Lianess Macarons is now closed. The little store booth was located down the same wing as Nordstrom at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. Their macarons cost $ 1.80 each. They definitely had a pretty large selection of flavors to choose from. I thought their lavender flavored macaron was pretty good. The almond flavored macaron was also good. But I did not like their coffee or mint flavored macarons. One thing I did want to mention was that the sizes of their macarons were not consistent. When I had purchased 2 of each of these flavors, they were all different sizes. I felt like I was getting ripped off when I had one smaller sized lavender and mint flavored macaron. But the service itself was less than friendly, which just seems to be trend that at dessert stores, employees are usually not cheery or chipper(shouldn’t they be though?). There was always this young kid who was working this little booth and always looked annoyed or angry, which you could tell that he did not want to be there(which actually made me hesitate to try this place when they first opened up). Anyways, although this location is now gone, there are still a few other locations around(Culver City Westfield, Valencia and Santa Clarita).

Tasty macaroons! I had the matcha green tea and I tried a bit of my boyfriend’s espresso(or was it coffee?) cookie. Mine was very flavorful and like biting into a cloud, so soft! My boyfriend’s was a bit toaster and flakey, delicious regardless. I just wish there were more flavor options!

A very adorable boutique shop in the mall: I am so in love with it. They have all my favorite flavors: earl grey, jasmine, rose water, and matcha. My ultimate favorite was jasmine, then matcha, earl grey, and rose water. Jasmine: perfect blend of the jasmine flower taste yet the flowery aspect is not overwhelmingly strong. It was just the right amount and balanced perfectly in the middle between scent and taste Matcha: this is the first successful matcha macaron I’ve had, and they really captured the Japanese matcha taste to almost perfection Earl grey: I love earl grey, but the problem with it is always making it too strong. However, this time it was too light. Maybe it was just this batch, but better light than overly strong! Rose water: I heard rose water is extremely tricky to work with when it comes to pastries. In this case, the rose flavor was too strong for me. My cousin liked it a lot, but for those who might not favor flowery flavors or perfume, this macaron might not be for you. As for the texture, I’m not very picky about it so I thought it was fine. It was soft, although it did crack pretty easily, but it was just like any macaron for me. To top it all off, you get 15% off your order every time you check in :) just let the cashier know. The macarons are smaller than normal(it’s actually the correct size compared to the ones in France), but for ~$ 8 for a box of 6, it was soo worth buying. Original price was $ 10.50! So don’t forget to check in for the discount!

I love Ferrero Rocher and they were out of that flavor. During lunch time on a Wednesday, mall’s not even that busy. Next time I hope. Please know what you’re selling: which are MACARONS. If you don’t know the difference, look it up, please. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves.

Like another reviewer mentioned, the texture of the macaron is not good. It’s airy and the flavors aren’t present. The macaron itself is too sweet and lacks a potent amount of extract, in comparison to other macaron competitors. Also, the macaron itself doesn’t look good: a lot of artificial colors. I mean like bright pink for rose instead of a tasteful slightly muted pink, and no artful paintings or toppings for the almond macarons to make the almond macaron special. Because essentially, all macarons contain almond flavoring from the almond flour. This is the 3rd time trying the macarons. The first time I tried it, the macaron texture was fine: it wasn’t too airy and it didn’t break easily. However, the second and third time it was airy and crumbled easily. The lack of consistency and quality pushes me away from buying macarons here again. Also, the service here is a hit or miss. Some of them are nice, some of them aren’t the most customer-oriented. They use square but they don’t have a printer to print your receipt so you can only receive email or text messages for your receipt. Basically, I’ve had better and wouldn’t recommend this place unless you need to increase your blood sugar levels.

One of the best macarons I’ve had! I love macarons and have been disappointed numerous times. Well, not here! Lavender was delicious. The texture was just right. I can’t wait to go back.

Finally! A place that sells macarons at the Santa Anita mall. I was excited for Caffe Concerto, but having tried Liansss(Lian’s Sweet Shoppe), I wouldn’t mind picking up a few from Liansss every now and then. Liansss is a little kiosk located outside of Nordstroms. They only sell macarons. You can buy them individually or in boxes of 6, 10, or 25. I think you save a few cents if you buy them in boxes. The macarons are already wrapped in open-ended plastic, so all the worker does is place them into a box or a plastic bag. The price of 1 is $ 1.80, which isn’t bad at all. I wasn’t expecting too much, so I was pleasantly surprised at how good these macarons were! I tried the almond and salted caramel, and both had good flavor. The shells could have been more crumbly, but I thought it wasn’t bad for the price I paid. I would say that these macarons are more on the chewy side. I really liked the almond, but the salted caramel had more flavor. The macaron literally oozed out caramel. I definitely would come back to pick up a few or maybe even a box when I want to splurge on treats for myself … or for others.

Cute little kiosk. Loved Ferrero Rocher the most, but they were all good! The gal was friendly, and recommended her favorites. Slight crunch on the outside and chewy in the middle. Didn’t expect much, but glad we tried.

I love the Salted Caramel!!! It’s chewy, rich, and satisfying. These are very elegant treats, and high quality ingredients. Price is worth every bite. Must try!

I’m a macaron fiend. I love them. My sil and i always try to find the best. Rewind: Alhambra CNY street festival 2015. Oh look, there’s a macaron shop. I purchased a pre-determined set, my mind doesn’t remember all the flavors but here are the ones i remember. Strawberry, red velvet, Ferro Roche, cookies and cream… it was a six pack… Loved the strawberry, one of the best strawberry macarons we’ve tasted. It left us wanting more. It tasted like strawberry ice cream. Fast forward: Santa Anita Mall 4÷29÷15 a macaron kiosk that we’ve searched for. Mind you we searched for this shop. We forgot their name, I search the vendors and they weren’t listed from the festival. Thank goodness for hashtags. I found a picture on instagram with their logo and my search began and i found them. Omg, Valencia, that’s super far. But then we found they just opened here! Exciting! My sil bought a 10 pack, $ 17 something. 4 strawberry, 2 red velvet, 1 smore, 1 pistachio, 1 salted caramel and 1 neapolitan. :[ Overall, we tasted the strawberry first and was sadly disappointed. It was just like a sugar cookie. A sweet, not chewy macaron. It was airy, when i bit into it, it was basically air then a thin layer of «macaron», then the sweet filing. It honestly had no strawberry taste. I will not be purchasing these again. I’ll stick with other well made macarons that cost about the same. So disappointed. I haven’t tried them all, but i will now and update this review later. Wish me luck.
