Bate’s RV Rental

I thought the service was great. We rented in 2012 so I don’t know if things have changed but we loved every minute of it. Had a problem on the road it was taken care of

I WOULD STRONGLY CAUTION YOU NOT TO RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE :
I communicated with a Randy who initially seemed super helpful. I waited all day for a quote and some photos and even held out on other RV options to fairly make the comparison despite the urgency and the fact that many of the RV places were selling out quickly. Once I received the quote and it was 8k+ we quickly decided it was too much and opted for another carrier. I sent him a really nice email thanking him and politely declined.
Today I received the following message from him:
Wow!, Really??? You play silly little games only to come find out your all a bunch of poor fucks!

Everything was great with Bate’s RV Rental in the beginning. Randy was super helpful and got everything together for me. Reasonable price, etc. However, when we took the RV and it wasn’t working properly I attempted to terminate the contract early. That’s when the owner got involved and refused to refund any of my money even though there is NOTHING in their contract about early termination. The air conditioning wasn’t working to capacity and I needed to sub in a new RV to handle what I needed. His motorhome was deemed unuseful for the rest of our trip and sat in the parking lot of the hotel as we REFUSED to turn it in early if they weren’t going to refund any of our money. I didn’t want them turning it around and making another rental on it. It’s a shame that they gave absurdly poor customer service on the back end. If they had simply understood that it wasn’t working out for us and refunded us our money for the days it wouldn’t have been used this would have been a better review. Instead. They stuck their heels in the ground, refusing to refund any money even with no mention of consequences of early termination in their contract. Bad Business in my opinion. I definitely won’t be recommending or using them ever again. And from the sounds of their other review, this is just how they do business… Coulda had me fooled by their mom and pop photos on their website.

We used this service over the summer for a family reunion and I’ll tell you,“never again”!For one, they say they clean the vehicles and they charge a cleaning fee, which I was OK with BUT whoever does their cleaning does a POOR job! They obviously just do a quick «wipe down» because these Rv’s are filthy. We rented the class «c» and I was sleeeping on the bed over head and I sleep «belly down» and I could just smell the dirt and filth on the matrress (my sheet did not cover the matrress fully) Two-​they said «they take care of the „dumping“ not to worry about that».B.S. as I was driving the RV to our destination we could just smell the ODOR coming from the holding tank as it was being «sloshed“around by the movement. A clear sign they did not dump the tank from the previous renters and they did not have chemicals in. Absolutely discusting! We made an agreement that we would not use the bathroom in the RV-​we would use the facilities in the park-​A slight pain especially at night because of the distance and trying to avoid the «skunks”(yea, never again at that place) On top of all that, Randy never really did a «complete“walk-thru, was not very informative, talked very fast and was what appeared to be in a hurry to get this thing rented and get you gone! A nice enough guy but just not professional. Three-​the RV was a rattle trap! Could use a complete «maintenance walk-​thru» to include shampooing of the carpet and paddings and matresses and a full bottle of «pinesol».
I feel bad because I recommended «Bates» to other family members and found that their experience was «just as bad»! We’ve never rented an RV before and out of curiousity asked the «older» guy when we would get our deposit back? I detected a «serious attitude» with his answer as my dad did and he was not happy with that «old guy“to put it nicely… They don’t belong in business! I’ve been here in the «high desert» for almost 50 years and know alot of people here. I will not recommend BATES to anyone!
