Bridal Event – Portrait Event – Formal Event

I was so surprised to see the Unilocal overall review of this place. The Bridal Event in Appleton has been around for as long as I can remember. This place has a solid gold reputation in the area and deserves to be recognized. I no longer live in the Appleton area, and so when I was looking for my wedding dress I looked at multiple different bridal shops. I have been in 5 different weddings before my own and have been to plenty of bridal shops to compare with the Bridal Event.
In looking for my own dress, I went to two in the Chicagoland area, one in Milwaukee, and another in the Fox Cities area. In looking for your dress, this is a stressful and very special time for you and your family. You want the person you’re working with to be excited and helpful. I saw three different people at the Bridal Event and they were all rockstars at listening to what I was looking for in terms of cost, there was no pressure in terms of the sale, and they treated me like a friend. I would HIGHLY recommend Bailey; however, I am convinced there isn’t a bad egg in this place.
The site: the location is centrally located and there is plenty of parking. Something that I didn’t realize was so important to me about a bridal shop is the room that I would be changing in. It is no small feat to go in and out of wedding dresses and you want to make sure you’re in an area that has enough room for your to change comfortably. I also didn’t like the idea of changing and then walking out into a public area to show off my dress (i.e. David’s Bridal). There are some dresses that look great and some that you don’t care to show to the world. The Bridal Event has large and private spaces for you to pick out your dress.
Selection: Like most other brides, I looked at magazines beforehand. I had an idea that I wanted a vintage-​like feel for my dress. I didn’t care as much about the brand name, but had a specific idea in mind. My bridal event point-​person, Bailey, listened to what my tastes were and brought back lots of dresses that fit my style and price range. I was sooooo impressed by the selection and her eye for what I might like. I came in thinking I wanted X dress but then after trying on a few dresses I realized that the style I was interested didn’t fit my body type as well as others. Bailey was exceptionally patient and kind throughout this process and helped me find my dress. I still think (obviously biased) it was the most beautiful wedding dress I’d ever seen and it was right at my price-​point of $ 1000 + the alterations.
Not only did they have a great selection of dresses, but they also had a great selection of everything bridal. They had an awesome selection of undergarments, jewelry, veils, bridesmaid dresses, and so forth. They also have photography and I believe wedding planners. I have heard great things about their photography, but cannot speak to the bridesmaid dresses or the photography. We had another company do photography and I chose a different company for the bridesmaid dresses because there were so many from out-​of-​the state.
Alterations: I had my alterations done here and they did a beautiful job. I also compared their price to those in the area and it was right on par with other seamstresses. For convenience, it was a simple choice to have everything done here.
Like I said earlier, this place has a solid gold reputation within the area. Since I was out of town planning a wedding, I often did not know who to turn to for recommendations. I asked about wedding make-​up and the owner of the Bridal Event gave me the name of a local girl who does bridal make-​up and hair out of her home. She was fantastic. This place has been around for so long and is so well connected. They are also willing to help you plan your day.
In looking at Unilocal reviews, I was sad to see that more people have not commented on how fantastic this place was. It is no small feat to plan a wedding when you’re living out of the state, but this place made it less stressful. I asked friends in the area and the Bridal Event is where people in the Appleton area often go to first. They definitely do get busy on the weekends, but still treated me very well. I would recommend going on a week night or a Friday night rather than a Saturday or Sunday.
Keep in mind, I got excellent service and I didn’t buy the world’s most expensive dress. The biggest turn off for me of the other places I went to is that you may get different service if your price point is higher. The Bridal Event certainly has dresses that were 3−4x more expensive than mine; however, the price of the dress did not change the service I received. This is getting to be a novel, but I was extremely happy with all the services provided at this bridal shop. Feel free to message me if you have any questions regarding my review.

Not very impressed with this bridal shop. I walked in and stood at the counter waiting for someone to help me. Two employees that were behind the counter never said a word to me. I work in customer service and realize that you can’t always immediately help a customer, but a simply, «Hi, I will be right with you», is all that needs to be said. My friend ended up finding the dress I went in to look for and asked an employee if we can have a fitting room. We were in the fitting room for about 30mins and no one cared to ask how the dress was fitting. It wasn’t till we asked to see color swatches and to try on a dress of a similar color that an employee was concerned and then she wouldn’t stop being nice… Maybe because we were talking loudly about the rude service?! I’m choosing not to give my business to this place even though they are down the road from where I live. I obviously have mentioned to others my experience and have heard that I’m not the only one who has had terrible customer service!
I would suggest that each employee be taught the niceties of what customer service is all about if I were management!

My fiancée went in to look at dresses while we were in town visiting my parents. It was a Saturday and we checked the website to make sure that they were open. The website said they were open until 5 so the girls decided to go try on dresses. When they arrived around 2:45 they were told they were closing at 3 and were very unkindly shown to the door and told to come back some other time. Even after telling them they were from out of town, they still showed them the door. The staff was very unpleasant and seemed more interested in getting out the door than helping out customers. Needless to say, my fiancée and my family will not be returning.

I found my dress at this store, but they had NOTHING in my size to try on… they put me in a white bridesmaid dress in my size and pinned dresses to my front and back. If you’re going to advertise that you carry sizes 2 – 26, you damn well better have dresses in all of those sizes available to try on.
With that said, I loved my dress. However one of the straps they added came unsewn halfway through the reception. Also, a bridesmaid dress I had altered there was still ill-​fitting after four alteration visits. I pinned it to my bra after paying over $ 200 for alterations.

I found it, the dress. My mom and I stopped in a Saturday morning and were helped immediately. We were taken upstairs to the bridal section and got set up in a really large private room. We worked with Ida, who is really great.
All the gowns are out so you can make your own selection to try on. I live in Minneapolis and was in search of a specific style, this was the only store I found that had the sample. All gowns are excellently priced, most $ 800-​$ 1000, not more than $ 1400. After trying on a few dresses that i picked out our assistant asked if she could recommend a dress … It ended up being the ONE.
When ordering a dress here your bridesmaids will get $ 10 off any of their dresses, the bride gets $ 50 off any headpiece over a $ 100, and mother of the bride gets 10% off also. They have jewelry, shoes, accessories and tuxes all under one roof. I went shopping all around the twin cities and this was one of my favorite experiences. Bridal Event has a lot of styles that other salons don’t carry.
