegar. I also got the cucumber salad but was a little confused because it was simply… chopped cucumbers. I was good with that though because plain old cucumbers are just fine with me, but I was under the impression it was some sort of cucumber salad. Anywho, the service was superfast. I mean SUPERDUPERFAST! By the time I sat down and checked in on Unilocal, the girl said«here you go, sweetheart.» Yes, I swear she called me sweetheart. It was kinda funny a girl younger than me calling me sweetheart. Cracked me right up. LOL. I was definitely pleased with my visit to Hummus. Next time, I want to try the Roasted Pear Salad… It looks pretty intriguing!

Hummus doesn’t deliver. You can order online at Grubhub and go pick up, or order at and pay $ 6.99 extra + driver’s tip. But I found that just showing up and ordering in person was very speedy, just 10 minutes. However, in her haste my server forgot the cookies, which I noticed before leaving and got corrected. Parking was easy at the strip mall or the additional lot across the street. Typical of middle-eastern cuisine, Hummus has good vegan options. My friend and I enjoyed our food: hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, chicken kebob. The rice was very well-seasoned and delicious. The stuffed grape leaves tasted canned. The pita was thick and doughy and too filling. I might go there again, but only after I’d tried a bunch of other places in the area first. Delivery options: 2 stars Speed of takeout: 4 stars Polite helpful staff: 4 stars Hasty mistake: 2 stars Parking: 4 stars Vegan options: 4 stars Overall food: 3 stars Value: 3 stars

I cannot say anything bad about my experience. The staff was friendly and my meal was DELICIOUS. I got the chicken kabob sandwich, and other then being a bit messy, it was perfect. I recommend this restaurant to anyone look for a quick, satisfying meal.
