Boo boo. I was so excited to try this place when my sister showed it to me on Unilocal… but I was so beyond disappointed… It is a little stand in the middle of the food court(where DQ used to be, I think). When you walk up to the stand, you notice all the cute little food models that they have. The moment I saw those cute little food models, I turned into a giddy, little girl! The girl who helped me was a bit awkward but very patient and tried her best to help me decide. I ended up ordering the square beignets filled with nutella, which costed $ 5.40 for two(a bit ridiculous if I must say. even Disneyland’s beignets are cheaper). Nutella filled beignets: aka raw dough covered nutella. Upon receiving the beignets, they did look really pretty, just like the models. The girl who made them informed me that she isn’t going to close the box because they just came out of the frier, and that would make them soggy. I was super excited to try them! When I cut into it, I noticed that the dough was a bit sticky… I cut it into a smaller piece to look at, and I noticed that the dough was still doughy. Going against my own instinct, I still ate it… bad idea. My stomach didn’t feel so well after a while. Always listen to your gut instinct, guys… I’m not trying to say I’m a beignet expert, but the ones I’ve had before are sugary, pillowy pieces of heaven. This on the other hand, was not. The best part of this was the nutella, because who can ever mess up nutella? Would I try this again? Probably not… unless someone I trust swears on their unborn child that the dough is cooked through, and it tastes like sugary, pillowy pieces of heaven.

First time try at this place. We ordered savory and sweet crepes as well as their famous bengei and Danish puff. It’s is surprisingly good for its quality of food and reasonable price! The Nutella Danish puff is a bomb! Strongly recommend! They also use good quality coffee beans and tea leaves. Staff are super friendly and knowledgable of what they are serving. I will definitely come back again! :)

On top of the delicious Danish puffs, the customer service here is awesome! The employee helping me was open to letting me sample any of their coffees, and even gave a free puff pastry to my friend who was waiting with me. She was really sweet and after talking with the owner a bit you could really tell he is passionate about brewing coffee and making homemade pastries. I would come back here just because of how nice they were and to try all of their other homemade baked goods!

Ooh. Myyyyy. Yummm. I can’t begin to describe how delicious this Ashta Crêpe was. But before we even get to that, let’s start this review off with how cute this place is. The Urban/Euro feel took me outside of «mall mode.» My sister and I initially came to Confection just for a regular cup of coffee. To our surprise, they serve only organic brew and tea(so tasty!) Now let’s talk customer service — in the first five minutes that we spoke to Marina and Eddie, we received their undivided attention and were so impressed with the amount of knowledge and pride that they put into their product. We were thrilled to find out that they also cater! Okay now, back to the Ashta Crêpe. This was seriously one of the best desserts I have ever had! You HAVE to try it! It was so fresh, had the perfect about of sweetness, and to add to the perfection, a garnish of pistachios. Thank you SOMUCH for sharing your love of decadence with us! We will be back soon!

Super understanding, and sweet people. Service is as great as it gets :) Beignets are really good and fresh. They actually care about visual displays of their food so that was a nice bonus. Come here for good service and good dessert!

This place is soooooooooooo good, I keep going to the mall just so that I can visit and have my fix… I just love the service they provide they literally treat me like a Queen and if an order is delayed they will inform me head of time. I love that specially the fact that it all comes out fresh nothing is frozen. It’s our families first choice for breakfast and delicious desserts. Great Job Confection

First, the plating and presentation are beautiful. The employees really care about what they’re doing which really nice! They warn when you order how it will take so you can’t complain about waiting too long. It’s good since it comes out ~*fresh*~ We got the vanilla custard and Nutella puffs. The vanilla was a nice compliment to the dough which actually tastes like pancakes. I always find Nutella to be overpowering so it took over the dough flavor. That’s up to you if you like pancake taste over chocolate. We got the mint mojito which was okay. Be sure to check in for free puff while they’re still offering!

This place is sooo good! It’s a gem to find in the middle of a mall, of all places! They should have their own space to work from! Soo good! Presentation was really good too! We only tried their teas/lemonade. The lemonade was really good but need to try their coffees next time. I have this feeling they’re really good! Coming back again for sure!

Their berries & crème crêpe was really yummy! We also tried their Danish puffs(raspberry filled) and it was also good but we really enjoyed the crêpe much more. The strawberries & blueberries were sweet and the crème inside the crêpe was just perfect. Service was great too! We will be coming for some more crêpe! And trying the beignets too! noms!

Best Nutella anything you’ll have in your life. And their beignets are better than anywhere you’ll find I assure you. No need to go to New Orleans anymore since the owner got the recipe from his travels to New Orleans! It is AMAZING! Disneyland’s beignets were the biggest disappointment. Come treat yourself to amazing food!

Mm. Nothing is more satisfying than watching a latte being made with tender loving care. I waked past confection la this morning and decided to give it a shot despite having a free reward for a different coffee place. I definitely don’t regret it. I ordered a dulce de leche 16oz latte with almond milk and two tiramisu macarons. The latte is(as I’m still drinking it as I type) is so smooth and flavorful. The coffee isn’t burnt or overly sweet. The tiramisu crème was just the right texture– not goopy and not solid– and the caps were light and fluffy. $ 8.75 with tip.

