The Dr. has 2 office locations. Glendora and Arcadia.
Glendora office does not make the patient pay for copay. The copay, I believe, is charged to medicare or whatever is not covered by the primary insurance is charged to the secondary which is Medicare. Arcadia location on the other hand makes the patient pay.
When the patient tells the office personnel about not having to pay, everyone gets this attitude of, «Well you’re in this office.» It’s more like the attitude of «You are here to see a Great doctor and you should just pay.» The office workers get this a stuck up attitude with the doctors’ patients. They never called the other office.
If you go to the offices just come in. Sit and watch how the workers behave. Listen to their verbiage with the patients. It’s pretty sad that such a good doctor has bad employee attitude. Either office does not really know the location of the other store. They know the city, but not the address
I am not denying that Dr. Kurwa is a good doctor. I have noticed that when you come in, the office workers are the ones that do the work from eye dialation to checkup… then in the last 5 minutes of your visit the doctor comes in the room to check their work. I’m sure the personnel are train but I came in to see the doctor.
In any case just we wary of their front desk people.

The entire process from consult to post op check in was quick and painless. Dr. Kurwa addressed my questions during the consult and the operation itself went perfectly. I now have perfect vision thanks to Dr. Kurwa’s LASIK treatment. The staff were responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Came here because my uncle told me about how good Dr. Bud was and how professional they were. Well I had to agree with my uncle, I git a very good deal and from the receptionist to the Doctor they were all professional and kind. I have nothing bad to say, the parking was good, waiting room very comfortable and clean. I’m very happy with my lasik surgery and I will have family and friends stop by.

Been apprehensive about having lasik surgery for years. Finally gave in. Dr. Kurwa suggested monovision. only need surgery on one eye to restore my vision to excellent. Was given the possibility of having discomfort for a few days as well as dry eyes for a week or
was performed. Hardly knew it was done as it was over in a flash. The following day I could see as well as ever. Never experienced a moment of irritability yet alone dry
absolutely floored as my eyes don’t need contact lenses or glasses anymore. My eyes feel as though they can breathe and I see perfectly. Great work Dr. Kurwa…John K.

I believe Dr Kurwa is a good doctor and the prices for his services are a bargain, so long as time is of no consequence to you. Please understand that when you are given an appointment, it is actually a cattle call. You will be herded through the at their convenience, your appointed time means nothing. This will become obvious when you see the crowd in the waiting room.
For my initial lasik procedure I was told to plan to be there for an hour. The office called me to ask me to come in an hour early, yet I waited 2 hours before they called me in.
For my second (corrective) procedure I was again told to plan for an hour, but I was there for 3 hours. Somewhat of a problem when you cannot drive afterwards and have to arrange for a ride home.
My follow-​up appointment was scheduled for 9:30 am. I waited for 10 minutes and was called in only to be asked to come back at 10:30 because the Dr was still in surgery.

I went to Kurwa Eye Center after doing a lasik consultation at the Laser Eye Center. The Laser Eye Center wanted me to pay an additional $ 2000 because I had astigmatism. .Which was frankly a way to scam more money out of me from a faceless corporation.
Dr. Kurwa was personable, very informative, and affordable. In the consultation he listened carefully to my concerns and warned me of an possible side effects to opting for surgery. When I had the surgery, he made sure I was comfortable. The staff even brought me a cozy blanket to keep me warm (the lasers require a cool temp). He informed me what each of the steps would be like before he did it and walked me through everything. All in all it took 10 minutes and was relatively painless.
1 week after the surgery, I’m no longer sensitive to light (a temporary side effect) and I’m enjoying my 20 20 vision. Since I’m 22, I won’t have to wear glasses at least until I’m 45 and need reading glasses. yay!

Best treatment I have received at eye center. Dr Kurwa was pleasant making me
feel comfortable and at easy, on day of surgery he came in to make sure I was okay, explained what was going to be done and length of surgery. I am also very pleased with the results.

Dr. Kurwa performed cataract surgery to my mom both eyes last year. Our experienced with Dr. Kurwa from the Hospital to his office until now is fantastic. His a good caring Doctor. His Making sure of my mom will see better after the surgery and yes my mom can see better now. I would recommend Dr. Kurwa to my friends parents or grandparents who has cataract. Was denied access to my own medical records… isn’t that illegal?

I’m so glad I found Kurwa Eye center. Went in for consultation, luckily I was a candidate for lasik surgery. Dr. Kurwa was very informative and walked me through the whole process. Two weeks later I went in for surgery the staff there were very thorough and friendly. During the actual surgery Dr Kurwa made me feel comfortable as he was explaining each step. I have to say the actual surgery was a piece of cake. I felt no pain what so ever. The only time I felt irritation was when I got home. The next day I was fine. I’m happy to say I now have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision and this is only 3days later. I feel my vision will continue to improve over time. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bud Kurwa.

Dr. Kurwa performed the LASIK procedure on me and the entire experience was great! I can finally see 20/​20, and it hasn’t even been a week since the procedure. Dr. Kurwa answered my many questions at every step of the process and talked me through the entire procedure to help ease my nerves. I am so thankful for his work!

Thank you Dr. Kurwa! Helpful staff, made everything quick and easy for me. Came in on a Friday for the initial consultation, came out the following Friday able to see without my glasses. Dr. Kurwa made everything clear and when the procedure was done, I didn’t think we were actually done. Lasik was definitely one of the better decisions I’ve made.

