Pizza 786

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I’ll admit, I absolutely LOVE their meat lovers pizza. I recommended to friends and family and brought a lot of great business to the restaurant. But I am writing this to inform you how horrible their customer service is. A woman in a Jim beam hat with glasses who served me was extremely rude, said smart remarks and proceeded to make me feel uncomfortable. I feel intimidated to come back again and it’s sad but I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

The delivery has always been fast. I’m pretty sure I liked the pizza, but I usually order the Philly cheesesteak which is delicious! The large fry is a good size and they are good fries.
I really like the variety they offer. The only thing I wouldn’t suggest ordering is the cheesecake, it was frozen. But other than that, I say go for it!

I ordered a medium NY pizza, hot open turkey sandwich and a chicken filet sandwich from this place. Firstly, the food was pretty good, the NY style pizza while truly not NY styled was actually rather tasty. The filet and hot open turkey was actually really on par with any other take-​out or carry-​out place. For the food, I would give them 4 stars for sure.
However, here is where things got tricky. I ordered from their website where they have in place, the ability to order. Now in the description for delivery, they do not have ANY mention of where they deliver to etc… I live around 13 miles away, while I thought this might be too far for them to deliver, I also have gotten food from other places that do deliver this far and most places make mention of the maximum distance they are willing to go to deliver. Since their site had no such info I decided to go ahead and order. So I ordered around 6:00pm for a 8:00pm delivery time. Mind you, when ordering they specifically mentioned what time would you like your food to arrive and I picked 8:00pm.
I got the order confirmation etc. but for some reason, decided to call them around 7:40 to make sure they would deliver and I talked to someone there and asked whether they did indeed receive my order and whether they would be delivering it on time at which point they assured me they did receive the order and was going to deliver on time.
At around 8:20 a good 20 minutes AFTER they were supposed to deliver they called me to inform me that they did NOT deliver in my area. I was pissed and asked them why they could not tell me this at 7:40 and I could have just come and pick up my order. They avoided the question and I asked to talk to the manager for a refund and the salesperson simply told me talking to the manager would do me no good because he would NOT give me a refund. It was $ 34.00 for all this and I am not hurting enough to really care at this point but I insisted to talk to the manager. The manager simply told me well we don’t issue refunds, you need to call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
I decided to just go and pick up the food. So, while the food is good, I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to order from them. I however would recommend to dine-​in. First time i have been there and it was nicely done in diner style and looked clean.

Great halal food and wonderful old school setting to eat in. They have student and military discounts which can be useful. I love the food, the people and the setting but I think they should relocate to make themselves more known. They are hidden in the back which makes it a bit hard to find. Not a lot of people know of the place which is shame as many people would love it if they seen and been there.

Everything we’ve ordered has always been good. The only complaint we have are the wings, while good — they are a little dried out. Other than that, great food & reliable delivery.

Great halal food. The wings are pretty good. I would have preferred the spiciest wings to be a little more spicy, nevertheless.
The meat lover’s pizza is pretty good and has a lot of stuff on it.
I’d definitely go back.

I absolutely love the Pizza from this place. It’s not heavy like other pizza places. The owner is a very nice gentleman, and the atmosphere at the place is very diner-​esqe. Best pizza near UMBC that’s for sure!

I’m very surprised to read some of the reviews on here. My husband and I have been coming here with our kids for several years now and have never had a bad experience! The food is great… I usually get the roast beef and my husband gets the quarter pounder burger. And we always add a pizza for the kids :) Awesome food, nice atmosphere, and family friendly… this place gets 5 stars in my book.

Very good food, love the hot italian! We’ve had several meals here and have no complaints.
I always have a sandwich so I can’t rate the pizza. The menu has something for everyone and reasonably priced too.

