My neighbor recently removed our fence and 14 feet of ivy which provided my little home privacy from my neighbor’s 3 story home. My first thought was bamboo. Brian from Bamboo Giants came right out. Since this was his expertise, I let him make the suggestions and plans for what I needed. Yesterday, David, Juan and Carlos came out spent 8 hours at my home. By them time they left, I had a hedge of bamboo that was beautiful. Soon it will fill in and my privacy will return. i give Bamboo Giants a 5 star a+ rating. I will probably be calling them to plant additional bamboo in other areas.

Good company. They have amazing amounts of bamboo but mostly they are helpful. Talked to Vickie and Amy… great instructions on how to protect your property from being over run with bamboo… There’s a system we learned of from them that gets a privacy hedge nice and large in a couple of good years… We just installed it and I will be encouraged to see the outcome! But we’re happy with them and the process…

Bought many different bamboo types here(15plus) all have done well except the last purchase in which one of my plants died within 2 months of purchase I called and asked about a replacement since the prices they charge are PREMIUM,(quite pricey) was bluntly told no, we don’t really care, even tho it costs them nothing to replace, they simply dig up another root ball of bamboo I won’t be back nor will I refer people who ask where I bought my many varieties of bamboo

This place is great! Beautiful bamboo everywhere, nice trails to walk through. Awesome place to sit and have lunch. They also have a cute gift shop featuring all kinds of bamboo products. Plus, they’re dog friendly! We’ll be back soon and bring our lunch just to hang out.

This place is amazing! Even more amazing than the huge selection, very detailed in descriptions on each bamboo plant is the staff. Robin was so incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about bamboo! He was so informative but not at all pushy. There is no pressure here, makes for a wonderful shopping experience. Just there to help you make the best choice.

Beautiful nursery! I frequently come here and walk the grounds. Friendly/knowlegable staff and amazing selection of bamboo. You can see all the bamboo varieties in their mature form as well. I was reading others reviews. I CANNOT believe one would complain about their bamboo dying 3 years after purchase! Come on people! No nursery or shop of any kind is responsible for the care or LACK of care you give your purchase 3 years later… wake up!!!

We just hired them to install a job in San Jose and the client could not have been more pleased. A few of her bamboo plants are showing some stress after a couple of weeks in their new home and BGN suggested she cut back the watering and see what happens. If they do not bounce back in a couple months, they will send out their crew again to replace the plants, no charge. Great customer service, thanks!

We have been very impressed with the quality and variety of the bamboo plants that Bamboo Giant Nursery sells, delivers and even installs. Their installation crew is excellent. Installing large bambnoo plants is difficult work. They do a great job and stand behind their plants and their work.

Great Nursery for Bamboo. We took a 40 mile trip just to see all the bamboo they have and we were not disappointed. It was a lot of fun to walk through their bamboo forest and enjoy a completely different environment for an hour. We bought a bamboo in a pot and some souveniers. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Impressive place maybe at one time… lots of big bamboo though and it is like walking in a jungle… it was cool to walk through the paths and see all the bamboo… after 5 minutes boring… the plants for sale in pots were expensive and the selection was poor… I was planning on spending 4 or 5 hundred to buy 8 or 10 plants but ended up only buying 2 because the total selection was 5 of the most common bamboo in the 5 gallon pots… I only got the two because I drove over a 100 miles to get it…

Dawn was the unpleasant sales rep. that dealt with my account. After my designer made the initial contact with her, he had me call her to set-up a deposit. She was rude and kept reiterating what they were not responsible for during installation. When she told me that the plants couldn’t be delivered until four weeks out, I asked if they could do it sooner. She then became even more agitated and told me that they had more than enough business. At 99/ft. for plant and installation, which came to about $ 3300, I expected better service from them. Ultimately I did not buy from them because I was not confident with their customer relations. Silvia C.

Freaking amazing. Pull into the lot and you feel like you’ve been tranported to some far away land in the middle of a tranquil bamboo forest. Boasting a wide array of different species of bamboo, all for sale, you can’t help but marvel at the beauty on display. A koi pond overrun by lily pads and gazebo to scout the koi’s swimming below make this a magical place to purchase a bamboo plant. I was expecting a nursery, I got a forest. My only displeasure, service was a bit strained and the kid helping us was a bit curt. Don’t know, could be having a bad day but I felt like we were an inconvenience or something. Still, the place is so gorgeous it gets a five star from me.

Very cool place with a ton of bamboo. I can’t remember details on the prices(nor would I have had anything to compare it to until I came to Oregon), but… we gave it a thumbs up.

