Regular chinese takeout. Nothing exciting to talk about here. The food quality is alright. They do a pretty good job for chinese takeout. Don’t expect real chinese food from this restaurant. I get the craving for chinese takeout and this place fixes the problem.

Hands down my fav spot. I’m a vegan and they have more the 3 options for me. I’m never disappointed. Only wished they delivered

I ordered take out from here 2 or 3 times. I’m actually very picky about Chinese takeout, so I appreciate the fact that their food is not too salty nor greasy. Just for that reason I’d come back. Their food also tastes and appears more fresh than other chinese takeout places. The person taking my order was very kind. The price also wasnt too bad. The look of the restaurant is interesting… I think it’s a trailer turned into a restaurant. It’s very conveniently located and closeby a shopping center. My overall experience was a positive one. I would come back here and recommend it to others.

We infrequently get take out from here. Prices are good and we’ve never had a bad meal. OTOH, we stopped off recently for pickup(not our usual pattern) and one of your reviewer’s comments about the men’s room is pretty accurate. The word I’d use would be «off-putting.» Unair-conditioned, poorly ventilated with a urinal that didn’t flush. Says nothing about the food, per se, but makes you wonder.

Let me start off by saying that I only come here when I don’t want to spend a lot of money and want Chinese food. Food is alright but doesn’t compare to most of the other Chinese restaurant’s in the area. Cleanliness is not one of their top priorities in this establishment. The restroom is completely disgusting which makes you wonder how filthy the kitchen is. Plates and utensils appear clean but don’t have a clean shine or feeling to them. The meals are large for the price you pay and the lunch specials are much cheaper and still somewhat large portions. I wouldn’t say not to go here I’m just saying that there are way better options.

Came here for dinner. It was fairly empty. The waiter was extremely nice and seemed very professional at his job. I ordered the sweet and sour pork. It didn’t stand out, and seemed like typical Chinese food. I will be coming back to try other menu options if possible.

Delicious, dirt cheap Chinese food, right across the street from my local Toyota dealer. I had one of the lunch specials(they have many under $ 7) and everything was hot, delicious, and served promptly. And cheap! It’s not PF Changs, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. My only regret is that my car is so reliable, I’m only in Ardmore once or twice a year. If you’re looking for a consistent, affordable Chinese meal, give Chung Sing a try!

This place is awesome for a cheap lunch take out. You get what you pay for. You get a lot of food for very cheap. Its not Yang Ming but I eat lunch here regularly.

You have to love the kitsch of this place. Chung Sing is always good. They are quick, consistent, and cheap. So so cheap. I have recently tried a few other Chinese restaurants in town, and Chung Sing is still best. Plus you get dessert when you order one of their meals.

I’m giving them 5 stars, just because they are who they are, without any pretension. They’ve been around forever, and while they’re not Morimoto or Yang Ming, their food is consistent if not spectacular, and amazingly inexpensive. Best egg rolls on the main line. I have been a patron on and off for 20+ years, even when I didn’t live in the area I came back now and then because it’s kitschy and cute, and it’s an Ardmore landmark. I don’t understand some of the whiners that come onto Unilocal just to bitch, as if they’re a food critic for the New Yorker. «Wah! I only got TWO gigantic wontons on my bowl of soup!» Get real. This place is just good. If you want decent, quick, cheap Chinese food — try it. The bathrooms are bad, yes — but I advise you to eat in the nicely clothed booths instead. The staff is friendly and attentive on their worst days. Try the lemon chicken! You won’t be sorry.

Good food. Not brilliant but always good. Over 21 years I have decided to stick with the eggplant in spicy garlic sauce. I am here at least twice a month and it always tastes great. The dumplings used to be a favorite when I could eat them. The staff is always pleasant. Seems like most of their business is take-out. Miss this place since going GF. Can’t avoid soy sauce in any Chinese restaurant. Can’t someone open a gluten free one?