Had a consultation at the Glendora office. Office is bit crowded and busy, but I’m sure that is because word of mouth fills the place with diverse customer base.
Office staff is cordial and helpful, once you get in to a room they keep you moving forward.
Dr. Kurwa is very cordial, quite knowledgable and most reassuring. He tells you straight up where you stand, offers options and is there to assist you in the world of eyesight. Very dedicated to his craft, he knows his stuff.
Surgical office is presentable, staff cordial and professional, quite nice.
You have to wait, then once you get in a room you zoom forward.
Procedure was quick, a bit uncomfy but quite doable, and the doctor does a great job of explaining the process while he works. Almost like a good conversation between friends, then all of a sudden, it’s done!
They do a great job of getting you prepped for post surgery, good job of follow up.
My eyesight is dramatically improved, I am quite thrilled at how well I can see, and have no need for glasses, except to read really small up close print, which is no big deal.
The quality of work is top notch and the price can’t be beat for that kind of result. I’d do it again in a heartbeat, and in fact sent wifey there to get her eyes done.

I came to Dr. Kurwa at his Kurwa Eye Center in Arcadia to get LASIK done back in Summer of 2013. After the first procedure I was told I had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision but I knew I had slightly better vision before with my contacts. After working up the courage to get a touch-​up on my eyes again I now see perfect. I used to be a –9.0 in both eyes and after the first procedure I got to a –1.0 and now after the touch-​up I believe I have perfect vision. There is a slight glare with bright lights when I am in the dark but that is a side effect of LASIK and I was well aware of that before the procedure. Dr. Kurwa was great and his staff at the Arcadia office were professional and friendly to me. Thank you.

I waited over an hour to see him even though I had an appointment. He was extremely rude and barely ever looked up from his chart. He left the door open while he spoke to me about my eye condition as everyone in the waiting room listened and looked in… there was 0 regard for my privacy!

Got eye surgery for cataracts here on December 30^th. Surgery was successful, everything went well. Place looked very clean and professional. Staff was helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

I got my Lasik done with Dr. Kurwa in Nov 2013 and then chose to get a re-​touch in January 2014 and ended up with very good vision after the revision. Overall I am happy with the service and care I received and would recommend friends and family to Dr. Kurwa.

I am so regret to go to Dr. Kurva for Lasik surgery. I wish I could take the time back. I went to Dr. Kurva for Lasik because I was tired of wear eye glass, it was difficult to apply make up. He said I will be so please how clear my vision will be after it is done and he charge me 2000 thousands dollars for it.
After it was done. My vision was still bad I cannot read, He said to wait for the eye muscle to get adjusted I wait 6weeks not better he said I need a touch up and he charge me again for another 250.00 dollars. I am still not able to see well. Now he said for me to wait again for the muscle to get adjusted he will see me again in 2 weeks.
My gut feeling is, this is going to be it, I lost times lost money, I suffered a lot of pain after the lasik. My old pair of eye glass not right for me anymore, I need a new prescription for my eye glass.
I do not want to go through another pain for nothing. I really believe he does not know how to do or his equipment is not good, when I express my unsatisfaction he said I had attitude, ofcourse I ahe attitude Dr. Kurva you are suck, you should try making a living doing something else.

Dr Kurwa is very unethical, rude, and no compassion for his clients. My mom was scheduled for surgery this morning at 7:30am I got a flat tire on my way to the hospital at 5:20am. I called admitting and the nurse to cancel. Apparently the message was not communicated because the Dr called me and went off on me. He said to take my mom to the hospital now this was at 7:40am or so. I explained to him my car wasn’t safe to drive and that I was far from the hospital. I explained how I called and that the flat tire was out of my control he yelled at me and told me to find a new dr that he was not going to do surgery on my mom and that he was done! It’s not his problem what happened. I told him this is not fair and I told him in a calm voice I will call state board then, you are refusing to reschedule her surgery when you know she is blind from her left eye. He said he didn’t care find a new DR. This entire time yelling at me. Now my mom has to find a new dr and wait even longer for surgery all because DR KURWA was mad for something we has no control of. I worked 13 years in medical and some Drs think they can treat patients like crap because they get away with it. Very disappointed and very sad for my mom. She was looking forward to her sight! I will never recommend him to anyone don’t care how good he thinks he is. Patient Care isn’t important to him.

Dr. Kurwa is amazing at what he does. The 3^rd day after laser eye surgery and I can see! I can see! No more scrambling looking for my glasses or wondering if it’s time to change my contacts out. My eyes were bad and he reassured me that he will try to get me to normal. I’m fine with that. I still can not see well at night but I will discuss that with him.
The experience was not painful but really uncomfortable but that is expected. I am such a baby when it comes to any pain or discomfort. Well worth it though. Your eyes feel dry and scratchy at first but it is expected with the type of procedure you had.
Overall I love that I can wake up and not worry about glasses or contacts.

regarding the comment from dr kurwa’s business partner marc s… he wrote that it is regrettable the request for insurance approval was beyond the scope of what the office provides!!! lol lol
all doctor’s offices fill out needed paperwork for the insurance companies… and do it for free!!!
of course, like i said… making thousands of dollars off of four family members… but will do «nothing» for the family… tooooo busy!
Their motto, «Just give me the money!!!» lol