Nice selection of Bamboo in Northern California, larger selection in North Planes, Oregon, but for this area it has the best selection hands down. It has a good cross section of bamboo to select from. The 20′ plus foot to the shrub size. Price seemed about average for a bamboo farm. If looking for low light or full sun bamboo this is the place to go.

We bought 20 feet of Temple Bamboo from Bamboo Giant in 2006. We justified the high price for them to do the work because they guaranteed that the bamboo would not jump the barrier if they placed the plastic barrier in the ground. They said it was too difficult for us to do and we would have trouble with it spreading. We dug out the horrible clay 3 feet deep, and disposed of it. They put in the barrier, moved the new dirt we bought, and planted one plant every 3 feet, totaling 5 plants. 3 of the plants totally died that week probably sitting in the truck all day, on a very hot day. They did replace them, but with much smaller plants than we had ordered for the same price. Now the bamboo has passed through the barrier, there are 6 bamboo stalks in my neighbors yard. I called today, thinking they would stand by what they had told me, but NO. They offered no help, and didn’t stand by their word, their website is of course updated, and there was no mention of a guarantee in the invoice she obtained. I must look for mine to confirm what she said. They said that we needed to maintain it property, but the bamboo spread out of the barrier because they didn’t close the plastic properly where it overlaps. It did not jump over the top, Anyway, I would never purchase bamboo from them again. We thought we were buying a guarantee that the plants would not spread out of the barrier as they said. Our property has been very maintained as well. There are many other great places to find bamboo in the bay area, for a better price as well.

The only bamboo I have ever grown was the squiggly kind you get for a housewarming so when I needed a lil sumthin’ sumthin’ to plant along a fence for privacy I was lost as to what kind of bamboo to select. A little on-line research revealed there are about 8 bazillion kinds of bamboo — my head started to spin. Found this place and whoa nelly — that is a LOT of bamboo. Acres and acres ranging from stalks as big as Shelly Winter’s thigh and up to the sky to the aforementioned squigglies. Explained to the very chill and informative dude-on-duty(very possibly his real title) my sitch(sunlight, exposure, wind, space), he scratched his scraggly beard and said, «follow me». He led us to two varieties to chose from. We ended up selecting a bamboo we had seen on-line for twice as much as while I am far from an expert on bamboo pricing that seemed like a purty good deal. Paid for half the order then DoD said if we were willing to wait until the next delivery to our ‘hood we could greatly reduce our delivery costs by piggybacking off of that delivery. DEAL me says! The delivery arrived on time and lookin’ good! Delivery guy was as nice as DoD guy. Nice guys who know their stuff — ’nuff said.

We wandered around and learned about bamboo — who knew how many varieties there are?! The staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant. They didn’t seem to mind us taking a little stroll through the bamboo forest with our children, even though the boys were playing crouching tiger hidden dragon. Honestly, it is so romantic and beautiful, I think they should step-up their up-keep and gardening and charge a little admission fee. I can totally see my s.o. and me relaxing together on a bench by the pond, listening to the wind in the bamboo leaves, reinvigorating our romance.

This is an interesting place to visit however if you are looking to purchase some bamboo for your house it is really overpriced. In my opinion bamboo itself is a racket. They will explain to you how easily bamboo is propagated and how fast it grows… and this itsy bitsy bamboo is $ 25…

Talk about a hidden secret! I brought my mom here because I had seen their sign from the road while going to my girlfriend’s house. It said«bamboo specialists» on the sign. It’s easy to miss, if you’re going too fast! We were just planning to find a length of bamboo cane for a project my mom’s doing at her house. We not only found exactly what we wanted, but we also found a lot more! There are trails here to view all kinds of bamboo varieties in their full growth. We’re talking 40′-50′ tall canes of live bamboo in green, yellow, black, brown, as well as striped varieties. It’s amazing! They also have varieties for sale from $ 25 on up. It’s not cheap, but there are a lot of rare varieties here that I’ve never seen at the local nurseries. They tell you how the growth is, whether it clumps or is more of a hedge-type, fast-growing or slow-growing, and whether or not it grows straight up or tends to bow and lean. There are two gongs that you can hit, which resonate nicely through the canes of live bamboo. There’s also a pond surrounded by irises with koi fish and water lilies and a waterfall. There are picnic tables for people who just want to enjoy the view and sit under the shade of the bamboo stalks. It’s quite relaxing! You definitely get more for your trip out here than just the abillity to buy some bamboo stuff. You get a day in a bamboo park! Check it out! Bring your lunch with you, too, if you want to hang out a bit. They are dog friendly here, too, just keep them on their leash so they don’t trample the delicate bamboo shoots growing beside the trails.
