Found this place after dropping off a rental car, it was great! Customer service was on point as well as the food. We had the Mahi tacos & pulled pork sandwich which were both very flavorful. As for the ice cream & shaved ice, they’re on a whole other level, even the small shaved ice is massive, the ice cream is very creamy & they were both so tasty! You can even add an extra scoop of ice cream to the shaved ice for an extra dollar The only downside is that if you order lunch & dessert they will bring out your dessert first & then you end up getting kinda full off that alone, I’m sure if you asked they wouldn’t mind holding off until you finished your food but we didn’t think about it. Hands down, we will definitely be returning! Very satisfied with our experience!

Very friendly staff great experience. Very happy to see new themed places in Apopka. The word needs to spread about this place more. And I love the Hawaiian flavored stuff.

Amazing, ice was plentiful and every bite had a lot of flavor. The staff was very friendly and the price for everything was very reasonable. I’m looking forward to trying some other offerings really soon.

Casual– family friendly– great flavors! Come support local!!! Hawaiian flare. All of the baked goods locally sourced. Ice cream flavors are the best in town! Came with the whole family and all ages(7 – 70) enjoyed. Staff is friendly and everything is clean and bright!

I’d probably rate this place 4 ½ stars if possible but considering its in Apopka where we desperately NEED some non-chain restaurants it gets a 5⁄5. As soon as you pull up you’ll notice the tropical décor. It is bright and cheery both inside and out. They’ve worked really hard to theme every square inch. Gaudy? Maybe but I think that’s part of the charm. You order a the counter then the food is brought to your table. The staff, when trained properly, as fantastic. The owners obviously know their stuff but some of the newer staff(the place had just opened) were a little lost. For instance, one evening the girls behind the counter struggled to make us cups of coffee. After we left and tasted the Kona-blend coffee we noticed it was horribly weak. Food is not your typical fare. I had a delicious pork and slaw sandwich and my daughter loves the spam mac and cheese. I tried the ahi salad one time too and it was way too salty for my liking. It also surprised me that it was spicy and left my mouth burning! The shaved ice is authentic– made from block of ice, and as tasty(try the guava!) as it is beautiful. What earns Slurp Shack 5 stars in their involvement with the community. They recently had an entire grand opening weekend with luau and fire show. The live music got the audience involved and made it a hoot! I know they’ve had face painting, craft vendors and live animals at one point too.

This will be short review, since I’m solely basing it off my first visit and on the few things I have tried here. Came here for their grand opening weekend, and there was a night show that consisted of hula dancers, fire dancers, and a singer. I unfortunately missed the dancers(my fault, I was on that island time haha) but I do hope to watch the shows one of these nights! I ordered the Loco moco, if you’re a fan of hamburger patties, gravy, and a runny egg. BOOM. Do yourself a favor and order this! Of course, I ordered mine on a bed of rice. Not gonna fool myself and try to eat it with greens. It’s better with rice, trust. This was pretty darn good. I haven’t had a lot of loco moco’s but the few I’ve tried, this was pretty bomb. As for dessert, you HAVE to get shaved ice. Mercy, a small order looks like a huge. I can only imagine what the large is. I got the orange, passion fruit, and guava flavor. YUM! So refreshing and tasted like juice. Overall, cute little place in Apopka. Worth the drive and try!

GREATPLACEWITH A FRIENDLYSTAFFANDOWNERSWHOAREHANDSON! I heard about this place by word of mouth and they were right! The shaved ice to the meals(I’ve had the pulled pork sandwich and the nachos) all leave you wanting to come back for more! The nachos were so huge I could only eat a quarter of it before asking for a box to take home. The way they make the meat that is used is phenomenal and nothing like I’ve ever tasted in a very good way! This place will be on the map for a long time to come and definitely a great place that Apopka has needed to step away from all the chain ho hum places. Thank you!!!

This a refreshing place to eat. Not your normal fast food. I had the Teriyaki Beef Sandwich and my husband had the Mahi Tacos. Both were awesome. The Hawaiian Shaved Ice is incredible, it was like eating flavored snow. The staff is friendly and pleasant. Great atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back again

Not a fan. They were super nice and the portions are giant! But. I guess I’m just used to a regular shaved ice… The ice here is shaved so finely it’s like powder. So the texture and the syrup was just too much for me! Other people may enjoy that type of Hawaiian shaved ice though :)

Great Hawaiian food at a reasonable price. Very friendly owners and staff. Island music is playing making the ambiance very laid back and comfortable. Clean serving and eating area. Bathroom is also very clean. I had the Seared ahi tuna poke. Great taste! I also had the spam masubi, so good it reminded me of home. Boyfriend had the spam sandwich with cheddar cheese and he enjoyed it thoroughly. The shaved ice and toasted coconut ice cream is just wonderful! Please stop by and give them a try! I can’t wait to try their other items!

The prices are very reasonable and the owners are very nice. When we first arrived we didn’t know what to expect since Hawaiian food is in short supply in Orlando. The food tasted excellent and were definitely going back for the shaved ice one day. The Pork tastes just like it did back in Hawaii which brings back memories from our vacation. If your like us and love supporting your local restaurants then you definitely should check this place out.

It’s great to see a new business in Apopka. They excel in shaved ice, and I can see why. Order a small, and you get what would be a large elsewhere. There are a myriad of flavors to choose from, and you can even mix and match since they add the flavoring after the ice is shaved. The place has a nice amount of seating, friendly staff, and very fair pricing for the portions. The problem I have now is that it is on my way home, and I can’t stop every day. I have yet to try the food here, but I don’t see that as a main reason to come here in the first place.

This is an awesome hole in the wall shaved ice place. The meals are a decent size and the shaved ice is gigantic. This is the only real shaved ice place I’ve been to in Florida and it’s fantastic. The food is also pretty good. I had the Kalua Pork Sandwich with Mango Salsa, and to my delight, it was served with an interesting chip mix and a huge slice of mango. The actual pork and salsa were great, but the bread wasn’t as good. The bun was too plain and coated in super salty butter. I think I would have preferred my sandwich served on a Hawaiian roll(no pun intended) because it would have added to the sweetness, and without butter, or at least with unsalted butter. I drank the tropical ice tea, and it was sort of like passion fruit hibiscus tea, almost like kool-aid, yum. I think this place is great, and the prices are cheap for dessert and fair for meals, but the location is a bit odd. In addition, the ambience is nice because it’s not overly crowded and the music is quiet unfamiliar Hawaiian music that adds a very relaxing tone to the atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back!

A co-worker told me about this place so being from Hawaii I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Loco Moco and it was on point! For the 10 or so minutes it took me to finish the bowl, I felt like I was back home. The owner JR and his employees were very friendly. I definitely recommend this to place. For all you people that have preconceived thoughts that Spam is awful, try the Spam musubi. It may change your mind.