I ordered a cheese steak at this place, my friend ordered a chicken cheesesteak.
Our first thought was that they only seemed to put cheese on the part where the sandwich was cut (so that it looks like there’s cheese when you pull it apart but the «cheesy» expectation of a sandwich which has CHEESE in it’s name is just, alas, an illusion.
The sandwich appeared to be flavored with «Steak-​Umm™ Brand Flavoring Powders» (note: this isn’t a real product, and my flavor-​allegations are conjecture), and while the bread was tasty (the literal only thing they seemed to get right), the contents did little to suggest that there was anything more than not-​particularly-​good mayonnaise on it.
The fries, which came with the meal, were described by my compatriot aptly as «tasting like bread-​nuggets wrapped in wet, yellow toilet paper and then baked for like, a couple minutes.» For our two orders of french fries, we were afforded four (4) small ketchup packets from a ketchup brand that none of us had ever heard of.
Stop, wait, rewind the tape. When I called in the order, the surly woman on the other end of the phone started off our sub-​sandwich misadventure by first arguing with me over the pronunciation of our street address, and then when I ordered an eggplant parmigiana sandwich for my girlfriend (who is a vegetarian), the woman asked «would you like chicken on that?»
Not to mention, when the «gentleman» delivering our food (we’ll call him «scab-​hands,» on account of all of the scars, scabs, and yes, an open wound on his hands) arrived, he stayed in the scabmobile outside for fully five minutes, letting our food «cool off» while trying to determine whether he was in the right place. (The store we’re at is located in a business park, and is literally the only open business today).
Back to the taste of the food. I felt like I was eating heartburn, and an esophageal infection, all at once. I don’t have a gluten allergy, but now, a full hour after consumption, the food makes me think I somehow _​caught_​celiac’s disease from a sandwich (which doesn’t make any sense).
I would rather have paid roughly $ 13 per person to have someone spit in my mouth until I could take no more than to patronize this place again. Halfway through my sub, I tore their menu in twain and threw it into the wastebasket, which is where it belongs.
Don’t go to this place ever, unless you like consorting with scabby-​handed shady individuals, and angry-​for-​no-​reason receptionists, not to mention awful food.
This was scab-​hands down, the worst carry-​out/​delivery experience I’ve ever had in my 30 years on this planet.

Chicken Gyro platter was terrible. Chicken was dry and way over cooked. French fries were cold. No flavor what so ever. Wife’s foot long chili dog was cold. Service was slow. Noisy TV’s blaring in background. Went during lunch hour on a Saturday and the place was empty, now I know why.

Ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and poutine over the phone. The woman who picked up was rather clueless and kept fumbling the order and talking to other people; I must have had to repeat myself three times. Despite the fact that poutine was on the menu, she had no idea what I was talking about. When we got our order, we got cheese pizza instead of pepperoni, and they refused to fix it. Neither the pizza nor the poutine was amazing enough to deal with the poor service we received.

Pizza 786 is a pizza/​subs/​wings/​salads/​etc place located near the UMBC campus. The interior of Pizza 786 is reminiscent of a classic American diner, featuring brightly-​colored booths, painted wall murals, and old-​timey signs like «Coca-​Cola, 15 cents.» There are two wall-​mounted televisions inside — which were tuned to different sports channels while I was there for lunch.
It seems like you can get almost anything for your taste at Pizza 786. The menu has sections for pizzas (many varieties), submarine sandwiches, wings, salads, pastas, and side orders. I’m sure that I left something off that short list! Service was quick: I placed my order and received it within ten minutes.
We ordered philly cheesesteaks, fries, and sodas. Everything arrived inside sheets or bags of wax paper. Ketchup, mustard, and sriracha bottles were located conveniently near the counter. I liked the cheesesteak the most — very cheesy and filling. This is a nice place for quick and cheap eats!

Can you really get pizza this wrong? It was edible, but barely recognizable as that glorious food we call pizza. Here are the problems: way too much mozzarella with no seasoning, skimpy sauce and what sauce there was tasted like Ragu, and bland heavy crust. It all tasted like it came straight from a can — no spice or zing or craftsmanship. At least, the delivery was quick, but then again I doubt their phone is ringing off the hook.
