The service was slow. The bathrooms was SUPER gross. The food was good. I have had better. Their famous bacon dressing was good. I had their fish and chicken platter. The fish was not fresh, it was the frozen variety.

I wasn’t expecting this place to knock my socks off, but for the price I was fairly disappointed with the food and service. I’m not originally from WI, but I’ve noticed that locals seem to love their supper clubs for the large quantities of food at a reasonable price. Coming from CA, I prefer quality over quantity and fresh ingredients. I wasn’t expecting Michelin Star quality, just a good Traditional American dinner. Ambiance(1⁄5) — You enter the restaurant from the rear entrance and have to pass by the crowded bar area to find the restaurant seating in the back. There’s no sign or anyone to greet customers at the front, so we found this a little confusing during our first visit. The restaurant is dimly lit, old fashion, and has a slight musty smell. Service(2⁄5) — Once making our way past the bar, there was no Hostess or anyone to greet us. We found a waitress and were promptly seated since we arrived at 5:30p and most guests were still in the bar enjoying a cocktail. Our waitress brought our menus and took drink orders, but seemed rushed and didn’t take the time to ask if we had any questions or make suggestions. Overall, the waitstaff seem overwhelmed and stressed. Food(2⁄5) — Between the three of us, we ordered the Grilled Haddock, Shrimp Scampi, and Petite Tenderloin — a good sampling of the seafood and meat options. None of these dishes stood out as tasty, quality dishes that I would return for. The menu prices are written in on the menus in the restaurant and are about $ 2 more per entreé than what is currently reflected on the restaurant’s website. All of the entrées listed below come with your choice of potato and a salad bar. We tried the Twice-Baked Potato, which I found to be lacking in flavor and missing cheese on top — the best part of a twice baked potato! The Salad Bar is quite limited as the toppings include iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, cauliflower, and olives. The other end of the Salad Bar includes baby carrots and toast with three types of pub-style cheese, but that’s not really my thing. I will say that the Soup options looked quite good and that the Pepper Soup(peppers, rice, tomatoes, and ground beef) was quite tasty! The Broiled Haddock($ 13.50) was a generous piece of fish, but seemed a little overcooked(dry) and tasted a little fishy in my opinion. The Shrimp Scampi($ 16.50) came with 6 generous size shrimp, but they were not as sweet as previously frozen shrimp that I have cooked at home and I did not care for the garlic butter sauce. Also, all of the seafood dishes come overly dusted in paprika. The Petite Tenderloin($ 15.50) is a small size for the price, and I have had better tasting steaks at other steakhouses in the area. Overall, I was disappointed and will not return. If you like All-You-Can-Eat type restaurants this may be your place, but if you’re more of a foodie like me, skip this place!

We grew up here but now live on the west coast. We come here every time we come to visit for Friday night fish fry. The food is fantastic, the drinks are strong, the prices are fair and most importantly the ladies who serve is are fantastically friendly. If I could give these guys 6 stars I would!

Great, old time supper club type restaurant, although the physical facility is not old. Good place for visitors to Appleton going to a Packers game! Great food, full soup and salad bar, and great service. If you are looking for a local place to dine rather than one of the chains, you can trust this place to satisfy your foodie cravings for comfort foods.

I had the worst ribeye because it was more fat than it was meat. My friend ordered A Long Island iced tea and she said that was horrible too.

2.5÷5. We went here on several recommendations for a group dinner. It was a big bowl of ok. The service was fair and the prices were pretty reasonable. The food was just ok. The only stand out thing was the bacon dressing on the salad bar. It sounds weird but it’s actually pretty good. I would certainly go again if someone else wanted to but I’d probably go elsewhere where if it was my choice.

Going north to south on a hot sunday. The eatery a was a little out of date but I liked it. Service average. Food is pretty good Salad bar was good and fresh like my ladies. Ah anyway good radio station. Garlic Bread squares were drenched in butter. Jamie had a tooth ruined from her dental vist. To be continued. Good chicken and good cheese curds and good fish. We will probably come here again! After Bangladesh.

Went for fish on a Friday. It was delicious and freshly fried. The salad bar leaves much to be desired but at least they have one. The bread was wonderful. It was quite busy in the bar area but we were seated immediately. We will stop in again.

Another great meal at dick and Joan’s. Whenever in Appleton we make a point of eating at Dick and Joan’s. The staff is great, friendly and really work hard to make sure you enjoy your meal. The food is simply great. Let’s start with the SUPPERCLUB staple of the salad bar. It’s got all the goodies, cheese and crackers and HOTBACONDRESSING. Absolutely greats broiled steaks are always perfectly done. You ask for medium rare and that’s exactly what you get. Great cooks. One more note, the on-site baked table bread is simply fabulous. I cannot recommend this place enough and I am always telling my friends about this place. Wonderful every time.