Cute little stand in the mall with desserts and savory options! My friend and I tried the Nutella beignets and the Danish puff with check-in. It was my first time having a beignet and I thought it would be small, bite-sized pieces but I was wrong. We got two large donut looking things with lots of powdered sugar on top. It was a feat trying to eat them without blowing powdered sugar everywhere. It was super fresh and yummy and there was a ton of Nutella. The Danish puff was also Nutella and soaked in some cream. I’d say the beignets were better. Yummy place for a filling dessert.

Best crepes since being in France, the recipe is from the family that runs Confections LA. The husband has a French Armenian background and they do a fantastic Nutella Crêpe, it is super to die for… yummy in my tummy… gotta have it… super gooey but light and decadent. I am raving about it because it is that great. I NEEDTOGOBACKTOTRYTHESAVORY crêpe… I DESERVEIT. I HADSUCH A ROUGHTIME that a cure of SHARING A FABULOUSTREATWITH the one you love cheered me UP like no other thing in the world. Also noting one thing, they don’t take tips, their tip jar is for their Youth Group at Church. WHENITCOMES to it, I think you get the best of both worlds at Confections LA, you get great gourmet food and donate to a local organization for kids..

Beignets in Arcadia? Why WOULDN’T I come here regularly? There is only one place in Los Angeles, in Hollywood, that sells the originals from Café du Monde in New Orleans. Everyone else sells their own twist of what is otherwise a converted donut. They’re good, but like the Acura NSX, a shell of the Ferrari. Now, the family-run Confection LA, on the other hand, is a welcomed contender. They offer different dough sizes in the form of beignets, ebelskivers(essentially Danish pancake balls like the ones in Solvang), and crepes, and all the key flavors from plain, to Nutella, to dolce de leche, and vanilla cream. It’s heaven on a plate. The only thing they need to maybe improve is the prep time. It does take about 10 minutes for an order, and being situated in the food court sort of clashes with the time expectations. But then again, anything this good is worth the wait. Check in on your Unilocal app and get a free sample.

Whoa, Danish puffs! Located at the food court in Santa Anita mall, Confection LA is a cute, little kiosk that’s perfect for a morning or afternoon of coffee and donuts. I had my eye on this place for the longest time and was so excited to hear that they had beignets. However, I haven’t had the chance to try them yet because both times I came here, I somehow ended up getting their Danish puffs. The Danish puffs are shaped like donut holes but taste more like little pancake bites rather than actual donuts. When done right, the outside is slightly crispy on the outside while fluffy and dense on the inside. The first time I came here, we ordered 3 orders, which come with 3 puffs, in nutella, vanilla cream and raspberry jam. While I wasn’t a fan of the nutella-filled puffs, the vanilla cream and raspberry jam ones were absolutely scrumptious! The vanilla cream was so thick and custardy while the raspberry jam was a simple classic pairing that never fails. My only complaint is that this place seems inconsistent depending on who makes your food. The first time I came here, the Danish puffs turned out great but the second time, the puffs were undercooked and soggy. While this might make me reluctant to order them in the future, I’m still curious enough about the beignets to give them another try.

My bf and I were in Louisiana and Mississippi a few summers ago and had their beignets in different cafes. We really enjoyed those and were looking for a place that sold beignets in the SGV. So, needless to say, we were elated to discover that Confection LA sells it. We came here once specifically to order their beignets, only to learn that their machine is not working. Big disappointment. Anyway, we were at the mall to watch a movie, and decided to see if their beignet machine is working. Lo and behold, it is! We ordered the plain beignet and an iced one pump hazelnut Americano. They have a digital menu, but gave us a hard copy of the menu from which to order. Well, we found that the prices on the menu are lower than those on the digital board. The medium Americano is $ 2.25 on their menu, but on the digital, it’s $ 4.50. Their beignet combo(an order of beignet and a medium drink) was $ 6.95 on the menu, but it’s $ 8.95(or might have been $ 7.95) on the board. I told the cashier about the conflicting prices, but she didn’t seem to be concerned. It may not be a big deal now, but if an inspector happens to be there and noticed, then they’ll be fined. Anyway, our Americano was very weak. There was not much of an espresso taste, which brings me to the conclusion that they, perhaps only used one shot. Most of the 16 ounce Americanos I’ve ordered have 2 shots. Their beignets were no better. This beignet came in a long, narrow twist, different from the wider more squat ones in LA and MS. They were frugal with the powder sugar and the beignet wasn’t fluffy. It was too hard for a beignet. All in all, I was really hoping to have found myself a go to beignet place, but alas, I will have to continue with my search.

Who would have that a coffee stand in food court of the Santa Anita mall would be my new before bed craving. My sister and I looked on Unilocal for a place to have a coffee date nearby and when we saw Confections had a perfect 5 star rating we just had to try it! The reviews on Unilocal praised the Danish Puffs and now so do I. Delicious! I will definitely have those puffs at the top of my cheat meal list. I also tried the Nutella crêpe and it was especially good. I love crepes and this was definitely a great one. I had the pleasure of meeting Eric, and his customer service was exceptional. This place deserves more than 5 stars and defiantly has a WOW factor. I’m very pleased with my experience and the quality of their ingredients. Will return often and crave daily.
