I came in just because it’s local but I would drive over the hill to have Eleanor do my hair! she didn’t do my Baliage (sp?) that was from somewhere else, but she matched my natural hair color and covered my gray and gave a cut and gloss to restore the shine! I will come here to have all future hair appts. Thank you, Eleanor you made my hair look fantastic again!

Gave is my absolute my favorite hair stylist. I have tried about ten places in Santa Cruz County, and he is by far the best. Each time I go in, I show him a couple pictures of what I want, and he is able to interpret exactly what I want. I always get compliments from people after Gabe cuts my hair. He’s now at Muriska’s down the street, but it hasn’t stopped me from tracking him down!

Used a Groupon for partial highlights and cut with Marie. I’ve been using Groupons for about every hair dresser in the Bay Area these past 3 years, and Marie did the absolute best job… better than any of the rest. I paid for partial highlights, but I think she did almost full highlights. She took her time and she got every bit of my grey covered, which is not easy with highlights. Then, I told her what I wanted cut, and she gave me exactly what I had imagined, but better. It looks so cute. Feel like a new, younger woman. She’s also super friendly and down-​to-​earthy. No more Groupons. I’m sticking with Marie. And her prices are about the same as the Groupon anyway.

Finally got a call back from Daisy who apologized for her behavior. Too sugary sweet — transparently phony. She has seen me in cvs downstairs from Highlites 3 times since I stopped going to get my hair done with her. Not once did she try to make amends or make things right UNTIL she saw the post on Unilocal. Is this what it takes to get a service providers attention — A BAD REVIEW. This could have been resolved after my second visit. I was told Daisy can get attitude. I should have listened and stuck with Gabe.

All i’m going to say is: Mimoossaaaaaaa! Went to HfH to see Virginia. She greeted me very warmly and took care of getting that little gray that somehow likes to peek-​in OUT! A nice dark glaze with a little subtle low-​light for dimension, and i was done. Loved the touch of offering a mimosa while the color was setting. Convenient place, ample parking, competitive pricing… all good!

Highlights for Hair is the best salon around! Eleanor, owner/​stylist, is the best I’ve ever found and I’ve been a faithful client for about 18 years now! I have long, naturally curly hair and she does amazing color/​condition/​cut every time I come in. She takes such good care of my hair, is so professional and up to date, I look forward to my visits every 6 – 8 weeks! Everyone at this establishment is so friendly and skilled, I can’t say enough about what a happy customer I am!

Called last minute for an updo and was blessed that daisy answered the phone! She fit me in her schedule and made my hair look lovely! Very happy with how it turned out and would definitely return to her. Previously I had elanor and had a bad experience in that she was so rough combing my hair I had tears in my eyes!

I discovered this hair salon because I work just a few doors down the way. It was super convenient, so I thought I would try it out. I have been seeing Daisy now for over a year. She is great! I am always pleased with the way my hair turns out, and we have tried some different things. She is super knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. I always look forward to my appointments here and get SO many compliments on the job she does! I am now moving an hour away and plan on commuting just to get my hair done by her! I used to go to hair salons, making last minute appointments, taking whoever was available; but now that I have found Daisy, I will not take my chances with anyone else. Thank you, Daisy! You’re the best!

Gabe is a master in the dark arts of hair transformation. Today, I walked in looking like a housewife with frizzy, mousy brown hair. After a couple of hours of alchemy, voodoo, and meditation under a dryer, I walked out looking like a housewife with smooth, shiny golden blond hair. ’twas magical! Next I’m going to see if he can use his powers of transformation to turn my unruly three year old into a goldfish.

This place is awesome! I see Linda for highlights and cut, she always does an amazing job! I drive from Danville just to see her. I walk out of the salon feeling great! The highlights are always the exact color/​tone that I like. She cuts layers into my hair that gives my hair some volume (which is so hard to do with my flat, stick straight hair!) She also did an amazing updo for a wedding that I was in! I will continue to make the drive from Danville to see Linda because when my hair looks great, I feel great!

The excellent colorists and friendly but fast service is why I drive over two hours to get my hair done here. I have even converted some other friends to do the same, amazingly! SOCORRO and GABE are the tops!!! I love the way I leave the salon EVERY time! Also, they are so darling and remember you and talk — just how a salon should be!

I work nearby, so I asked if they happened to have an opening today, I did not want to wait another week for my appointment at my usual salon. Luckily, they were able to fit me in. I was nervous going to a new place. I saw Daisy. She had wonderful suggestions, spent a great deal of time coloring and cutting my hair. When I came home my husband complimented my hair cut. I cannot remember the last time he did that! Daisy has a new client!

This Place is great for Wedding parties and brides!
I booked Highlights for my pre-​bride hairdo and they also opened the shop on a Sunday to accomodate my wedding!
My girls and I went there knowing Daisy and her work. Daisy did my hair (I am the bride) and went with my suggestion and made it work beautifully! I was thrilled with my wedding hairdo thanks to Daisy!!! My girls liked their hair too, one goes regularly to Daisy.
Highlights is a little pricey, but other than that I was very happy!

So this place is pretty nice, outdated décor, but clean and decently friendly. I used to come here for about a year until I found a closer salon I liked more. I had about 4 different stylist each time, the first which got me hooked was a younger girl who did a great cut and highlight. After that the service decline and the last I believe I had the manager or owner, she whipped through my hair, not listening to my complaints of pain and chatting with her friend, yes the end result was pretty nice and it was quick, but it certaintly didn’t feel like I got my moneys worth. Overall a bit pricey for decent service.