This is the best supper club around. Consistently superior to all others. The prime rib and seafood are to die for. It doesn’t get any better than this.

My family and I have been going to Dick and Joan’s for well over 40 years. My kids tell us of their cravings to go here while they still live in Minneapolis. Tonight was the worst experience I have ever had there. Don’t get me wrong, the food was outstanding! We arrived just after 5:30 and we went to the bar to order a drink. I asked Pat, the owner, for menus and to send us a waitress when he could. We had 2 children under 9 years old with us. I watched several people that came in after us order and be seated before us. I understand that happens once in a while but, we were a family of 5 not a huge group by any stretch. Finally, I stopped a waitress and told her we had been waiting over 2 hours, what was the problem. She said she would get another waitress for us and in about 20 minutes one showed-up. No pleasantries just, …what do you want to order. No problem, I’ll have another drink while waiting. We were not seated until after 9:15. We finally left the restaurant more than 4 hours after we got there. PAT!!! Install a numbering system or we won’t be coming back.

We love it here. The salad bar is a little small compared to other supper clubs but everything is delicious and fresh. Always packed and has an older crowd but we like that.

We had a fantastic meal here. The Supper Club is all but extinct where I come from so I could not wait to try Dick & Joan’s. It was everything I hoped for; salad bar with iceberg lettuce, hot bacon dressing and all the fixings. I ordered the Combination of Petite Sirloin and Fried Haddock. While waiting for dinner we enjoyed the salad bar and warm homemade bread. Then, voila, dinner was served. The fish had a thin and crispy batter fried to perfection. My steak was cooked precisely as ordered and was flavorful and tender. It was paired with a twice-baked potato that was marvelous. And the service and friendliness of the staff was divine. I can’t wait to go back!

We’ve been going to Dick & Joan’s for years and it’s amazing. They have a bar when you first come in the door with an area for seating while you wait for your table. On weekends there can be up to a 1 hour wait to get into the dining room, but it’s well worth it. They have a great salad bar that always looks well serviced and has a good variety of toppings as well as 1 or 2 soups. They have prime rib on Saturdays I believe and I can’t go there and get anything else. Their prime rib is one of the best in the area for sure. They also have a tenderloin for 2 that comes with 2 potatoes which is also very good. They don’t have sweet potatoes as an option for those who don’t like baked potatoes, but they do have French fries. I’ve never tried the dessert at Dick & Joan’s because I’m always so full from the meal. Overall, it’s a must in the Appleton area.

Dick & Joan’s never disappoints! Had their steak & perch special. Both were prepared perfectly. The salad bar is a little limited, but everything is very fresh. The clam chowder is excellent. Their bread(always baked fresh and piping hot) is to die for!

Great WI Supper Club! This is our favorite Place in the Valley. If your a Liver & Onions fan you’ve found your spot. Have had the Tenderloin too — always cooked to perfection!

I was hesitant to write because I want to keep this my secret, but there’s no way this is a 3 star place. Fish fry great! Prime rib melts in your mouth and get the king cut so you can have it the next day with the fresh bread they let you take home. Salad bar is average but don’t waste the room in your stomach, just pile in the excellent steak. Oh yeah wash it down with their great old fashions.

Went here with a group of 10 for a birthday party. May I recommend you get reservations ahead of time! This was my 1st time here and I don’t know when I will be going back. The parking lot in the middle of winter is crazy snowy/icy. THere’s a large hole full of water and slush right by the corner of the building. Heck of a time trying to maneuver that by foot or vehicle. There is only 1 flood light and it’s on the building. Initially walking into the building you’re at the bar. There is no direction as to who to talk to to get a table. For a supper club in NE Wisconsin it’s typical, low lighting, busy as heck and hard to get a drink. The bar area was shoulder to shoulder people and no one would let you past them, nor the bartender notice you in order to get a drink. It also smells like a pool. After forming a line in the small hallway between the bar and dining room, speaking to the bartender and 2 of the waitstaff we finally find someone that knows we have a reservation and are directed to a table. We had 2 servers, which became a juggling act when ordering drinks trying to figure out which one would take care of which guest. The dining room again was dimly lit and was surprisingly cold. Hearing that this place is known for steaks I ordered the steak and haddock combo. The steak wasn’t bad, cooked and seasoned well, the fried haddock was sadly frozen and then fried. Upon receiving out checks we were asked to pay them at the bar. So again we form another line at the bar with other guests to pay who commented,” …It’s going to take us as long to pay as it did waiting for our food! «Which is somewhat true, the system could use a little stream lining.

We tried this place before Jersey Boys and all four of us were disappointed. The building’s moldy, musty smell, which they tried to cover up with many air fresheners, almost made me gag. The food was just ok. The selections on the menu were limited. The salad bar needed to be refilled in many items. We won’t be returning!
