Had 3 soft Tacos, soft is the correct word as they where so wet from either water or grease the stuff ran down your arm. Would have called them out but did not wish to make a scene. Will never visit there again.

We make the Chicago to Evansville trip quite a bit taking I-57. We just started looking for some non-fast food places. We found more than we were looking for at El Toro. I had the Carnitas Dinner. It was cooked very nicely with succulent meat and great flavor. Great service. Everything was fast too to get us back on the road. My wife had the margarita which was good too.

Most authentic Mexican food around. The tacos are always fresh and the green salsa is the best I’ve ever had!

Great food! Fantastic salsa and really solid Fajitas. Marquita’s were very tasty as well!

My favorite Mexican food in the area. There salsa is awesome! I order the happy polo and it is always delicious. It is a small place though, and loud at times, but the food is really good. The service is good as well. Waiters check on tables often. The parking lot is really really small though, and it is hard to get in and out of, often I’m not able to get my car out because I’m blocked in. But if you can get a good parking spot you should be set.

Great Mexican resturant just off the highway in Arcola. I’ve eaten there many times and it’s been hit and miss but this past weekend with my wife and sister we all had unbelievable meals. I had the fried Chicken Chimichangas which come with refritos, salad, guac and sour cream smothered in a red sauce. Absolutely delicious. Almost licked my plate clean. My wife had the Tacos de carne asada and they came with a nice plate of refritos and salsa. She also loved them. My sister had a sizzling plate of carne asada, bacon, poblano and onions with a side plate of beans and rice and 4 warm tortillas. It was a heaping portion that I was happy to help her with. Good to the last bite! We started the meal with tasty fresh warm chips and salsa and the obligatory«Gringo» cheese dip, also great. Pretty solid Mexican beer selection including Sol and Margarita’s varying from single glass to pitcher. All in all, a very solid visit. Can’t wait for next time!