It pains me to give this place only three stars, but I know it’s not great food and it’s basically an institution in the area so I(crossed fingers) know it’s not going out of business any time soon. I have been eating here for going on twenty years, have watched the kids of the owners grow up, and feel very nostalgic and happy whenever I stop in. Convenient if you have to wait at the car dealerships in the area for service, or if you just want a quick and cheap spot of standard American style Chinese food. Their lunch specials have always been cheap, although they’ve slowly graduated over the years with inflation(they used to be $ 4.35 or so, but I’m dating myself…). I think they’re still around $ 6 for a heaping plate of rice, an entrée, and a spring roll or soup(get the hot and sour soup). Their crispy noodles and duck sauce are yummy and come standard before every meal. You take this for granted until you go to a foreign country where nothing comes free except tap water… The interior is tiny but quaint and cosy for a small group. It’s rarely full except sometimes on weekends, but they have quick take out alternatively. Thanks for all the memories, Chung Sing.

this may be the worst chinese food i’ve ever had. now, i’ve lived in china, but i can see the place for american-style chinese food, and i love diners. i’d read the reviews, so i wasn’t expecting authentic food, just tasty. this, though, was terrible — my dish(i had some sort of meat and vegetable stirfry) had an off taste and i couldn’t even finish it. if you’ve ever had good chinese food, you probably want to skip this place.

Good, not great! This is more of an old-fashioned place. Most items are good however it’s not nearly as good as Sang Keep. The upside is they are much less costly than Sang Keep. I go here every week. This is very much a family business and they are very accommodating.

Solid and very very good prices. Two people can easily share the lunch special which is only $ 6! The rest of the menu is also can’t beat prices. Good for carry out or for a quick lunch. Kind of a dated look, but kitschy – it’s a dinner.

Really a great value. On food alone, it would be 2.5 to 3 stars, however I’m adding a star because you really cannot beat the prices. For some reason, my kids have taken a liking to the pork dumplings here and ask to eat here regularly.

The best food with the greatest value anywhere. Two people can easily eat their fill for less than $ 10, enough said…

I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food, I’ve never gotten into the huge beef and broccoli phase or the hot and sour phase. To tell you the truth I’m still not a fan, but I would be lying if I said Chung Sing wasn’t good. Every time I’m forced to come here I order the General Tso’s chicken with egg drop soup… and chocolate ice cream :) My friends absolutely adores Chinese food, and if they could they would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So out of the kindness of my heart(and the fact that I’m too lazy to cook sometimes) occasionally I tag along and we make our way out here for dinner. Their fried rice isn’t bad, but I don’t order it anymore only because I like mine better. I do like the crispy noodles & duck sauce that they give in the beginning of the meal. They do give you a huge portion, so I always bring a little over half home so I can eat it for lunch the next day. The only reason why I give it four stars is because most of the food looks so greasy. In reality I want to give them 3.5 stars, but since we can’t give half a star I just gave them the benefit of the doubt and rounded up :)

Chung Sing gets a solid three-stars for decent«Pennsylvania-style» Chinese food(in all of the places I’ve lived, only in PA do you consistently get those crispy noodles before you even order) at a laughably low price. Really? $ 7 for a cup of soup, a heaping plate of food, tea and dessert? The food isn’t remotely authentic, but it hits the spot when you’re really hungry, don’t feel like cooking, don’t feel like changing into nicer clothes, and don’t want to pay much. I enjoy the Chinese diner kitsch and like being close enough to the other tables to eaves-drop, so watch out– I might just be sitting over your shoulder.

I like the kitsch of the place more than I like the food. The place is a refinished dinner. The booths are plastic. There are lots of mirrors. It’s very tiny. I could easily picture a counter with Flo the waitress pouring coffee. Except our waitress was named May and she poured tea. The food is better than fast food chinese but not as good as more gourmet chinese. Lots of fried noodles, gloopy sauces and thick dough around the steamed dumplings. But, there are plenty of vegetarian options which are also pretty good. The staff is friendly and polite. They work hard. It’s relaxed. It’s not expensive. For what it’s worth, it’s «fine». And the little bit of kitsch makes it even a little fun.
